Three children killed in IDF strike on Kassam launchers

Kassam rocket launchers. Photo: IDF [file]Here's the story:

Jerusalem Post,

Three children killed in IDF strike on Kassam launchers

Three Palestinian children were killed on Wednesday in an IDF strike on a number of Kassam rocket launchers in the northern Gaza Strip.
...
A relative of the children, Wasfi Ghazal, said he heard an explosion and then children screaming. He held both Israel and the rocket squads responsible.

"We are victims of the occupation and victims of the misbehavior of some of the fighters, who are randomly choosing our area to target Israel," Ghazal said.

Well, at least Wasfi also blames the terrorists for putting the children at risk. But the kids were 10 and 12 years old, why haven't their parents taught them not to play near rocket launchers? And why blame Israel when they merely defend themselves?

At first Carl in Jerusalem thought it was no accident: I'm sorry but there is NO excuse for sending ten and twelve-year olds to retrieve rocket launchers or on any other kind of 'military' mission.

I also thought this was the most likely explanation. Later, an IDF investigation indicated that the three children were playing tag. Still, the IDF did the right thing...

Overstaying their Welcome?

Naharnet has the following about how public opinion is starting to turn against the Palestinian “refugees” in Lebanon:

Nahr al-Bared Battle Fuels Anti-Palestinian Sentiment
As the list of dead soldiers grows, anger mounts in villages of north Lebanon where the army has been locked in a deadly showdown with Islamist militants for more than two months.

Black-clad women shout angrily as men in sombre mood sit in heavy silence next to portraits of the “martyred” soldiers in impoverished villages in the remote north — a main reservoir for the country’s armed forces.

Elite unit soldier Bassam Jawhar, 29, was killed on July 14 during the ongoing battles around Nahr al-Bared refugee camp where Fatah al-Islam militants have been under army siege since May 20.

He was killed when a booby-trapped building collapsed on a patrol in Nahr al-Bared and it took the army six days to retrieve his body from under the rubble due to the intensity of the battles.

Like Jawhar, six other soldiers from Bebnin fell in combat in Nahr al-Bared in two months.

At his family home in the village, his widow Mariam, wearing a black dress and an embroidered headscarf, sits near the giant portrait of the “Shahid” (martyr in Arabic) standing proudly in full combat gear and holding a rocket-launcher.
“I delivered our baby the day he left, 50 days ago exactly,” said Mariam, 23. “He only saw the baby twice.”

Why was Jawhar killed? Because pro Syrian/Iranian militias from within the refugee camp decided to flex muscle, to flaunt how little they care for Lebanon… or for their own people, for that matter.

In another room, the grandfather holds his newly-born granddaughter in his arms as an endless queue of men flock in to present their condolences.

The procession takes place in silence, but anger is boiling.

“Don’t say Fatah al-Islam, it is an insult to Islam. Say ‘the criminal gang of Shaker al-Abssi,’” the Islamist group’s commander, said Mohammed Jawhar, a cousin of the slain soldier.

Across the dusty villages of the impoverished northern province of Akkar, the men enroll in the country’s armed forces by local tradition but mostly by necessity.

“There is not a single house where there is no soldier,” explained 42-year-old Zeina Sufain, who lost her 19-year-old son Firas on May 22.

“There is no work here. Even for those who go to school,” she said.

The list of soldiers killed in Nahr al-Bared has painfully reached 116, including 27 servicemen on the first day of the clashes when the Islamist extremists attacked most of them in their beds.

116 soldiers died defending their country from the enemy… within. Yes… the enemy is within Lebanon, within the refugee camps which for about 40 years now have been independent enclaves where neither the Lebanese police nor the Lebanese Army were allowed to go in, by mutual agreement, and this is their show of gratitude…

Reports of “massacres” against off-duty soldiers by Fatah al-Islam, including harrowing stories of servicemen executed at gunpoint or slaughtered with knives seemed to have at least momentarily ended decades of good relations with the Palestinian refugee camp.

“Let them go to hell,” shouted Sahar, Bassam’s aunt.
“We will never let the camp be rebuilt. We will never accept that the Palestinians come back. We used to buy from their shops, but they are traitors. They harbored these criminals, they helped them,” Mohammed Jawhar said.

