Islamic activists in Europe have taken a leaf out of the old Communist guidebook for the "long march through the institutions." In Antwerp, for example, the City Council has been infiltrated by Islamist fundamentalists -- Belgian citizens, of course -- who keep pushing the envelope with impunity.From the British city of Leeds to Livorno in Italy and from Luxembourg to Ljubljana in Slovenia, multiculturalism is pretty much a bust. Quicksand is the only common ground between Western values and militant Muslim fundamentalism. But some Islamist extremists have found willing partners among leftist radicals who never got over the end of the Cold War -- and jump at any opportunity to rumble against whatever government is in power.

Some of these mindless, mantra repeating, liberal sheep have been so indoctrinated and so robbed of their independent thinking faculties as to be totally unable to see or understand that the destruction of the West will in its stead bring about the most repressive society ever known to mankind. However, since both history and current events are being fully revised to meet an agenda, in a way one can not blame the mindless sheep. Let's face it, they were never taught the truth. Their thinking abilities have been totally atrophied by their music, their drugs and their quest for instant gratification. Thought and real education have been been supplanted by visual images and twisted truths.

In Germany, the weekly Der Spiegel documented case after case of Muslims, and local German benefactors or sympathizers, busy paving the way for a Muslim "parallel" society. A Moroccan-born, 26-year-old German who had been subjected to her husband's "corporal punishment" and was denied grounds for divorce triggered a nationwide cry of outrage.

Judge Christa Datz-Winter of Frankfurt's family court even quoted the Koran -- Sura 4, verse 34 -- when she wrote in her decision the Muslim Holy Book contains "both the husband's right to use corporal punishment against a disobedient wife and the establishment of the husband's superiority over the wife."

Der Spiegel, Germany's foremost news magazine, commented, "In one fell swoop, Germany's Muslims took a substantial bite out of the legal foundations of Western civilization." Yet some liberal judges see Muslim subcultures as mitigating circumstances. "Polygamous marriages must be recognized if they are legal under the laws of the native country of the individuals in question," the Federal Ministry for Social Affairs instructed insurance agencies in 2004. Thus, Muslim men were allowed to add additional wives to government health-insurance policies without paying an additional premium. This was later reversed.

If and when Sharia law and Muslim culture become the law of the land in Germany then that judge will be fully justified in applying the law in the misguided way she did. Up until then, as a judge in Germany, she is obligated to apply German law - as it still is the law of the land. Ethnic culture be damned, murder whether committed by a Christian, a Jew, or a Muslim is simply murder. The culture of the culprit should be meaningless before the law of the land... Justice if it is truly to be called justice, must be blind to any differences in skin color, creed or ethnicity. Yet, some judges while tripping over themselves for the sake of multiculturalism see it differently.

While I can understand that someone coming from a culture where polygamous marriages are the norm should not be made to divorce all his wives, except one, to burden the whole of society with the cost of insurance and social services for these individuals without them having to pay anything additional is an unjust encroachment onto the majority taxpayer. There is no question that minorities must be protected from majorities who may otherwise feel put upon, however to giver that minority rights above the ones enjoyed by the majority will soon convert that society into a dictatorship of the minority.

Zero tolerance for intolerance has gone the way of the Dodo. Now, misguided tolerance has spawned liberal opinions that categorize Muslim honor killings as manslaughter, not murder. Some Islamic experts in German universities are already asking whether Sharia law, or Islamic law, is gradually infecting German law. Muslims are now authorized to take their kids out of swimming lessons, and prayer breaks for Muslims have won out in industrial plants. A year after the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks in the United States, a Muslim religious leader in Hesse issued what became known as the "camel fatwa." A Muslim woman could travel no more than 49 miles from the home of her husband or parents without being accompanied by a male blood relative. That was the distance a camel caravan could travel within 24 hours in the days of the Prophet Mohammad.

