Man Charged with Smoking and Drinking During Ramadan
A BAHRAINI man was arrested after he was seen smoking and drinking alcohol in his car during Ramadan fasting hours in Manama, it was revealed yesterday.
Police spotted the man smoking as he was driving his car, said a Public Prosecution spokesman.
The defendant was asked to stop and when the officer searched the car, he found an open bottle of alcohol hidden under his seat, he said.
The medical examination of alcohol count in his blood was negative, he added.
The man was released on BD50 bail, after being charged with eating and drinking during Ramadan.
An alcohol count of negative? And he's still charged? Not with smoking and drinking but EATING and drinking. And yet UK police can't arrest someone WITH AN ARREST WARRANT at prayer time? Such mixed priorities...I'm confused. But not much.