“Some of them even married their girls to the terrorists” from Fatah al-Islam, shouted another man.

But despite their grief and great losses, Akkar villages continue to back the army and its military campaign on Nahr al-Bared.

“In Akkar we love the army,” said a cousin of one of the slain soldiers in Bebnin.

But in a poor house further down the street, Zeina Soufain voices rare criticism of the army.
“They sent them (soldiers) there (to Nahr al-Bared) like cannon fodder. They had no experience, and they only had a Kalashnikov,” she said.

Back at the Jawhar reception hall, a soldier came to present his condolences before returning to Nahr al-Bared after a six-hour leave, his first in 14 days.

“Morale is high, even the wounded soldiers want to return” to the battlefront, the soldier who did not wish to be identified told Agence France Presse.

“With our meagre means, we are combating a very well-trained enemy that kills with unbelievable savagery,” he said.

The soldier said the army was surprised by the “very sophisticated arms” of Fatah al-Islam which he said had “high-precision rifles, infra-red goggles and remote-controlled landmines.”

He said the soldiers “stay three days in the camp. They take turns to sleep. Then they leave and others replace them.”

Over the last few months we saw not only Palestinians fight savagely, ruthlessly, against Palestinians (Hamas vs. Fatah), we see them fight with the same hatred and ferocity against Lebanon, a country that extended its hospitality… Yes, gentle reader, you may argue that Lebanon, like Syria, like Jordan, like Saudi Arabia, like Egypt, did everything possible to keep them poor and unable to integrate into regular society. Let’s not forget however that only Lebanon gave the Palestinian camps sovereignty over their own land, and to what results?

Naharnet also reported today:

Army Seizes Explosives during Raid on Militants’ Shelter
The Lebanese army on Tuesday continued to tighten the noose around diehard Fatah al-Islam militants, pounding the northern Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared with heavy artillery barrages. It The army’s guns bombarded the remaining Islamists’ pockets at the camp with long range artillery fire.

It said troops occasionally fought fierce house-to-house battles with the militants.

The state-run National News Agency said the Lebanese army on Tuesday also seized explosive materials as well as weapons, detonators and electronic devices during a raid on a shelter inside the camp on the outskirts of the northern port city of Tripoli.

It said a number of militants were killed in the attack.

NNA said troops also blocked most exits to a sanitary sewer system after they discovered that it had been used as routes of escape by the terrorists

There was no word on casualties from Tuesday’s fighting. NNA said the army’s guns bombarded the remaining Islamists’ pockets at the camp with long range artillery fire.

It said troops occasionally fought fierce house-to-house battles with the militants.

They do not let up, they are intent in dying and killing. Bloodshed seems to be all they care about! Can a people that embraces such a culture, endure long?

The only Arab country that actually welcomed them and gave them everything necessary to integrate them into their own society was Kuwait. What happened in Kuwait during Saddam’s invasion on August 2, 1990? Who turned out to be Saddam’s greatest cheerleaders in Kuwait? Those same Palestinians that had been received with open arms… such gratitude!

Unless the Palestinians choose a leadership that truly represent the healthy aspirations of the average man on the street, unless they are willing to lay down their weapons, get rid of their hatred against all and everyone they are destined to forever remain a world pariah. Will the plight of Palestinians continue to be dismal or will they succeed in bettering themselves and their future? The choice is theirs!

On Liberal Hatred of the West

Islam Watch, a site run by ex’Muslims has a few interesting things to say about Islam, that are well worth a read, It should be specifically read by those who claim that the US is a fascist entity as explained by Noam Chomsky… the enemy of the West, par excellence! If only they would bother to try and understand, through their own brains and senses, what fascism really is as defined by the creator of the word: Benito Mussolini - the Italian Fascista and Hitler’s ally. In this day and age people are too lazy to think, too lazy to read anything that may differ from whatever comfortable, fashionable, idiocy is being espoused as gospel truth by those with an agenda, by those under the pay of the very people who represent everything that liberalism should stand against. However to ask for an analysis, an explanation of those mantras so fashionably repeated, would be an unfair demand. Why, you ask? Because then one would have to ask these leftards to exert their own brains, which unfortunately have hopelessly atrophied due to their lack of use.

