Manipulating Turkey?

The Counterterrorism Blog had the following by Dr. Wallid Phares:

Are Syria and Iran Manipulating Turkey on Iraq?
By Walid Phares

PKK is the Kurdish Worker’s Party that adopted violence in its struggle against Turkey. As the Turkish Parliament recently voted to authorize a limited invasion into Northern Iraq to fight the PKK militias, one can see the rising shadows of two hostile regimes in the region, eager to see a NATO member, Turkey, eventually clashing with the United States through their local allies in Iraq. Indeed, the Iranian and Syrian regimes have been pushing the precarious mechanisms of a Turkish military intervention into Northern Iraq for a while now. Logically, a collapse of security in the most secure part of Iraq would lead to a crumbling of the military stabilization of the country, a chief objective of US plans in Iraq.

But the Iran plans for Iraq, which I have analyzed in a previous article, consist of three types of destabilization: An Iranian push in the south, a Syrian opening for the Jihadists in the center, and dragging Turkey to a dogfight in the mountains of the north.

In order to launch the third leg preemptively into Iraqi Kurdistan, Tehran and Damascus have been pushing all the right buttons for the confrontation. Iran’s shelling of villages in the northern part of Iraqi Kurdistan over the past months aimed at encouraging Turkey to do the same.

Opening salvos by the Ayatollahs are to test the Kurdish and US reactions. Moreover, Iran’s Pasdaran - the Revolutionary Guard that provides training and support to terrorist groups throughout the region and abroad - is said to have infiltrated some circles within the PKK, since the latter was based in Syria a few years ago. The PKK suddenly has been waging inexplicable operations inside Eastern Turkey with a new energy, after years of calm. Sources believe the PKK was manipulated by both Iran and Syria into these terror acts on Turkish soil while the official bases of the group are on Iraqi soil. Hence the attacks triggering Turkish anger and responses may have been manipulated by the “axis.”

But the Syrian regime has another card it could have played. According to well informed sources in the region, and not to the surprise of experts, the Alawite regime in Syria (Alawites are important to the leadership of Syria, as President Bashar al-Assad and his father, Hafez are Alawite) has had good relations with Alawite officers inside the Turkish armed forces. The “Alawite connection” may have been activated to encourage a military response and incursion into northern Iraq. But nevertheless, the Assad regime and the Turkish Islamist Government - reinforced by the last Presidential election in Ankara - have a joint objective interest in weakening the US presence in Iraq.

Assad thinks that he can help create a major Turkish-Iranian-Syrian alliance against the Kurds in Northern Iraq. And by the same logic, the Kurds, solid US allies, will be facing another formal ally of Washington on Iraqi soil: Turkey. The plan is to drag the Turkish Army (traditionally not inclined to find itself face to face with its major ally) to enter a territory where “terrorists are based,” but where they could be indistinguishable from those Kurdish Peshmergas who are the backbone of the new post-Saddam Iraq. The rest can be guessed.

As the “axis” is using all its cards to crumble Iraq’s and Lebanon’s democracies, the Kurds in Northern Iraq should have acted quickly and strategically. There shouldn’t have been any PKK bases in their areas because these are a recipe for disaster.

The situation in Iraq as a whole is still complex, precarious and explosive, despite the advances made by the new US military plans, including the surge. The north must remain stable and secure and, above all, at peace with the only “NATO” border it has. The other frontiers Iraqi Kurdistan has are with the Pasdarans and the Syrian Baath. Both want the new Iraq’s head.

Instead of playing charms with Tehran and Damascus, the Kurdistan city of Soleimaniye must reinforce its own deterring force and maintain stability and peace on its northern border with Turkey. Knowing all too well that the new Islamist Government in Ankara is shifting the grounds inside the modernist Kemalist Republic, Iraq’s Kurdish leadership mustn’t offer any reason for a Turkish adventure in their areas.

Hence, it is recommended that the Kurdish leaders of Iraq be the ones to reign in the PKK to avoid having the Turkish Army crossing the borders. The US can - and should - broker arrangements between the Iraqi Kurds and the Turkish military to avoid the rise of an anti-Kurdish Triangle in the region.

Dr Walid Phares is the director of Future Terrorism Project at the Foundation for the Defense of Democracies, a visiting scholar at the European Foundation for Democracy, and the author of The War of Ideas: Jihadism against Democracy.