The idea of multiculturalism was formulated in order to bring understanding for minorities and in order to aid in their acculturation into society as a whole. IslamoFascists have amply demonstrated they have no interest in multiculturalism, nor will it them them who will eventually acculturate, as far they are concerned it is society at large that must acculturate into Muslim society, culture and Sharia law. It is the infidel majority that must blend into their society or perish...

While men may travel by themselves as far as they wish, unaccompanied, Muslim women (whose treatment within their society shows they are considered subhuman) may not stray too far. After all... they are merely chattel. Will the West ever wake up? Will those who so stridently and ignorantly denounce Western civilization as a scourge of mankind, ever take off their blinders and open their eyes?

Conservatives see the multicultural illusions of recent decades as naïve. Islamists are not interested in cultural diversity.

The European cult of appeasement has given free rein to radical imams whose only goal is to Islamicize Christian Europe. The terrain is fertile. Only 20 percent of Europe's Christians attend church services on Sunday, but mosques are packed with worshippers on Fridays, where sermons are political paeans to the courageous jihadis in Iraq and Afghanistan. The fact they are fighting American and NATO troops (including Germans) is left unmentioned. But Judge Klaus Feldmann of the Potsdam District Court outside Berlin ruled that ZDF public television had to delete reference on its Web site to the former imam of Berlin's Mevlana mosque as a "hate preacher."

Death and violence for the sake of religion are encouraged by violent IslamoFascist preachers who speak to full houses, but the European majority, the infidels, care little about spiritual values. And it is precisely the free society that is aiding and abetting those who will yet destroy it.

Judge Datz-Winter was finally removed from the case. But gradual encroachment of fundamentalist Islam continues apace in Britain, Germany, France, the Netherlands, Italy, Spain, Albania, Kosovo and elsewhere. Denmark, where a cartoonist whose work disparaged Prophet Mohammed set off demonstrations in Europe and even riots in the Middle East in September 2005, has taken what for Europe passes for a stern measure: Foreigners who marry Danish women will not be entitled to any welfare-state benefits until their fifth anniversary. German city skylines are sprouting minarets, and irate citizens in several cities have petitioned for a halt to the muezzins' 5 a.m. call to prayers, which wakes up the neighborhood an hour before citizens normally get up to go to work. But judges decreed that since church bells are legal, the muezzins' wailing chants are too.

Europe's churches have provided sanctuaries that welcome illegal Muslims from North and sub-Sahara Africa, as well as the Middle East, where they can stay while their community lawyers move their appeals through local courts. Brussels Journal Editor Paul Belien wrote, "While Western Europe is turning Muslim, its Christian churches are committing suicide." By way of comparison, Saudi Arabia, whose Wahhabi clergy has dispatched missionaries to Western countries, does not allow a single Christian church.

In a way this is no more than a 21st century replay of the decline and fall of the Roman Empire. The Christians were the united, fanatical united newcomers who succeeded in taking over the Roman Empire with nary a fight. The spiritual and moral decadence rampant in Rome accomplished what no military might could have... History has a horrible knack of repeating itself!

In England, in a show of extreme political correctness (H/T: YWL) many schools will no longer teach about the Holocaust, because hate Imans preach that it never happened; the Crusades will also not be taught so as not to cause possible cultural conflicts with that which is taught in mosques. When History is ignored or rewritten to suit the perceived interests of the moment, there is no question that it will repeat itself, but... with a vengeance! But, let's continue with de Borchgrave's article:

The European Union's 27 member countries now house some 20 million Muslims, which is expected to double in less than 20 years. No one is more alarmed about current trends than Pope Benedict, who said recently, "Unfortunately, one must note that Europe seems to be traveling along a road that could lead to its disappearance from history." In a remarkable piece of research and analysis, Russell Shorto, who covers religion for the New York Times Sunday magazine, wrote that the pope's speech last September "that caromed around the world and caused protests in the Middle East and attacks on Christian churches (there) for seeming to say that Islam is a religion of violence, marked a homecoming, albeit an incendiary one." The pontiff's main target is still the spiritual apathy of Europeans.

As Germany's Cardinal Ratzinger, he co-authored a book titled "Without Borders," which pilloried Europe's secular dogma that stripped Europe of its soul: "Not only are we no longer Christian; we're anti-Christian. So we don't know who we are."