As long as these political sheep get a chance to scream cutsey slogans, as long as they get the chance to denounce America as the enemy of mankind, they ignore such inconvenient sentiments as these:

Khomeini tells us that:

“Islam says: Whatever good there is exists thanks to the sword and in the shadow of the sword! People cannot be made obedient except with the sword! The sword is the key to paradise, which can be opened only for holy warriors!

There are hundreds of other [Koranic] psalms and hadiths urging Muslims to value war and to fight. Does all that mean that Islam is a religion that prevents men from waging war? I spit upon those foolish souls who make such a claim.”

“Islam grew with blood . . . . The great prophet of Islam in one hand carried the Koran and in the other a sword . . . . Islam is a religion of blood for the infidels but a religion of guidance for other people.”

—Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

But of all the ideologues whose works were a source of radical inspiration to tens, if not hundreds, if not millions, Maududi is the most direct and unambiguous in his description of Islam’s ultimate aspirations:

“Islam is not a normal religion like the other religions in the world and Muslim nations are not like normal nations. Muslim nations are very special because they have a command from Allah to rule the entire world and to be over every nation in the world.”

“Islam wishes to destroy all States and Governments anywhere on the face of the earth which are opposed to the ideology and programme of Islam regardless of the country or the Nation which rules it. The purpose of Islam is to set up a State on the basis of its own ideology and programme, regardless of which Nation assumes the role of the standard bearer of Islam or the rule of which nation is undermined in the process of the establishment of an ideological Islamic State.”

“Islam is a revolutionary faith that comes to destroy any government made by man. Islam doesn’t look for a nation to be in a better condition than another nation. Islam doesn’t care about the land or who owns the land. The goal of Islam is to rule the entire world and submit all of mankind to the faith of Islam. Any nation or power that gets in the way of that goal, Islam will fight and destroy. In order to fulfill that goal, Islam can use every power available every way it can be used to bring worldwide revolution. This is Jihad.”

—Sayeed Abdul A’la Maududi, ‘Jihad in Islam’

The following comments, by other prominent Muslims, leave us in no doubt how widely these views are held.

“One day, millions of men will leave the Southern Hemisphere to go to the Northern Hemisphere. And they will not go there as friends. Because they will go there to conquer it. And they will conquer it with their sons. The wombs of our women will give us victory.”
—Former Algerian President Houari Boumedienne’s prophetic warning to Europe in a speech at the U.N. In 1974. Thirty three years later, his prediction is in the process of unfolding.

“Soon we will take power in this country. Those who criticize us now, will regret it. They will have to serve us. Prepare, for the hour is near.”
— Belgium-based imam in 1994. “De Morgen”, Oct. 5, 1994. Cited in Koenraad Elst, “The Rushdie Rules”, Middle East Quarterly, June 1998.

“The Quran should be America’s highest authority”. “Islam is not in America to be equal to any other religion but to be dominant.”
— Omar Ahmad, CAIR’s (Council on American-Islamic Relations) chairman of the board.

“I would like to see the Islamic flag fly, not only over number 10 Downing Street, but over the whole world,”
— Sheikh Omar Bakri Mohammed, (former leader of the extremist Al-Muhajiroun movement in Britain) in an interview with Reuters.

“I want to see the U.S become an Islamic nation.” —-Ibrahim Hooper of CAIR.

“We are not fighting so that you will offer us something. We are fighting to eliminate you.”
—Hussein Massawi, the former Hezbollah leader behind the slaughter of U.S. and French forces 20 years ago.

“Jihad and the rifle alone. NO negotiations, NO conferences and NO dialogue.”
—Sheikh Abdullah Azzam— (Osama bin Laden’s late mentor.)

