Terrorists will Not be Released for Holiday
Dread "locked" holiday:
IsraelNN.com--Israel will not release Arab prisoners for the Muslim holiday of Eid el Adha. Last week, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert promised Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that he would consider such a move as a goodwill gesture, but the prime minister has not yet held a meeting on the subject, and the Muslim holiday begins on Saturday. "If there is no discussion there will be no release," said a senior figure in the Prime Minister's Office.
Other sources said the prime minister decided on Friday morning not to release Arab prisoners before kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit was freed. A senior official in the Prime Minister's Office responded to the Arab complaints about Olmert's decision, saying "instead of expressing regret, if these officials would abide by the cease-fire, maybe they would get prisoners."
Go Olmert Go! Perhaps had the Palestinians thought of releasing Gilad for Hannukah or even, Yahweh forbid, Christmas, they could be held in good faith.
But given that during the ceasefire there have been over 60 rockets fired from Palestine, does anyone doubt Olmert's judgement? (Besides the UN and all of Islam.)
