Possible Redemption

According to the Lebanese newspaper, A-Saphir, Hizbullah has positioned roughly 50,000 "fighters" along the Lebanese-Israeli border.

If Hassan Nasrallah has the gumption I don't believe he has then Ehud Olmert will get a shot at redemption. If Hizbollah is truly putting a show of force on the border they better be ready to back it up. Somewhere along the line an attack is going to be made whether ordered or not. This attack will force Ehud Olmert to make a decision. The wrong decision and he might as well pack his bags and move to Europe.

The Israelis are going to wait and see. If Olmert gives the green light, what kind of response does the Israeli Military follow with? Right now Israel is faced with the possibility of an all out invasion of Gaza and now, it appears, they may have to do more than just defend the northern border of Israel.

The wild card in Lebanon is the Lebanese governments response. Does it support Hizbollah or does Fuad Saniora help put the pinch on Hizbollah. The latter is the right decision. However Mr. Saniora hasn't shown the spine necessary to make the hard decisions. This is only a hard decision because it involves Israel and there are many Lebanes that don't like Israel. As I wrote in the previous Lebanese affair, Lebanon should stop looking at Israel as an enemy. If it were to ally itself with Israel that would guarantee some protection. Unfortunately Mr. Saniora appears to fear the islamists.

Back to Israel. Ehud Olmert may just get his chance at redemption. I pray that the Almighty has instilled a spine in this man. Then again Mr. Olmert would have to accept that gift. Seeing as he is a true politician, I don't see that he has learned anything. I hope I am wrong.

Overstaying their Welcome?

Naharnet has the following about how public opinion is starting to turn against the Palestinian “refugees” in Lebanon:

Nahr al-Bared Battle Fuels Anti-Palestinian Sentiment
As the list of dead soldiers grows, anger mounts in villages of north Lebanon where the army has been locked in a deadly showdown with Islamist militants for more than two months.

Black-clad women shout angrily as men in sombre mood sit in heavy silence next to portraits of the “martyred” soldiers in impoverished villages in the remote north — a main reservoir for the country’s armed forces.

Elite unit soldier Bassam Jawhar, 29, was killed on July 14 during the ongoing battles around Nahr al-Bared refugee camp where Fatah al-Islam militants have been under army siege since May 20.

He was killed when a booby-trapped building collapsed on a patrol in Nahr al-Bared and it took the army six days to retrieve his body from under the rubble due to the intensity of the battles.

Like Jawhar, six other soldiers from Bebnin fell in combat in Nahr al-Bared in two months.

At his family home in the village, his widow Mariam, wearing a black dress and an embroidered headscarf, sits near the giant portrait of the “Shahid” (martyr in Arabic) standing proudly in full combat gear and holding a rocket-launcher.
“I delivered our baby the day he left, 50 days ago exactly,” said Mariam, 23. “He only saw the baby twice.”

Why was Jawhar killed? Because pro Syrian/Iranian militias from within the refugee camp decided to flex muscle, to flaunt how little they care for Lebanon… or for their own people, for that matter.

In another room, the grandfather holds his newly-born granddaughter in his arms as an endless queue of men flock in to present their condolences.

The procession takes place in silence, but anger is boiling.

“Don’t say Fatah al-Islam, it is an insult to Islam. Say ‘the criminal gang of Shaker al-Abssi,’” the Islamist group’s commander, said Mohammed Jawhar, a cousin of the slain soldier.

Across the dusty villages of the impoverished northern province of Akkar, the men enroll in the country’s armed forces by local tradition but mostly by necessity.

“There is not a single house where there is no soldier,” explained 42-year-old Zeina Sufain, who lost her 19-year-old son Firas on May 22.

“There is no work here. Even for those who go to school,” she said.

The list of soldiers killed in Nahr al-Bared has painfully reached 116, including 27 servicemen on the first day of the clashes when the Islamist extremists attacked most of them in their beds.