Baby Assad, Nanci “The Most Powerful Woman in the World” Pelosi’s dear friend, is in the struggle of his life to save himself from the UN tribunal and at the same time prop himself up in power. With the help of the putrid little maggot, Ahmedinajad, he is trying to forge a powerful tripartite anti American alliance that will include one of our allies, Turkey.

The PKK has a bloody history and long enmity with the Turks, when the latter finally managed to neutralize it, its leadership fled to Syria where they found ready asylum (as did countless other terrorist groups). It was obvious Syria was no friend of Turkey. Yet, considering that politics makes strange bedfellows, suddenly the two countries may find a common interest… While the PKK has been a scourge to Turkey and deserve to be destroyed, the Syrian/Iranian axis is manipulating them into a situation where they may just be intrumental in tearing up the traditional Turkish/American alliance.

Such a breakup would be a powerful boost for Assad Jr. and his puppeteer, Ahmedinajad. It might also explain the timing of the failed congressional non-binding resolution labeling the almost 100 year old events that murdered over a million Armenians, as “genocide.” Does anyone believe that Pelosi et al, do not understand that such a resolution would drive a wedge between the US and one of its most formidable allies in the region? At a time when the Iraq War is draining such tremendous resources from the US, at a time when it needs the friendship of everyone that cares to be on its side, what is the point of antagonizing a friend?

The answer, gentle reader, is blowing in the wind! The answer lies in the malodorous fishy love fest between Pelosi and Assad earlier this year. In an effort to ensure that America does not win in Iraq (ann American victory which would then destroy the Democrat Party) Nanci and Bashaar (they do make such a lovely couple, don’t they?) have united to destabilize Iraq even further. She hailed Assad, at the time, as a someone who wants to bring peace and progress to the region, by raising this political pariah into world statesman class. Pelosi is directly responsible for the sufferings of Lebanese and the systematic murder of its anti-Syrian leadership; she is directly responsible for the sufferings and poverty of the Syrian people controlled by a ruthless dictator. She is also psychologically reinforcing those groups that work hard for chaos in Iraq, those groups that murder Sunnis, that murder Shiites and cause the death of American soldiers there. All for the party, none of it for the good of the country Madame Speaker is an elected official of.

When what is good for America suddenly collides with what is best for one of its political parties, perhaps it is time for the country to unmask a leadership that carouses with internationally known political vermin, whose very agenda is the destruction of America. Americans, regardless of whether they approve or disapprove of the war in Iraq, must realize that today’s Democrat Party does not have the country’s interest at heart.

Nay, the Democrats today are hard at work finding and pursuing every venue that can make the US look bad. Why? So that people disillusioned with the Republicans will instead put the Democrats back in power… regardless of the bloodshed the latter are encouaging and facilitating. The cynicism, the total disregard for America’s interest, the fact that they are hard at work to humiliate our country, should be ample proof of their moral bankruptcy and intellectual dishonesty. Will America wake up in time and deal the Democrats the political death they rightfully earned? Until then, Turkey is being manipulated by Iran and Syria into a confrontation with the US. All this with the tacit support of Pelosi, Reed and the rest of that gang.

Islam and Slavery - Good together

Many of the rally's participants were amazed to learn that slavery was legal in Saudi Arabia until 1962. Sudan's Arab colonizers have never given up their right to hold and traffic in slaves.

A tip of the turban Hat Tip to Dymphna at Gates of Vienna for pointing us to this Power Point Presentation on the Early Native Americans Muslims. One of her readers says this presentation was given at an Islamic school in New Jersey.

The presentation conveniently ignores the fact that Islam institutionalized slavery:

Answering-Islam.org,
SLAVERY IN ISLAM

However, few people in the west know about Islam and slavery. Most would be surprised that Islam authorizes the taking of slaves as spoils of war. From the days that Muhammad drew his sword to rob and conquer non-Muslims to this very day, Muslims have been taking non-Muslims, and even other black Muslims, as slaves.

Muslims were enslaving black Africans long before any slave ships sailed for the New World. Muslims were taking and making slaves all over the lands they had conquered. Later, when slave ships were loaded with black slaves, often, a Muslim slave broker had the human cargo all ready to go. American slavers rarely had to go into inland to capture slaves, they were already waiting there, courtesy of some Muslim ruler, and/or slave broker! In many cases, if the black slaves were not sent to the New World, they were sent to the Mideast to be enslaved by Arabs, or kept by other black Muslims as slaves.

But, one may interject, isn't all this just a relic of the past? Hasn't Islam, now in modern times, rejected slavery as a barbaric remnant from a more primitive era?