“Allah revealed Islam in order that humanity could be governed according to it. Unbelief is darkness and disorder. So the unbelievers, if they are not suppressed, create disorder. That is why the Muslims are responsible for the implementation of Allah’s Law on the planet, that humanity may be governed by it, as opposed to corrupt man-made laws. The Muslims must make all efforts to establish the religion of Allah on the earth”
—Muhammad ‘Abdus Salam Faraj, “Jihad: The Absent Obligation”, p43

The enemies of America, the enemies of the West, the appeaser and false “intellectuals” will not react as they should to such statements. When Hitler told the world what he planned to do, nobody believed. Why? Because to believe him was inconvenient, uncomfortable. Nevertheless he went ahead and did just what he said he would. WWII saw the total mobilization of 100,000,000 men between all the armies, militias and underground resistance groups. Such numbers boggle the mind, yet had we only heeded Adolf Hitler’s words when he uttered them, had we taken appropriate action as soon as he spewed his venom WWII never would have taken place. Sixty million people died in WWII, twenty million soldiers and forty million civilians who were systematically exterminated because of their etnicity or creed, or who died due to disease, starvation, massacres and actual fighting.

Ahmedinajad makes no secret of his plans, Osama bin Laden whose terrorist organization is supposed to be at pre-9/11 levels of preparedness makes nmo secret of his designs, Hamas tells it like it is they clearly state that their aim is to to destroy every Jew in the Middle East and take over the Zionist Entity as a prelude to taking over Europe… yet… the enlightened members of the extreme Left do not care to see that danger. They would rather, like a cancer within, eat away at that which is beautiful in the West. None of the great Empires in history were destroyed in battle as much as they were destroyed from within. Will it again take the staggering number of hundreds of millions of dead to defeat an enemy that can still be defeated at an infinitely lower price, as we speak? Will Europe’s and the US’ left wake up in time, or is too already late?

In their own words, straight from the horse’s mouth they say: Islam is a revolutionary faith that comes to destroy any government made by man. This is Jihad. Yet, the left is too busy defending those they should oppose the most, too busy opposing those they should defend the most. Alas, I shudder to think what catastrophe will it take to wake them up?

When Violence Becomes Culture

Webster’s Dictionary provides various definitions for the word culture, among them, these two stand out:
the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization
the set of values, conventions, or social practices associated with a particular field, activity, or societal characteristic.

If we look at the circumstances and situations pervading life in the PA today, we immediately recognize how the first of the above two definitions has taken over over everyday life. Not only do children’s programming on TV extol the virtues of killing Jews and dying for Allah, not only do official PA institutions (whether they are run by Hamas , or by “moderate” Fatah), glorify murder and suicide, but these seem to become more and more the set of shared attitudes, values, goals, and practices that characterizes an institution or organization. What the PA leaders do not seem to realize (or if they do they are certainly cynically malicious mind manipulators) is that when you preach death and suicide against an enemy that hatred engenders another hatred worse by far and that is hatred for those who do not agree with the particular gang’s leadership. When life is of little value, then so is the life of foe or friend also… of little value.

Hence, we see a situation within the PA where their society is fast deteriorating and destroying whatever achievements they have made. Yet the MSM around the world does not focus on the these culture that may yet lead to the total disintegration of Palestinian society and their aspirations for an independent entity. The MSM ignores the fact that murder, kidnappings, and hatred for both the Zionist Entity and for one’s opponents competitors have become the set of values, conventions, or social practices associated with a particular field, activity, or societal characteristic. The institution that was supposed to alleviate the problems and lead to an improvement in everyday life, has instead created a new hell on earth.

The PA, as it exists today may be a threat to Israel, but it is no less a threat to itself. In the last elections, the Palestinians grew tired of the greed and corruption rampant among Arafat’s heirs, cronies and relatives in Fatah. Hoping for a healthy change, they voted for Hamas. Yes Hamas was known as a terror gang vis a vis the Zionist Entity and that might present a problem in the future, reasoned the average Palestinian, but Hamas’ hands were clean and they represented a new approach to domestic problems. They did present a new approach… indeed!

Claiming that there was no money coming in (although the amount of foreign in 2006 exceeded 2005 by 250%), they pulled out of all the civilian programs that were going active when they came in. We all remember how barely 6 weeks ago there was a massive sewage break down in one of the main villages in Gaza. Even though money had been earmarked for that project, before Hamas came to power, and work had actually started. The corruption that the Palestinian electorate had voted to stamp out, not only did not disappear but now greed and corruption acquired a much bigger appetite!