116 soldiers died defending their country from the enemy… within. Yes… the enemy is within Lebanon, within the refugee camps which for about 40 years now have been independent enclaves where neither the Lebanese police nor the Lebanese Army were allowed to go in, by mutual agreement, and this is their show of gratitude…

Reports of “massacres” against off-duty soldiers by Fatah al-Islam, including harrowing stories of servicemen executed at gunpoint or slaughtered with knives seemed to have at least momentarily ended decades of good relations with the Palestinian refugee camp.

“Let them go to hell,” shouted Sahar, Bassam’s aunt.
“We will never let the camp be rebuilt. We will never accept that the Palestinians come back. We used to buy from their shops, but they are traitors. They harbored these criminals, they helped them,” Mohammed Jawhar said.

“Some of them even married their girls to the terrorists” from Fatah al-Islam, shouted another man.

But despite their grief and great losses, Akkar villages continue to back the army and its military campaign on Nahr al-Bared.

“In Akkar we love the army,” said a cousin of one of the slain soldiers in Bebnin.

But in a poor house further down the street, Zeina Soufain voices rare criticism of the army.
“They sent them (soldiers) there (to Nahr al-Bared) like cannon fodder. They had no experience, and they only had a Kalashnikov,” she said.

Back at the Jawhar reception hall, a soldier came to present his condolences before returning to Nahr al-Bared after a six-hour leave, his first in 14 days.

“Morale is high, even the wounded soldiers want to return” to the battlefront, the soldier who did not wish to be identified told Agence France Presse.

“With our meagre means, we are combating a very well-trained enemy that kills with unbelievable savagery,” he said.

The soldier said the army was surprised by the “very sophisticated arms” of Fatah al-Islam which he said had “high-precision rifles, infra-red goggles and remote-controlled landmines.”

He said the soldiers “stay three days in the camp. They take turns to sleep. Then they leave and others replace them.”

Over the last few months we saw not only Palestinians fight savagely, ruthlessly, against Palestinians (Hamas vs. Fatah), we see them fight with the same hatred and ferocity against Lebanon, a country that extended its hospitality… Yes, gentle reader, you may argue that Lebanon, like Syria, like Jordan, like Saudi Arabia, like Egypt, did everything possible to keep them poor and unable to integrate into regular society. Let’s not forget however that only Lebanon gave the Palestinian camps sovereignty over their own land, and to what results?

Naharnet also reported today:

Army Seizes Explosives during Raid on Militants’ Shelter
The Lebanese army on Tuesday continued to tighten the noose around diehard Fatah al-Islam militants, pounding the northern Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr al-Bared with heavy artillery barrages. It The army’s guns bombarded the remaining Islamists’ pockets at the camp with long range artillery fire.

It said troops occasionally fought fierce house-to-house battles with the militants.

The state-run National News Agency said the Lebanese army on Tuesday also seized explosive materials as well as weapons, detonators and electronic devices during a raid on a shelter inside the camp on the outskirts of the northern port city of Tripoli.

It said a number of militants were killed in the attack.

NNA said troops also blocked most exits to a sanitary sewer system after they discovered that it had been used as routes of escape by the terrorists

There was no word on casualties from Tuesday’s fighting. NNA said the army’s guns bombarded the remaining Islamists’ pockets at the camp with long range artillery fire.

It said troops occasionally fought fierce house-to-house battles with the militants.

They do not let up, they are intent in dying and killing. Bloodshed seems to be all they care about! Can a people that embraces such a culture, endure long?

The only Arab country that actually welcomed them and gave them everything necessary to integrate them into their own society was Kuwait. What happened in Kuwait during Saddam’s invasion on August 2, 1990? Who turned out to be Saddam’s greatest cheerleaders in Kuwait? Those same Palestinians that had been received with open arms… such gratitude!

Unless the Palestinians choose a leadership that truly represent the healthy aspirations of the average man on the street, unless they are willing to lay down their weapons, get rid of their hatred against all and everyone they are destined to forever remain a world pariah. Will the plight of Palestinians continue to be dismal or will they succeed in bettering themselves and their future? The choice is theirs!

