Telling it like it is

He’s not considered electable, perhaps that is why he’s not afraid to tell it like it is (powerful 4 minute video!):

We are in a global conflict with a force which wants to destroy us. I’ll just give you one example, because our enemies and many of our would-be friends who just don’t understand, always somehow bring it back to Israel…

If there is a civil war in Algeria and 100,000 Muslims are killed, it must be because of Israel.

If there are young girls walking to school killed by the Taliban for the purpose of terrorizing them from going, it must be because of Israel.

If there are six medical doctors living in Great Britain working for the National Health Service plotting terrorist attacks, they must be deranged because of Israel

If there are six terrorists in New Jersey, it’s probably because they once saw a map of Israel. Whatever happens on the planet, it can’t be for the real reason because the real reason is too terrifying.

The fact is, the irreconcilable wing of Islam is quite clear: They want to kill Salmon Rushdie because he expressed free speech. They killed a television producer in Holland because he expressed free speech. They drove a Somali Dutch parliamentarian out of Holland because she expressed free speech.

If they were in charge tonight, not a single woman would be in this room. So let’s be clear:

We have two choices: We can find a way to be reasonable and surrender, or we can defeat them.

Newt Gingrich, as promised in Contract with America (which he co-wrote with six other Republicans), brought an unprecedented set of legislation up for vote during his first one hundred days. He resigned from Congress shortly after the Republicans lost 5 seats in the 1998 Congressional elections and after his personal affair with a 33 year old staffer, Callista Bisek, came to light (an affair he conducted at the same time as Congress investigated and impeached President Clinton for perjury and obstruction of justice in the Paula Jones case). In 2000 he married Ms. Bisek and they currently live in Virginia.

Unlike Nancy “the most powerful woman in the world” Pelosi, Gingrich had more to show for his record of accomplishments of those first 100 days in office than Pelosi and her Democrat majority has accomplished in almost 8 months. The zealousness for reform, the cleanup of corruption, cronyism, and pork barrel legislation Pelosi campaigned on… proved to be just another in a long line of broken campaign promises. Is it any wonder that for the first time in history Congress has a lower popularity rating than the President?

Perhaps now that Gingrich is not in office (and thus beholden to no one!) his words should be noted and carefully pondered upon.

The Road To Surrender

HotAir.com offers a sneak peek at Sunday’s “1/2 Hour News Hour” on Fox.

First they had Limbaugh and Coulter, then Laura Ingraham, now Prager; it looks like cameos by conservative media icons are going to be a weekly thing. Smart money for next Sunday says it’s Hannity.

Exit question: Didn’t the road to surrender really begin with the decision to disband the Iraqi army?

White House Hangs Veto Over Pullout Plan

Pelosi's Hometown paper reports:

WASHINGTON, (AP)House Democratic leaders vowed Thursday to pass legislation setting a deadline of Sept. 1, 2008, for the withdrawal of U.S. combat troops from Iraq, a challenge to President Bush's war policy that drew a blunt veto threat in return.

"It would unnecessarily handcuff our generals on the ground, and it's safe to say it's a non-starter for the president," said White House spokesman Dan Bartlett.

Little more than two months after Democrats took control of the House and Senate, Speaker Nancy Pelosi of California said the bill would set "dates certain for the first time in the Congress for the redeployment of our troops out of Iraq."

Officials said the deadline would be accelerated — possibly to the end of 2007 — if the government of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki failed to meet commitments for taking over security operations, distributing oil revenue and opening his nation's constitution to amendments.

Pelosi said Democrats would add their war-related provisions to the administration's request for nearly $100 billion to pay for the fighting in Iraq and Afghanistan...

The Democrats would be screaming bloody murder if a Republican majority announce it would add it's agenda driven provisions to a Democrat request. I guess what's good for the goose is not good for the gander? I have no doubt it will be vetoed. This is all just political "cut and run". IMHO.

Al Qaeda Sends a Message to Democrats

Posing like a Rock Star
Wierd Al-Z has a new tune for the Dems:

You Owe Us.

In a portion of the tape from al Qaeda No. 2 man, Ayman al Zawahri, made available only today, Zawahri says he has two messages for American Democrats.

"The first is that you aren't the ones who won the midterm elections, nor are the Republicans the ones who lost. Rather, the Mujahideen -- the Muslim Ummah's vanguard in Afghanistan and Iraq -- are the ones who won, and the American forces and their Crusader allies are the ones who lost," Zawahri said, according to a full transcript obtained by ABC News.

Zawahri calls on the Democrats to negotiate with him and Osama bin Laden, not others in the Islamic world who Zawahri says cannot help.