After some serious and dangerous infighting, the Mecca agreement seemingly managed to produce a unity government between Hamas and “moderate” Fatah. The kidnappings, the murders did not stop however. After a very brief lull they continue with greater frequency, with greater fury… while the Palestinian street suffers. Schoolbooks contain more passages of hatred towards Jews, more passages extolling the virtues of shihadism than they do about the three Rs. TV programming in spite of assurances and signatures to the contrary continue to bait the Zionist Entity, continue to praise and glorify murderous suicide bombers. Their families receive stipends after their shihadis deaths, as the families of heroes. Mothers speak of their happiness that their sons died while fighting and/or killing dem Jooz little caring that the whole point of bringing their children into this world was not for them to serve as cannon fodder. Every normal intelligent, caring, hard working parent (regardless of ethnicity, regardless of religious creed, regardless of skin color) wants and toils for happiness and prosperity for his/her offspring. Here, instead, we meet a culture where death seems to be the ultimate goal!

Can a culture of death, truly endure? Can a people exist where life has little value, because it is hell? While the ruling elite live in brand new majestic villas, the average Palestinian family makes do with a few rooms in very simple structures too small for most families. In a society where almost 14% of the population is “employed” by the government and most are not receiving their wages, it’s no wonder lawlessness reigns supreme! In a society that cares little for cultivating the land (yes, folks the land is capable of producing much. Until Olmert’s disastrous disengagement, Jewish farmers were enjoying a $100,000,000.00 a year economy!!!), but cares more about religious instructions that teach it to kill, there is no future.

Yet we can not in all fairness put a 100% of the blame squarely on the shoulders of the PA. The fact is, they have strong allies… the “useful idiots” in the West - also known as the mainstream media! Kassam rockets have been raining on the Israeli town of Sderot (well within the pre-1967 Israeli borders) from the Gaza strip non stop since the beginning of last summers truce. Over the last two days it has intensified as never before. There is serious material damage to buildings, there are dozens of wounded, hundreds evacuated, schools are closed, as are many businesses in Sderot, but the Western MSM has not chosen to cover this. In the last two days of Hamas-Fatah clashes there have been 41 dead among both forces, there have been hundreds of wounded and a freshly brokered truce has been shattered by Hamas’ killing six bodyguards of the Fatah’s Chief of Security. Wednesday alone, the fire exchanges throughout Gaza claimed 20 dead and 35 wounded. Yet the Western MSM did not bother to mention any of this in their headlines, in their front pages. Instead they only mentioned that Israel launched an air strike that killed 4 Palestinians. Not much mention of why, that obviously was not important, in fact to mention that Israel was aiming to stop the Kassam attacks would not be in keeping with the MSM culture of bias, its culture of lies, its culture of appeasement.

Western MSM would not even mention Israel’s helping hand towards the Palestinian wounded. It might show Israel in a favorable light, how could the mainstream media continue to demonize the Zionist Entity, then?

Magen David Adom paramedics were cooperating with Palestinian rescue workers on Wednesday to evacuate Palestinian victims of the increasing Hamas-Fatah violence.

MDA ambulances waited at the Erez Crossing to Gaza to pick up an evacuate a 10-year-old girl suffering from a head wound, as well as three others wounded in their lower body, to Israeli hospitals.

Had the MSM told the whole story as it happened, without skipping any details (no matter how inconvenient!) the result might been to add pressure on the corrupt Hamas and Fatah leaders and foce them to change their ways by exposing them. Had the MSM relentlessly told the truth, it might have paved the way for a new Palestinian leadership that might actually work towards the goal of bettering the plight of the average man on the street. A new leadership that might stem the exodus of Palestinian youth and intellectuals for whom the corruption and violence make life hopeless and unbearable. When one fails to condemn oppression, corruption, greed and violence, the very silence becomes an encouragement for the perpetrators to continue. The violence in the PA is not only part of the PA culture, by extension that very culture permeates the Western MSM, too cowardly to mention it.

Bomber kills 3 Israelis at Red Sea resort bakery

Truce keeping as usual:

EILAT, Israel–Israeli aircraft bombed a tunnel near the Gaza-Israel border early today in response to the first suicide attack inside the country in nine months, the military said.

The air strike came a day after a Palestinian bomber killed three Israelis at a bakery in the Red Sea resort town of Eilat. The two radical groups that claimed to have sent the suicide bomber said they were trying to end weeks of Palestinian infighting by taking aim at Israel instead.