The stakes are higher

To those who have been sleeping or ignoring events in the Middle East, the stakes have risen. The status quo has shifted and the "same ol'" can't be relied on to occur.

Iran is in the process of developing a nuclear ability that will allow it to build destructive weapons. It is lead by a fanatic who believes that he is paving the way for the 12th imam of islamic lore. this maniac has allied himself with a fellow despot in Damascus as well as terror islamic terror organizations in Lebanon, Syria, "Palestine" and Iraq. He has been given support from a tyrant in Venezuela and a fellow maniac in North Korea. Anywhere there is anti-American and anti-Western sympathies, he has made inroads.

His fellow despot in Damascus is throwing out overtures of peace towards Israel for all the world to see while he rearms and redeploys his own military as well as the terror groups in "Palestine" and Lebanon. The world conveniently refuses to acknowledge this. Despite the Syrian army withdrawing from Lebanon, nothing there has really changed. Now the pro-Syrian insurgents and sympathizers can provide cover for the directing coming from Damascus.

As for the "Palestinian territories", Hamas now rules. They too are led out of Damascus. Having received the vote of the people they have attained a certain perceived level of credibility. The ignorant's that live in the west call it a victory for democracy as if an election was all that was needed to obtain democracy. The "palestinians" are the largest receivers of aid in the history of the UN. They receive more money and food than any other. If money is truly what provides affluence and growth, they should have been the most educated and advanced people on the planet. So much for that dated leftist bunk. Hamas has taken over the Gaza Strip. They will soon start agitating in the West Bank. There is nothing that the PLO can do about. Declaring Hamas illegal in the West Bank is like telling a kid he can't have a cookie. Hamas will only be more obstinate and violent. More "Palestinians" will die as a result of their "election". They chose violence and will now face the consequences.

What does all of this mean? Israel's enemies have allied, armed, and are in the process of setting up a full scale attack on the tiny sliver of a nation. There is not one inch of Israeli land that cannot be hit by these enemies. If an invasion were planned out properly, Israel wouldn't have enough arms or soldiers to defend itself without outside help.

If the enemy attempts this during the present tenure of Ehud Olmert it may stand a chance. If it waits until someone like Benjamin Netanyahu, the story changes. What the enemy does is not as important as what Israel will do. Will it defend the promised land or will it hand it back over to the Canaanites and Philistines?

UN Condemns Lebanon for Disproportionate Response

Lebanese army shells refugee camp
(AP Photo/Hussein Malla)

Lebanese army soldiers fire a mortar during clashes
with fighters from the Fatah Islam militant group, at the
Palestinian refugee camp of Nahr el-Bared in the
northern city of Tripoli, Monday May 21, 2007. Lebanese
troops tightened a siege of a Palestinian refugee camp
Monday where a shadowy group suspected of ties to
al-Qaida was holed up, pounding the camp with artillery
a day after the worst eruption of violence since the end
of the country's 1975-90 civil war.
No. No. No. This never happened and won't happen. The UN only condemns the US and Israel.

Here's the latest Official statement from the UN regarding the Lebanese Government shelling of civilian Palestinians:

UN,
Office of the Spokesperson of the Secretary-General,
New York, 21 May 2007,
Statement Attributable to the Spokesperson of the Secretary-General on Lebanon

The Secretary-General is gravely concerned about the fighting in the last two days between Fatah al-Islam gunmen and the Lebanese army. The actions of Fatah al-Islam are an attack on Lebanon's stability and sovereignty. The Secretary-General welcomes the united stand taken by Palestinian factions in Lebanon denouncing these attacks on the Lebanese army. He calls on all sides to do their utmost to protect innocent civilians.

The Secretary-General also strongly condemns yesterday's terrorist bombing in Beirut. He urges the Lebanese to unite in the face of threats to their stability and security.

As Goes Lebanon So Goes the Middle East

Watching the news a moment ago my Beloved Curmudgeon noted that the newscast used and entire 3 minute segment on whether or not the United States had been wiretapping Princess Diana prior to her death in 1997. Following that segment, there was a 30 second segment on the looming crisis in Lebanon.