Many of the rally's participants were amazed to learn that slavery was legal in Saudi Arabia until 1962. Within a decade of America's Civil War, the Ottomans had banned slavery and dhimmitude throughout the Empire. Just as in the U.S. it was the South, i.e. Arabia, which rose up and fought a civil war against Istanbul, in the same way that the American south went to war against Abraham Lincoln's government. Tragically, in the Ottoman civil war, the southern slavers (ARABS) won. The Ottoman Empire dropped its demands for emancipation in Arabia. Yes, the slave masters won the right to hold slaves, and that right was only abolished in Saudi Arabia in 1962. Sudan's Arab colonizers have never given up their right to hold and traffic in slaves.

OK,OK, you say, just one country [70% Sunni] that happens to be run by Muslims is still dabbling in the slave trade, so what, that doesn't prove anything.

It isn't one country, from WIKI [stats in brackets are mine]:

  • In Mauritania [100% Muslim] alone it is estimated that up to 600,000 men, women and children, or 20% of the population, are enslaved, many of them used as bonded labour.

  • In Niger [80% Muslim], slavery is also a current phenomenon; a Nigerien study has found that more than 800,000 people are still slaves, almost 8% of the population.

  • In Chad [53% Muslim], the UN reports children being sold to Arab herdsmen in Chad. As part of a new identity imposed on them the herdsman "...change their name, forbid them to speak in their native dialect, ban them from conversing with people from their own ethnic group and make them adopt Islam as their religion."

  • In Nigeria [50% Muslim] , ... children are kidnapped or purchased for $20 - $70 each by slavers in poorer states, such as Benin and Togo, and sold into slavery in sex dens or as unpaid domestic servants for $350.00 each.

  • In Mali [90% Muslim], The Malian government denies that slavery exists, however, the slavery in Timbuktu is obvious. Slavery (sometimes called indentured servitude) still continues with some Tuaregs holding Bella people. [for those of you who are not familiar with Tauregs - they take their Islam in the most primitive and brutal version possible]

So go ahead, Muslim teachers and educators, refurbish your past history, remove references to the holocaust and the great contributions of Jews throughout the centuries. Keep dwelling on the glorious past when your sword ruled over most of the world; but don't pretend that Islam is a religion like Christianity or Judaism. We see it for the terror-political system it really is. That is why slavery still exists in Islamic countries: Islam cannot accept change. What is really amusing is that blacks think that there is no racism in Islam.

Frontline Fellowship
The End of Islam

... the claim that "there is no racism in Islam, we are all one…" is a blatant lie. From the very inception of Islam, and for its entire history, Muslims have made up the largest numbers of slave traders and engaged in the greatest slave trading campaigns in history. Even today, slavery continues in many parts of the Muslim world. Just about the only places in the world today where you will still find slavery practised are in the Muslim world.

Islam's present day barbarism is well documented, one merely has to google or look up Islamic Slavery in Amazon.

Islam is a Phony Religion

I want to discuss two axioms from Sun Tsu's Art of War:

  • All warfare is based on deception.

  • if you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles.

One of the greatest deceptions in the world is Islam. Most uninformed persons believe the al Taqiyya, or disinformation, that Islam is a religion and that its military handbook, the Quran, is a Holy Book. Neither could be further from the truth.

But before my liberal friends protest that this sounds similar to accusations against Jews in the last century in the publication The Protocols of the Elders of Zion in which is described a Jewish plot to achieve world domination, I should like to point out that such book was in fact a forgery and a hoax. No such book or plan for world domination ever existed.

The Quran however, is not disputed by Muslims to be their book. There is no question that Muslims want and desire a world Caliphate, that is, a world dominated by Muslims. There is no question that Islam is a political belief system, that Shariah Law is not just for religious Muslims but for the kafirs to obey as well.

All warfare is based on deception. And Islam's war against non-Muslims is being waged on the deception that Islam is not only a religion, but a religion of peace and tolerance. They say this with their lips while they destroy the artifacts and churches of other religions with their arms. They say this while at the very same time they rape, torture and burn Christians.

If you know your enemies and know yourself, you will not be imperiled in a hundred battles. We in the West do not know our enemies and it seems we do not even know ourselves. We give Muslims footbaths paid with public monies while we deny Christians their Christmas music even though it costs nothing to taxpayers.