Israel has observed a truce with the Palestinians in Gaza since late November. But today's air strike signalled the Eilat bombing had put that ceasefire in danger.

The Israeli army said militants planned to use the tunnel near Gaza's Karni crossing for an attack on Israel. No casualties were reported in the air strike.

Yesterday's bombing in Eilat was praised by the Palestinians' governing Hamas movement as legitimate resistance – a position sure to hurt efforts to end a crippling economic boycott imposed by the international community.

Bombs and Bagels. This is why you never legitimize a terrorist organization by giving it political power.

Abbas Terms Hamas Forces "illegal" As Violence Continues

AP photo
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday termed "illegal" the Hamas-controlled armed Executive Force, unless the members are integrated into official security services.

His remarks came amid ongoing internal Palestinian violence.

During the last week, Fatah and Hamas have both conducted kidnapping operations in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, mostly targeting each other's members. A Peruvian photographer, working for the French news agency AFP, was also kidnapped and remains in captivity.

So the idea here seems to be who is more illegal: Fatah or Hamas? As long as they act like terrorists, neither means squat to me.

Terrorists will Not be Released for Holiday

Cpl. Gilad Shalit
Dread "locked" holiday:

IsraelNN.com--Israel will not release Arab prisoners for the Muslim holiday of Eid el Adha. Last week, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert promised Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas that he would consider such a move as a goodwill gesture, but the prime minister has not yet held a meeting on the subject, and the Muslim holiday begins on Saturday. "If there is no discussion there will be no release," said a senior figure in the Prime Minister's Office.

Other sources said the prime minister decided on Friday morning not to release Arab prisoners before kidnapped IDF soldier Cpl. Gilad Shalit was freed. A senior official in the Prime Minister's Office responded to the Arab complaints about Olmert's decision, saying "instead of expressing regret, if these officials would abide by the cease-fire, maybe they would get prisoners."

Go Olmert Go! Perhaps had the Palestinians thought of releasing Gilad for Hannukah or even, Yahweh forbid, Christmas, they could be held in good faith.

But given that during the ceasefire there have been over 60 rockets fired from Palestine, does anyone doubt Olmert's judgement? (Besides the UN and all of Islam.)

Al-Qaeda's No. 2 Urges Palestinians to Use Jihad, Not Elections

Click For Video

Al-Azwahiri declares Jihad on Palestine? Is he for Hamas or Fatah?

Dec. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Al-Qaeda's second in command, Ayman al-Zawahiri, urged Palestinians to reject elections and wage Islamic holy war to ``liberate Palestine,'' warning that attempts to form a national unity government will fail.

``Any road other than jihad will only lead to loss and failure,'' al-Zawahiri said in a videotaped message broadcast today on the Qatar-based al-Jazeera television channel.

``Anyone trying to liberate the land of Islam through elections based on secular constitutions or on decisions to surrender Palestine to the Jews will not free a grain of sand,'' he said.

He's a little off point - I thought this escalation in violence in Gaza was over power and is Arab on Arab. Once again the irrational Muslim terrorist grabs an opportunity to blight the world again with his existence.

It kind of puts the same bad taste in my mouth as those Britney Spears photos...Oh! please...DO NOT e-mail any pictures of Al-Z without his panties ( at least none you wouldn't want to see posted here (wink!!)--thanks.

Gaza Cease-Fire Ends

Click for Video
From Military.com:

As If...

GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Palestinian gunmen waged a street battle outside the residence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas around dawn Monday, dashing hopes that an overnight truce would bring quiet to the Gaza Strip.

The rival factions Hamas and Fatah are fighting for control over the Palestinian government, and the volatile coastal territory was buffeted by violence all day Sunday. Three people were killed in Sunday's fighting, in which gunmen shot up the Palestinian foreign minister's convoy and militants launched mortar shells at Abbas' office.

Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh has accused Abbas of inflaming the political crisis by calling for early elections and said his Hamas group would boycott the poll. Abbas, a moderate from Fatah, called for new elections to resolve the political deadlock that has paralyzed the Palestinian government since the hardline Hamas militants won January parliamentary elections.

An overnight truce? The Arabs couldn't hold an overnight truce against each other. I'm not so sure this is news. But if AP thinks so...