The crisis in Lebanon is of Biblical proportions and yet it only warrents 30 seconds of time on the evening news.

If Lebanon falls, the middle east will be rocked with even more chaos and anarchy. The jihadists are emboldened, thanks to the perceived weakness of the United States. Of course this has been helped along by the constant undermining by the main stream media, the progressives and the silly report put out by Baker and Hamilton.

Our enemies have tried to warn us repeatedly. Our allies are virtually jumping up and down, waving, trying to get our attention. Still, we sit in front of our television sets and PlayStations and ignore the Global War on Terrorism that is swirling all around us. So far, we have been relatively untouched. Not to worry, our ability to ignore the rest of the world is quickly coming to an end.

If Lebanon falls, the same process will begin in Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait and Egypt. Then the process will begin in France, England and other European countries with large muslim populations. Israel will not likly be able to survive a scenerio of this magnitude. The only way the United States will be able to survive would be to garner an enormous army.

The students so comfortable in their ivy league schools, who so quickly 'protest' anyone who says something they don't like, and then return to their Mercedes to drive to their suburban homes, will have to take a stand on something that REALLY matters. They will be taken out of their comfort zones this time.

It seems that everyone, but America, understands what's at stake. Everyone. It seems that everyone is attempting to wake Americans up. They can't seem to get our attention and are becoming increasingly desperate. Everyone knows America is the only nation capable of dealing with the enormity of this problem. But America sleeps.

Even worse, America is insisting on sending out messages that we are not willing to do what has to be done to end this. We lack the will. Just like every time in the past that we've buried our heads in the sand, more people will die because of our unwillingness to sacrifice even our most meager comforts.

Pope Benedict XVI calls this a grave moment in history. He pleads with the world to pray for Lebanon and provide assistance. He calls the situation grave and urgent.

I also hope that the international community will help to identify urgent pacific and fair solutions necessary for Lebanon and the entire Middle East, while I invite all to prayer during this grave time.”

The Lebanese people are protesting against hezbollah. Following the assasinations of Christian leaders in Lebanon, the protests have intensified.

Cardinal Sfeir , the highest Christian spiritual authority warned that “wars start with words”. He cautioned that the insults and aggressive statements against government individuals are bad news for Lebanon as they spell evil for the future of this country.

Sfeir warned that no one one is thinking about the Lebanese people, whose aim is to survive with their families in harmony and away from violence. But unfortunately these continued protests are making it impossible to survive, since the economy as a result of these protests is in despair.

Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah is trying to warn the world of the dire consequences should Lebanon fall.

"Our Arab region is besieged by a number of dangers, as if it was a powder keg waiting for a spark to explode," he told the rulers of the oil-rich monarchies gathered in Riyadh for a two-day meeting.

Abdullah warned that Lebanon risked sliding into renewed civil strife as a result of the current standoff between pro- and anti-government camps.

"In Lebanon, we see dark clouds threatening the unity of the homeland, which risks sliding again into... conflict among the sons of the same country," he said.

Israeli leaders are watching the situation with a clear understanding of what it means for Israel.

Israeli officials warned Sunday that the fall of the moderate Lebanese government could lead to the establishment of an Iranian proxy state on Israel's northern border and increase the probability of war between the two nations.

~snip~

"If the Saniora government falls, it means that Lebanon will be controlled by the long arm of Iran,"

Lebanon chaos is Israeli nightmare.
JERUSALEM – Israel is deeply troubled by menacing Hezbollah-led mass demonstrations in Beirut, fearing it could lead to a permanent and dominant Iranian-Syrian presence on its northern border.

~snip~

In that event, Iran again would be able to threaten Israel with massive rocket attacks from Lebanon if Israel or the US takes military action against Iran’s nuclear program. In other words, the Iranians again would be able to use their Hezbollah card to deter Israel from trying to stop Iran from going nuclear.

~snip~

“If Hezbollah gains sway in Beirut, Lebanon will become the first Iranian protectorate.”