"And if you don't refrain from the foolish American policy of backing Israel, occupying the lands of Islam and stealing the treasures of the Muslims, then await the same fate," he said.

Well it's actually an old song, one we knew was coming since the first week of November.

This guy doesn't waste an opportunity. What can I say? Move over Paris, there's a new media whore in town.

Hat tip to Stop The ACLU.

Taliban: We Defeated the Republicans

hekmatapThe democrats are playing power games and patting themselves on the back while our enemies are viewing their lack of understanding as a defeat against America. Right Voices takes note that the Taliban are claiming victory over the Republicans.

Sniper One comments:

It has to make you feel all warm and happy inside when the enemies of America are bragging they are pleased with the outcome of our mid-term election. It would seem that these people are dancing in the streets and are about to jizz their shorts in honor of Speaker Botox.

From Yahoo News

In a rare video message, Gulbuddin Hekmatyar, a renegade Afghan warlord allied with the Taliban, claimed that American troops will be forced out of
Afghanistan like the Soviets before them.

The leader of the Hezb-e-Islami militant group also touted the Republican Party defeat in last month's midterm elections as a victory for militants fighting in Afghanistan and
Iraq.

"It seems that every bullet that mujahedeen had fired toward the Americans in Iraq and Afghanistan has turned into a vote against Bush," Hekmatyar said in the undated video statement received by AP Television News in Pakistan.

"There is no doubt that is a great victory and success for Afghan and Iraqi mujahedeen," he said. "I am convinced that the fate Soviet Union faced is awaiting America as well."

He goes on to say:

"Very soon we will see that, God willing, American troops will leave Afghanistan and Iraq with their heads bowed down," Hekmatyar said in the video.

Hekmatyar was a leader of the mujahedeen that fought the Soviet occupation of the 1980s and was briefly Afghan prime minister during the civil war of the early 1990s that cost tens of thousands of lives.

It's been a while since we've seen this much violence and aggression out of Afghanistan. Things there had gotten more stable.

We've taken some giant steps backward and I'm very concerned about what will have to happen for us to regain the respect of the world. Meanwhile, the democrats are celebrating like a bunch of adolescents and remaining blissfully ignorant.

Nancy Pelosi Without a Clue on Iraq

PelosiSoon - to - be Speaker of the House and only - two - beats - away - from - the - White - House Nancy Pelosi is 'sad' that President Bush thinks al-Qaida is in Iraq.

The Raw Story

House Speaker-elect Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) told reporters on Wednesday that she feels it is "sad" that President Bush continues to blame Iraqi insurgent violence on al Qaeda.

"My thoughts on the president's representations are well-known," Pelosi said. "The 9/11 Commission dismissed that notion a long time ago and I feel sad that the president is resorting to it again."

The article goes on to state that Major General William Caldwell could not distinctly identify the percentage of al-Qaida in Iraq, giving the impression that his assessment was questionable. However, Major General Caldwell stated his opinion quite clearly.

"We don't see an organization out there that's looking to assume the control of this country, but rather just to create anarchy, to create death, to create destruction, and that's in fact what we're combatting right now," Caldwell said.

and ....

all the governmental functions are still functioning, and we don't see an organization out there that's trying to overthrow and assume control of the government, we don't see two viable entities out there like that, what we see is a(n) entity out there that's been duly elected, representative of the people, that's got plenty of challenges in trying to work through all their difficulties but moving forward nonetheless, and we see another entity that wants to do nothing but create division amongst the people, to create anarchy, to create casualties, to separate them," Caldwell said.

and ...

"What we do know is that al Qaeda in Iraq are the most well-funded, produce the most sensational attacks than any element out there. So that's where we put our predominant effort against."

That sounds like al-Qaida signatures to me. It also sounds like Major General Caldwell was very clear that al-Qaida is operating in Iraq.

But there we go with sound-bite politics again. People will read the headline and the sound-bite and that will be what is believed. At least that's what people like Pelosi hope.

Actually, the part about not attempting to obtain power, but creating chaos, division, anarchy, death and destruction sounds a lot like Ahmadinejad’s Apocalyptic Vision

Bottom line, this playing politics with the security of the nation is getting old and continues to be a very dangerous business.

Sniper One reminds us:

She’s also forgetting about the current leader of Al Qaeda in Iraq, Abu Hamza Al Muhajir, as featured in the sidebar of this blog. Why she would be living in denial of these facts is beyond me.

That reminds me .... remember this unpleasant fella? Yeah, he was in Iraq too. And American Soldiers were the last sight he saw on this earth.