Meanwhile the people brace for civil war...

"Abbas's speech demanding new elections was the turning point. That was the green light for further escalations, for more chaos," says al-Abed. In the background, his four-year-old son is playing a game on the computer, his two pre-teen daughters bring coffee.

The best part of waking up is chaos in your cup...

Gunmen kill Hamas commander in Gaza

click for related video
The pattern of Arab on Arab violence continues now in Palestine.

KHAN YOUNIS, Gaza Strip - Palestinian gunmen ambushed a Hamas commander outside a Gaza courthouse Wednesday, forcing him to his knees and killing him gangland-style in an attack that threatened to push Hamas and Fatah closer to civil war.

On Wednesday morning, four gunmen calmly ate breakfast at a food stand outside the courthouse in the southern Gaza town of Khan Younis as they lay in wait for Bassam al-Fara, 30, a judge at the Islamic court, witnesses said.

When al-Fara, who belongs to the largest clan in Khan Younis, emerged from a taxi, three men grabbed him and forced him to his knees, while the fourth shot him, the witnesses said. The attack left his body and the sidewalk riddled with bullet holes. The witnesses declined to be identified, fearing for their safety.

What's the old saying,"Kill them all, let God sort them out..."? It seems that left to themselves Arab and Islamic Militants will do this all by themselves.

'We saw legs, heads and hands scattered' - America Threatened

'We saw legs, heads and hands scattered'

Nice Al-Reuters headline and nice how they fail to state that the attack was in response to rockets being fired into Israel from that location. Of course the question remains: did the Israeli rockets malfunction? Remember it is always Israel's fault...that is if it isn't America's fault FIRST.

Beit Hanun, Gaza: Israeli artillery shells killed at least 18 Palestinian civilians in northern Gaza on Wednesday, local officials and witnesses said, prompting swift vows of retaliation from Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

It was the deadliest single Israeli attack on Palestinians in four years.

"We saw legs, we saw heads, we saw hands scattered in the street," said Attaf Hamad, 22, in Beit Hanun, a town in the northern Gaza Strip.

The strike was condemned across Europe and the Middle East. But an initial response by the United States stopped short of reprimanding Israel.

Israeli Defence Minister Amir Peretz ordered an inquiry, and a halt to shelling in Gaza until the investigation was complete. Some of the dead were killed in bed as shells struck seven houses, and others rushed outside but found no safety.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas spoke of a "horrible and ugly massacre".

Khalid Mesha'al, leader of the governing Hamas, urged retaliation.

"All Palestinian groups are urged to activate resistance despite the difficult situation on the ground. Our confidence in our military wing to respond is great," said Mesha'al, who is based in Damascus.

The Islamic Jihad group, which never accepted the ceasefire brokered by Abbas and Egypt, vowed to carry out suicide bombings in response to the Beit Hanun strike.

Hamas's armed wing, decrying Washington's "political and financial support" for Israel, appeared to call on Muslims to attack US targets, urging them "to teach the American enemy harsh lessons".

In a rare show of unity, Abbas and Prime Minister Esmail Haniya of Hamas donated blood together and visited a hospital in northern Gaza treating some of Beit Hanun's 54 wounded.

Isn't that touching. Here's an idea...how about stopping attacking Israel and blaming America? I'm sure blood donations would go WAY DOWN if you did.

Female Palestinian Homicide Bomber

Female Homicide BomberIslamic Jihad is taking credit for sending a teenaged female suicide/homicide bomber to blow herself up in an attempt to kill Israeli Soldiers.

GAZA CITY (AFP) - A Palestinian teenage girl has blown herself up in an attack against Israeli troops, as Israel pressed an offensive in the Gaza Strip that has left 55 Palestinians and one soldier dead in six days.

Four Palestinians, including three militants from the armed wing of the ruling Ham–as party, were killed by Israeli troops as a fourth Pal–estinian succumbed to his wounds and the woman staged a suicide bombing.

Woman in suicide attack as Gaza death toll tops 50

An Israeli soldier was lightly wounded …

Nevertheless Defence Minister Amir Peretz vowed that Israel’s Operation Autumn Clouds would continue until its objective to lessen rocket attacks on the Jewish state was met. Israel launched its latest blitz aiming to stop militants from launching rockets into its territory, but 36 such rockets have struck the Jewish state since last Wednesday….