This dire, urgent, grave, evil situation is unfolding right now and our media determines it should get 30 seconds of coverage in the evening news. The warning signs are everywhere and still America sleeps.. The longer we avoid this conflict, the more will die because of it.

Raven at And Rightly So calls these our Days of Infamy.

I got to thinking…the winds of weakness are coming over America once again. With the Lemoncrats ™ in charge of the House now, and that Iraq Study Group report upon us- have we forgotten the days of our infamy? Does December 7th and September 11th have any pull at all, anymore?

I think not.

Hezbollah Is Ready

It was never a secret that Syria and Iran have been helping Hezbollah replenish its weapons stock. What is surprising is how successful they have been. Time Magazine reports that Hezbollah has re-supplied to the extent that their short range missile supply is currently at pre-war levels of approximately 20,000 units. This disputes earlier Israeli and Saudi intelligence reports that Hezbollah has replenished only half its supply. Time's diplomatic source says, "The Iranian pipeline through Syria was already working during the war, despite constant Israeli bombing raids on the roads into Lebanon from Syria."

Syria and Iran have denied any involvement. When Hezbollah was asked whether they have received new weapons they replied;

"We have more than enough weapons if Israel tries to attack us again."

As if Israel attacked the first time.

More from Time:

Over the past three months, according to a knowledgeable Saudi source, Iranian Revolutionary Guard officers have been operating out of a military base on the outskirts of Damascus. The Iranian government has dispatched shipments of small arms and what appear to be missile components to this military base, according to the source. From the secret base, weapons have been shipped by truck across the border into Lebanon. Western diplomats say that the Lebanese army has posted over 8,000 troops along the border, forcing smugglers to use mountain passes instead of the heavily-monitored crossing on the main Beirut-Damascus road.

Nawaf Obaid, a Saudi security advisor who is managing director of the Riyadh-based Saudi National Security Assessment Project claims that Iran is using its embassies in Damascus and Beirut as command centers, and are working closely along side Hezbollah representatives in the Beirut embassy.

None of this should come as any surprise. It was clear from day one that weapons were being transferred from Iran. What is worrisome is the level of complicity. Hezbollah is sheltering itself under Iran's diplomatic immunity. What is worrisome is the lack of interest shown by the UN and the West. The French forces in UNIFIL have threatened to shoot down Israeli reconnaissance planes for violating Resolution 1701, yet they have done absolutely nothing to stop Hezbollah from rearming. In fact, they are indirectly helping. By removing Israel from the picture, they have assured that Hezbollah will be left on its own to do as it pleases. This inaction is only setting the stage for Round Two.

Champion Of Terrorist Rights

In a shocking interview with the Jerusalem Post, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Louise Arbour implies that Israel is more culpable than Hezbollah for civilian deaths during the Lebanon war. This despite the fact that Hezbollah intentionally targeted civilians while Israel did not. This despite the fact that Hezbollah used human shields while Israel did not. Asked by the Post if there was a distinction under human rights law between missile attacks aimed at killing civilians and military strikes in which civilians are unintentionally killed, Arbour said the two could not be equated.

"In one case you could have, for instance, a very objectionable intent - the intent to harm civilians, which is very bad - but effectively not a lot of harm is actually achieved. But how can you compare that with a case where you may not have an intent but you have recklessness [in which] civilian casualties are foreseeable? The culpability or the intent may not sound as severe, but the actual harm is catastrophic."

"According to criminal law, there is very little distinction between recklessness and intent. It is a small distinction as to whether you desire the result, or you foresee it as virtually certain and you do not care. In terms of culpability there is not a lot of difference between recklessness and intent."

"When you kill civilians virtually each time [in a military attack], at some point you have to ask yourself, 'Wasn't that foreseeable that so many would be killed?" she said. "That is where I think you start having to engage in the possibility that it is somewhat culpable."

I can only imagine that the murderers in Beirut, Damascus and Teheran are laughing themselves to pieces. The UN has laid down its mandate. Terror is not so bad simply because the results are not so impressive. Forget the intent. The results are what matters.