One News Now,
19 Apr 2007,
Minn. college under fire over tax-funded Muslim foot baths

Columnist Katherine Kersten of the Star Tribune in Minneapolis reports that the Minneapolis Community and Technical College "is making plans to use taxpayer funds to install facilities for ritual foot-washing" since many Muslim students have been using restroom sinks to wash their feet before prayer. However, Kersten says the same school that is going out of its way to accommodate Muslim students has in the past banned various religious practices related to Christmas, including Christmas music.

I know what you idiot liberals are saying, "this is only one small instance of a concession to Muslims, what's the big deal?" It's not one instance:

WND,

Muslim footbaths spark another fight

Indianapolis airport officials have announced plans to add footbaths for Muslims who wish to wash before their five-times-daily prayer rituals, and that's just too much for one pastor, who has called for residents to organize and protest.
...
Several years ago, officials with Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix boasted of a new "customer service," providing footwashing facilities for Muslims.
...
Similar facilities have been built at Kansas City International, although airport officials repeatedly have insisted the washing facilities are for anyone aided by the presence of seating and low faucets.
...
One editorial writer called it "creeping dhimmitude," where America is joining the "global community of nations dominated by Islam..."

LGF,
3 Oct 2007,
Muslim Footbaths Coming to NYU

As more than a dozen universities and colleges across the country have done, the school is looking to install foot baths for ritualistic cleansing in a new Islamic center proposed for its more-than-1,500 Muslim students.

We need to stop the deception and begin to understand our enemy. In that regard, some bloggers have made a suggestion:

Faultline USA,
15 Oct 2007,
Why America Must Define Religion

But what if some religions believe that their religious law must be the only law of the land? How can America deal with a political system (inimical to American freedoms) that is hidden inside a religion?
...
Perhaps it’s time for a constitutional amendment? I submit for example: “No person shall hold any office or public Trust under the United States who adheres to or gives allegiance to any religion, ideology, or organization which by word, nature, association, or action has shown intent to undermine the sovereignty of these United States!"

Israel - The Safest Place in the world for the Baha'is

When the President of Iran proclaims that there is religious harmony in Iran and that the mission of all religions is the same as they all come from the same source, the Western media fails to mention the persecution of the Baha'is in Iran, the largest religious minority in that country. Baha’is have been targets of officially-sanctioned discrimination and violence since the religion began there in the mid-nineteenth century.

Before the Iranian Revolution in 1979 in the city of Shiraz, Iran, there was a house that belonged to the Bab, the first of the two Baha'i prophets; and in that house there was a holy room filled with artifacts belonging to the Bab. This was the most sacred site for the Baha'is.

Pictured above are Revolutionary Guards destroying that house which should have been a part of Iran's national heritage.

This is Islam at work when Islam rules. Buddhist Statues are destroyed; Christians are burned, raped, and tortured; Baha'is are officially persecuted.

The Official Website of the Baha'is in the United States,
Persecution of Baha'is in Iran

Today the Iranian government regards Baha’is as apostates and “unprotected infidels.” Baha’is in Iran have no legal rights, and they are not permitted to elect leaders of their community. The Baha’i Faith has no clergy, and community affairs are coordinated by democratically elected governing councils called Spiritual Assemblies.

Baha'is in Iran are systematically denied jobs, pensions and the right to inherit property. More than 10,000 Baha’is have been dismissed from government and university posts since Iran’s 1979 revolution.

So if you are of the Baha’i Faith, where would you go to put your most holy relics for safekeeping? Where in the whole world can one find a place where the people are not racists nor bigots, where they do not persecute you for your religion, where all religions are, in fact, tolerated? Why Israel, of course.

Yes, Israel, which has been compared to the Nazis, which has been called an apartheid and fascist state.

It happens that the Seat of the Universal House of Justice [photo], the governing body of the Bahá'ís, is in Haifa, Israel.

In the supposed "fascist" State of Israel, one can find the Shrine of the Bab, pictured here below.

It is interesting to note that the Bahá'ís are building and expanding their holiest shrines and world center in the middle of a state with supposedly the worst human rights record in the world. Perhaps the BBC and the New York Times and other leftists and Jew haters are wrong about Israel? Contrary to what you may have read, Israel is in fact the most tolerant land in the world. Nothing personal, but if Muslims in New Jersey were blowing up buses every day with women and children in them, I would certainly not allow Muslims to live among us as they do in Israel. I believe that contrary to the policies of Israel, we in the United States would have done to Muslims what we did before to the Japanese during WWII. How Israel tolerates these sand fleas I will never understand, so please spare me the fascist state nonsense.