Der Spiegel quotes Berlin attorney Seyran Ates: "We are at a crossroads, everywhere in Europe. Do we allow structures that lead straight into a parallel society, or do we demand assimilation into the democratic constitutional state?" The European Union switchboard in Brussels finally located someone who said no such question had been posed to the European Commission.

In 1922 Oswald Spengler published his classic "The Decline of the West" long before anyone knew of the IslamoFascist threat, just read a small paragraph and look at today's Europe, eighty five years later:

The idealist of the early democracy regarded popular education as enlightenment pure and simple---but it is precisely this that smooths the path for the coming Caesars of the world. The last century [the 19th] was the winter of the West, the victory of materialism and scepticism, of socialism, parliamentarianism, and money. But in this century blood and instinct will regain their rights against the power of money and intellect. The era of individualism, liberalism and democracy, of humanitarianism and freedom, is nearing its end. The masses will accept with resignation the victory of the Caesars, the strong men, and will obey them. Life will descend to a level of general uniformity, a new kind of primitivism...

Were his words not prophetic? Spengler had absolutely no divinely given powers of prophecy. However, as a student of history he foresaw that when a society looses its spirituality and instead embraces a cult of self it cannot long endure. A society that demands instant gratification from whatever it engages in, a society short on attention, unable to focus, unable to master the will to fight for survival because none of the values it now embraces are enduring ones, such a society (as history repeatedly shows) is bound for extinction regardless of might, regardless of riches. Why? What values, what mores are prevalent that such a society would consider worth fighting for?

But, gentle reader, not content with patiently sitting out the death throes of the West, the IslamoFascist are impatient and thirsty for blood. Yid With Lid has a very sobering post on Al-Qaeda's call for the reconquest of Spain.

"We will not be in peace until we set our foot again in our beloved al-Andalus," al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb said on claiming responsibility for an attack which killed at least 24 people in Algiers on Wednesday.

Al-Andalus is the Moorish name for Spain, parts of which were ruled by Muslims for about eight centuries until the last Moorish bastion, Granada, succumbed to the Christian Reconquest in 1492.

The terrorists will undoubtedly attempt to extend their offensive from Northern Africa to European soil, anti-terrorism judge Baltasar Garzon warned, cautioning that Spain was at a "very high risk" of suffering an Islamist attack.

The reference to al-Andalus was not the first by al-Qaeda, which has also vowed to put an end to the Spanish "occupation" of the enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla on the Moroccan coast.

Gentle reader, the West though slumbering complacently is not dead yet... It is precisely the IslamoFascist lack of patience that may wake up the West, that may yet cause it to unite us in a renewed show of will and defend its values, its rich culture, its scientific knowledge, its civilization before it is plunged back into the 7th century... if we, the west's denizens are not killed first. Whether the West survives or goes the way of all past great societies depends on us. Are we up for the challenge?

Notker Wolf, the Abbot Primate of the Benedictine Order, in an interview with the German newspaper Welt am Sonntag about the islamization of Germany and Europe:

Welt am Sonntag: What do you think about the influence of Islam on the western world?
Notker Wolf: There are certainly some groups that have set the islamization of Europe as their goal. I think that in itself is a serious thing. In Germany the Turkish association Ditib recently demanded that the «Word on Friday» be broadcast on public television. I only wonder: How can it be that these people demand all rights in Germany for themselves, while at the same time Christians are seriously discriminated in Turkey? Why are we, Christians, not allowed a theological faculty in Turkey? Why are we not allowed to have any church property there? Meanwhile, the mayor of Munich even breaks building regulations to approve a mosque, just to win the votes of the Turks. That is unbelievable! Tolerance is good, but it doesn't mean we should surrender.

The phenomenon of Islamization is starting to become all too apparent, all too dangerous! Will we heed the voices of those who seek to wake us, to shake us out of our lethargic complacency? Will the West go back to its spiritual roots and retake its high-ground?