She claims that accidental deaths caused by Israel are more criminal that the intentional deaths caused by Hezbollah.

By the way, I am shocked that an individual who is so well versed in law can actually claim that in criminal law there is little distinction between recklessness and intent. I guess that she cannot differentiate between manslaughter and murder. I guess she will blame her son for accidentally breaking a window in her house with a baseball more than she will blame him for intentionally breaking it with a hammer. Why? Because the baseball is "foreseeable"; it has happened before.

Interesting to note the very different approach Arbour took when she was acting as the Chief Prosecutor for the International Criminal Tribunal. The ITC was charged to investigate alleged war crimes perpetrated by Yugoslavia and Slobodan Milosevic. At that time, Arbour, on behalf of the ITC, formally announced that there was no basis for war crimes charges to be brought against NATO for its 78 day bombing campaign in Yugoslavia in which 500 civilians were killed and civilian infrastructure was targeted. The exoneration of NATO while Germany and Russia were working towards a diplomatic solution, combined with the announcement of Milosevic's indictment effectively gave NATO a green light to continue the bombing. The message was clear. NATO was innocent, Yugoslavia and Milosevic were not.

When Arbour was asked whether she understood the ramifications of both her exoneration of NATO and the indictment of Milosevic would have on the peace process, she answered as follows;

"I am mindful of the impact that this indictment may have on the peace process," and although indicted individuals are "entitled to the presumption of innocence until they are convicted, the evidence upon which this indictment was confirmed raises serious questions about their suitability to be guarantors of any deal, let alone a peace agreement."

Highly prejudicial. A peace deal would not happen because you just can't trust Slobo, even before was convicted. Let the bombing continue.

Then US Secretary of State Madeleine Albright came to the same conclusion and noted that the indictments

"Make very clear to the world and the publics in our countries that this [NATO policy] is justified because of the crimes committed, and I think also will enable us to keep moving all these processes [i.e. ., bombing] forward".

Arbour had given her official approval to let NATO continue the bombing which was killing civilians and destroying civilian infrastructure.

If Arbour held herself to the same standards she holds the Israelis, she would most likely have herself fitted for an orange jumpsuit.

In her never ending quest to vilify Israel, Arbour knows no boundaries. She visits the relatives of dead terrorists while refusing to meet the relatives of kidnapped Israelis. She is willing to hang the victims and exonerate the criminals. Louise Arbour is truly a shining star of the UN.

Jihadists Hope Democrats Gain Power

Senior Jihadist leaders say they hope the democratic party is voted into power next week in America. They say the stated policy of the democrats for withdrawal from Iraq ensures a worldwide victory for islamic terrorists.

Many in America don't seem to be listening, but the jihadists keep telling us what their plans for us are. They plan to destroy us. Regardless of whether or not we see the Battle of Iraq as a front on the Global War on Terror, the terrorists see it that way.

WorldNetDaily interviewed senior jihad leaders who said a withdrawal from Iraq would be viewed as a victory for terrorism and would embolden terrorists to continue the fight until America and Israel are destroyed.

Here's what they said:

Jihad JaaraJihad Jaara whose claim to fame is that he is a senior member of Al Aqsa Martyrs Brigades. This jihad group is known for the seige of the Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity in 2002. This group has also taken responsibility for every suicide bombing in Israel over the last two years.

Of course Americans should vote Democrat. This is why American Muslims will support the Democrats, because there is an atmosphere in America that encourages those who want to withdraw from Iraq. It is time that the American people support those who want to take them out of this Iraqi mud.

He also said a withdrawal from Iraq would "mark the beginning of the collapse of this tyrant empire (America)."

Muhammad Saadi
is a senior leader of Islamic Jihad. He says the democrats talking about withdrawal from Iraq makes him proud.

As Arabs and Muslims we feel proud of this talk. Very proud from the great successes of the Iraqi resistance. This success that brought the big superpower of the world to discuss a possible withdrawal.