"Soldiers called on the woman to stop, then she blew herself up," an Israeli army spokesman said.

Angel, of Woman Honor Thyself notes that the media is referring to the Islamic Jihad as an 'ultra radical group'. Ultra-radical? How much more radical is that from 'radical islamic groups'? It must be a lot more radical than just plain ol' jihadists.

Palestinian Suicide AttackThe picture on the left shows smoke billowing from the Gaza district in which the teenaged girl blew herself up.

Angel also comments on the danger these kinds of actions put all muslim women in. They female suicide bombers, who can hide their bombs under their billowing burkas.

And…Who cares if they have now successfully put all A-rab women at risk. If they get shot at, they can always accuse the Israelis of gunning for ahem…”innocent civilians, like women and children” eh?

Remember a couple of days ago when armed Palestinian men who had been firing upon Israeli Soldiers from a mosque called out for the women to protect them. They sent for the women to come to the mosque and act as human shields and escort the men out of the situation? A few of the women were shot while escorting their males from the mosque. It was immediately reported that Israeli troops shot the women. Is there any surprise that now it appears it was the Palestinian men who actually shot them so they could blame Israelis for doing it? It's certainly not the first time they have killed their own people just to be able to accuse Israelis of doing it.

That's a pattern of behavior we've seen many times before.

female suicide bomberWhat kind of men use women to hide behind or send teenaged girls to blow themselves up to fight against trained Soldiers? What kind of men would put their women in danger in order to protect themselves? It's inconceivable.

In the midst of all this escalating violence between Hamas and Israel, different factions of the Palestinian government are having talks about changing their government in an attempt to get the West to ease sanctions against the Hamas-led government.

The assumption seems to be that it is Hamas that is the problem in Palestine, as opposed to Palestine.

In comments ahead of his expected meeting with Abbas, Haniyeh said Hamas wanted a unity government dedicated to "lifting the siege and ending the suffering of the Palestinian people".

But Hamas spokesmen have stressed it will never recognize Israel or join a government that did, rejecting one of the main conditions set by the "Quartet" of Middle East peace brokers for renewing direct aid to the Palestinian Authority.

Hamad did not say whether Hamas's candidate belonged to the movement, which advocates Israel's destruction. [source]

So much for making any real changes in their government. It sounds like more of the same, just with different names.

Newsflash: "Islam is Allah's favorite religion"

Commenting on the Pope's recent remark, Gaza preacher Sheikh Abu Saqer said:
"The day will soon come when the green flag of La Illah Illah Allah (There is no god but Allah) and Muhammad Rasul Allah (Muhammad is the prophet of Allah) will be raised upon the Vatican and all around the world and on the fortresses of those who want to destroy Islam, because they know that this religion obliges them to face the truth that Islam is Allah's favorite religion. And until they join Islam, hell is their last station."

Saqer claimed he did not condone violence. He blamed the pope for recent anti-Christian attacks in the Palestinian territories.

"We are deeply sorry for these acts that we condemn," he said. "But I am sorry that this little racist did not think of the consequences upon the Christians in the Arab world when he insulted our prophet. It is an open war – the Muslims against all the others."

I disagree. It is an open war--the freedom of religion, thought, speech and expression, against Islamofascism. How about this...we'll stop insulting their prophet when they stop insulting our intelligence...OK?

Israel Keeps The Money

Originally sourced from Maan News Agency-

Israel Will Not Return Money Seized in Raids on Money Changing Shops Last Week

The Israeli court ruled Friday that Israeli authorities could keep the six million NIS (1,388,888.90USD) they seized from money changing stores in the West Bank cities of Nablus, Ramallah, Jenin and Tulkarem on September 20th, 2006.

According to Israeli authorities, the money belonged to the Islamic Jihad movement and will be used to compensate 17 families for family members they lost during the Palestinian bomb attack at Megiddo four years ago. The families are asking for roughly 400,000 NIS (93,023.00USD), which leaves 5,600,000NIS (1,302,325.60USD) in excess.

Do you know how hard it is to get a Jew to give up money?