Hot Air:
What a clueless gasbag. She supported Abscam pal Murtha over Hoyer. She almost put an impeached corruptocrat in charge of House Intel. And now she shows the world that she doesn’t know what the tainted 9-11 Commission did and did not study and report on. I had low expectations for Pelosi, yet I still find her dimwitted lurching from one idiotic scene to another surprising.

Wide Awake Cafe
Gee, thanks America, for voting in this ridiculous old woman as Speaker of the House. We need serious people in our halls of government in these dangerous times but Pelosi’s denial that al Qaeda is operating in Iraq is emblematic of what we can expect from this woman for the next two years.

John Conyers And The Muslim Caucus

Conyers & SheehanThis is another lesson in the you get the government you deserve.

This is pretty scary stuff. We have people in Congress who put party above country. Even worse, we have people in Congress who put their own enrichment above anything else, even the safety of the country.

Our allies around the world have a lot to be worried about right now. Will we do to Iraq what we did to South Vietnam? If the dems have their way we will. Will we defend our friends? Not if we won't even defend ourselves.

Does John Conyers believe the alligator will eat him last or does he believe there isn't an alligator at all? Wasn't he here on September 11, 2001? Doesn't he know the threat? Or is he just burying his head in the sand? Perhaps he's just made a deal with the devil.

Whatever the case, we are in for a rough ride. The undermining has already begun. The playing of political games is started without regard for the consequence to our country. I am fearful for the fight we have ahead of us.

Investment.com

Congress: The likely new chairman of the House Judiciary Committee says he's just fighting bigotry in leading a Democrat jihad to deny law enforcement key terror-fighting tools. But he is in the pocket of Islamists.

John Conyers, son of a leftist Detroit union activist, represents the largest Arab population in the country. His district includes Dearborn, Mich., nicknamed "Dearbornistan" by locals fed up with cultural encroachment and terror fears from a steady influx of Mideast immigrants.

Conyers, who runs an Arabic version of his official Web site, does the bidding of these new constituents and the militant Islamist activists who feed off them. They want to kill the Patriot Act and prevent the FBI from profiling Muslim suspects in terror investigations. They also want to end the use of undisclosed evidence against suspected Arab terrorists in deportation proceedings.

And the 77-year-old Conyers has vowed to deliver those changes for them.

"The policies of the Bush administration have sent a wave of fear through our immigrant communities and targeted our Arab and Muslim neighbors," he growls.

He'll soon be in a position to act on his promises. And he has the full backing of the expected speaker of the House. Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., wants to criminalize FBI and Customs Service profiling of Muslim terror suspects.

"Since Sept. 11, many Muslim Americans have been subjected to searches at airports and other locations based upon their religion and national origin," she said. "We must make it illegal."

Conyers, a lawyer by trade, last decade pushed through a bill to help stop what he called "DWB," driving while black. He dubs post-9/11 profiling "flying while Muslim."

Pelosi has also promised Muslims she'll "correct the Patriot Act," one of the most valuable tools the FBI has in ferreting out jihadist cells lurking in Muslim communities.

Conyers is one of the top recipients of donations from the Arab-American Leadership PAC.
And not surprisingly, he has a long history of pandering to Arab and Muslim voters.

During the first Gulf War, for instance, Conyers fought FBI outreach efforts in the Arab and Muslim community in Detroit that were designed to gather intelligence on potential cells and protect the home front. Conyers and other Detroit-area Democrats at the time, David Bonior and John Dingell, threatened to hold hearings unless the FBI stopped counterterrorism interviews.

The FBI met with them privately to explain the national security benefits of outreach, but could not allay their concerns. In the end, the FBI backed off. Today, Hamas, Hezbollah and the al-Qaida-tied Muslim Brotherhood are all active in the area.

Expect Conyers and Pelosi to kick open the doors of Congress to Islamists from the Council on American-Islamic Relations and other militant groups. They will have unfettered access, even though many of their leaders have been tied to terrorism (some CAIR officials have landed in the big house).

In 2003, Conyers hosted the first dinner on the Hill that celebrated the end of Ramadan for such Muslim leaders. It's now a tradition. Incoming Democrat freshman Keith Ellison, a Louis Farrakhan disciple and first Muslim member of Congress, will no doubt expand the invitation list.

Conyers has also sponsored one of the Islamists' favorite bills in Congress. HR 635, which has 40 co-signers, would create a select committee to investigate President Bush for allegedly manipulating prewar intelligence and torturing al-Qaida detainees. The goal of his bill is to build grounds for impeachment.

Conyers led the defense of Bill Clinton in last decade's impeachment hearings and is clearly out for blood. So are many of the constituents he serves.