In response to Nancy Polosi's assertion that the jihadists are only in Iraq because our Troops are in Iraq, Saadi laughed. He said that would be a victory of the jihadists and prove that their methods of jihad work.

The victory of the Iraqi revolution will mark an important step in the history of the region and in the attitude regarding the United States.

Notice he said, 'will', 'will mark'. He says this as though it is a done deal and he's licking his chops over it.

Abu AbdullahAbu Abdullah is a leader of Hamas in Palestine. He says the democrats are proving they are winning.

We warned the Americans that this will be their end in Iraq. They did not succeed in stealing Iraq's oil, at least not at a level that covers their huge expenses. They did not bring stability. Their agents in the [Iraqi] regime seem to have no chance to survive if the Americans withdraw.

He also said it would give encouragement to the Palestinians in their war against Israel.

The victory of the resistance in Iraq would prove once more that when the will and the faith are applied victory is not only a slogan. We saw that in Lebanon (during Israel's confrontation against Hezbollah there in July and August); we saw it in Gaza (after Israel withdrew from the territory last summer) and we will see it everywhere there is occupation.

See, when Israel chose to cease fighting in Lebanon without destroying hesbollah, that was considered a victory. Hesbollah has declared victory over Israel. Stopping without defeating is not winning a war and only gives the enemy a chance to regroup and declare victory.

Abu AymanAbu Ayman, another Islamic Jihad leader.

[The mujahedeen fighters] brought the Americans to speak for the first time seriously and sincerely that Iraq is becoming a new Vietnam and that they should fix a schedule for their withdrawal from Iraq.

Interesting he would make a Vietnam comparison. That was a war the very same people helped us lose. It was also the beginning of the demise of the world's respect for America.

All these jihadists don't seem to think the democrats really will withdraw the troops. They say it's just campaign slogans and that both the dems and the republicans are 'agents of Zionists'

Besides they all say that withdrawing from Iraq isn't enough. Americans should withdraw from every muslim and arab land.

I am afraid that even after the American people will elect those who promise to leave Iraq, the U.S. will not do so. I tell the American people vote for withdrawal. Abandon Israel if you want to save America. Now will this Happen? I do not believe it.

Lebanese Joan of Arc: Brigitte of ACT

Brigitte Gabriel is someone I'd somehow missed hearing about until yesterday evening when she appeared on Fox News and spoke about the danger of Islam. It was amazing to hear someone on the MSM talking about Islam the way it really is.

In her own words:

"We are facing an enemy that uses children as human bombs, mothers as suicide bombers, and men driven by the glory of death and the promise of eternal sexual bliss in heaven. We are fighting an enemy that loves death more than we love life. I am a victim of the Lebanese civil war, which was the first front in the worldwide Jihad of militant Islam against the only Christian country in the Middle East. My family’s home was shelled and destroyed leaving me wounded. I lived underground in a bomb shelter from age 10 to 17 without electricity and very little food. I had to crawl under sniper bullets to a spring to fetch water for my elderly parents. I was betrayed by my country, rescued by my enemy Israel, the Jewish State that is under attack for its existence today."

She had been rescued by the Israelis after her mother had been wounded in a muslim attack on the Christian enclave in which she and her parents lived. It was at the Israeli hospital that she first experienced the vast difference between Jews and muslims, and between Islam and democracy. After her mother was discharged they had to return to Lebanon, but when she was old enough she moved to Israel, and when her parents died, who were middle-aged when she was born, she buried them side by side in Israel.

She found work in journalism and soon became a target for death, with many close escapes before moving to the United States for her safety.

There is a video of about 52 minutes length accessible on the ACT website of an interview with her in which she details the entire, incredible story. I guarantee you'll learn new things about Islam and the Palestinians, and perhaps Israel as well. The world should see this.

Ms. Gabriel is a true hero of the war against Islamic aggression. Her organization, American Congress For Truth, which can be found online
here, offers free membership and seeks to spread the word as well as take action to educate the American public and fight the spread of radical fundamentalist Islam. I joined and I hope everyone who reads this will do the same.
