What about the Karbala laptop and was this an act of war?

Originally posted at Right Truth

Threats Watch says, " ... the January 20 attack on soldiers from an American Civil Affairs Unit in Karbala, Iraq, was an operation planned and carried out by members of the Iranian Qods Force extraterritorial unit of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)"

If Iran is guilty, is this an ACT OF WAR against the United States by Iran? If so, how will the United States respond? How will we deal with the traitors who gave intelligence to the terrorists who abducted our American soldiers and proceeded to execute them in cold blood with a bullet to the head?

How the United States reacts to this incident can be seen as a barometer for how the Bush Administration intends to deal with the world’s foremost state sponsor of terrorism in both the short and intermediate term. This – a test - may have been a significant part of the probable Iranian decision to go forth with the operation, Chizari’s personal satisfaction aside. Threats Watch

In my original story, Something Stinky in Karbala and the Green Zone, I covered the coordinated attack upon Americans by men carrying American weapons, and wearing new U.S. military combat fatigues, driving SUV's that looked similar to U.S. government convoys, spoke English, and even looked American (one having blond hair).

What I missed was the one time mention of a computer, a laptop, that was also taken with the Americans. On Fox News the 'generals' who were commenting on the Karbala attack, also mentioned the laptop in passing conversation. But no news source, internet source, or other source is going into any detail about the computer. What was on the computer? Was the computer the main objective of this mission?

On January 27th, an Associated Press Report included a curious sentence in an overview of the attack:

"The attackers captured four soldiers and fled with them and the computer east toward Mahawil in Babil province, crossing the Euphrates River, the U.S. military officials said." (AP)

No mention of a computer appears anywhere else in the article, yet the article appears to have been written as if it was. While all the media outlets have been describing the attack as a kidnapping, the AP article hints at another possible reason for the raid, a military laptop. Elusive, well financed, supported, and trained attackers took four Americans and a laptop, within hours they killed the Americans. Was the computer the real target? Were the American soldiers kidnapped to provide the password and then killed? (Small War Council via Chris Albon

Other important aspects of this attack:

The attack in Karbala where 5 American soldiers were shot in the head made me wonder if the Iraqi police were involved or at least complicit. Now I wonder if this goes straight to top. One of the vehicles had a license plate registered to Iraq's minister of trade, Abdul Falah al-Sudani, a Shiite who belongs to the Dawa party whose members include Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Al-Sudani lives in the Green Zone and denied that the plate had been stolen. (Macon.com)

Ownership documents were found in two of the vehicles. No one seems to know where the military uniforms or IDs came from, but the SUV's traveled to Karbala along the road leading from Najaf, where anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr is headquartered. (more)

Anyone with any sources on the 'laptop', let me know.

Also questioning the importance of the computer:

Let them Fight

It appears that the Islamists have slowed down attacks on Americans and have focused their energies on each other. Civil War or not, it is better they kill themselves than us. The Sunni's see the Shiites as apostates and vice versa. This places them in the same boat with us in regards to who is considered the infidel. If they have decided to clean the Islamic house first then more power to them. While they are doing this we should be preparing for the aftermath.
Not only is there a possible Civil War ready to erupt in Iraq there is one going on in Palestine. Fatah versus Hamas. Israel should secure their border and let them go at each other. Egypt has recommended that the Palestinians should form one army. Diplomatically this may come across as a good sound bite but it is nothing more than that. In all this carnage someone is making money and gaining control and influence. Do you want to guess who?
Iran appears to be the supporting from the dim shadows. They have the most to gain from internal squabbling. They can finance both sides of each conflict and come out smelling like a desert rose. More than likely they aren't supporting the Sunnis but who really knows? Iran will hedge it's bets until they see a real winner and then put all of their support behind them. They are willing to do whatever they deem necessary to add support to their power pyramid.
Iran has it's hands in every conflict taking place that involves Islamists. Whether it be Islam against secular or Islam against Islam doesn't matter. With Syria as a lackey they can play the diplomatic game while funding battles and wars around the world. Iran is playing the west and the Islamists against themselves. All of this with the support of Russia and China. While the west squabbles internally the Islamists kill themselves.
Truth be told, I have no problem with Islamists killing themselves. I do have a problem with westerners that still think that a "sit down and talk" session would solve their problems. This is a fallacy that has proven itself to be a failure. The ironic part of the Islamist on Islamist violence is the silence in the media. If an American kills an Islamist there are investigations and such. If they kill each other it's a minor paragraph in the newspaper. An America bomb is used and a child dies the world is up in arms. If the Islamists kill children, nary a peep. But I digress.
Let them kill each other. They are proving themselves to be the barbarians that others have claimed they aren't. The descendants of Ishmael would be wild men and raise their hands against one another and others. No matter how we try to deny it, it appears to be playing out right in front of us.

Muslim Medicine - An Oxymoron

Photo uploaded by E.S.B.

times online - Muslim urged to shun 'unholy' vaccines, Excerpt:
A MUSLIM doctors’ leader has provoked an outcry by urging British Muslims not to vaccinate their children against diseases such as measles, mumps and rubella because it is “un-Islamic”.

Dr Abdul Majid Katme, head of the Islamic Medical Association, is telling Muslims that almost all vaccines contain products derived from animal and human tissue, which make them “haram”, or unlawful for Muslims to take.
[snip]
In Nigeria, Afghanistan, Pakistan and parts of India, Muslims have refused to be immunised against polio after being told that the vaccines contain products that the West has deliberately added to make the recipients infertile.
[snip]
He argued that leading “Islamically healthy lives” would be enough to ward off illnesses and diseases.

“You see, God created us perfect and with a very strong defence system."

In my previous post, Muslim Cabbies and Catholic Hospitals, I argued that for reasons of religious conscience certain groups of people should not go into work that conflicts with their religious teachings. For example, if you are deeply Catholic, you should not be a pharmacist where you will be required to dispense abortifacients. After all, you are not a doctor and it is not up to you to decide whether the drug is for a life-threatening ailment. Catholics ministries should not be in the hospital business for the same reason.

Even worse would be allowing Muslims to open hospitals. The Saudis have so much loose cash lying around that they could set up hospitals in inner cities and provide free care to the poor and non-insured among us. Well, you may wonder, "What's wrong with that? If the Saudis want to take care of our poor with their oil money, what's the harm?" The problem is that if they come into any area and take care of any decent number of the population, then they will choke off the revenues of any other hospital in that locale. Eventually we could be looking at major metropolitan areas with the only hospitals around being Islamic.

Normally, I would say I could care less. If the ignorant poor, idiot Muslims, and delusional liberals want to go to a Muslim hospital, let them, I have the money to take a plane if necessary to a non-religious facility. However, there is always the problem of emergencies. Suppose I have a condition or accident that requires me to go to the absolute nearest hospital or I will die. Going to a Muslim hospital will not be fun for a Jewish ape and pig like myself. And if you read the full article link above, you should get some taste of how backward Muslim Medicine is likely to be.

No, it would be a big mistake to allow any Muslim Health Care Facility to open in America. Big Mistake. The last thing we need is Muslim Ambulances with burqa-clad females riding in the trunk.

A Blog for All - Muslims Urged to Shun Vaccines in UK, Excerpt: These so-called leaders are endangering the welfare of those who rely upon these leaders for their opinions and assessments. Calling these so-called leaders on the carpet to be held accountable for these statements is absolutely necessary to ensure that the children - those who are being affected by the decisions of their parents and Islamic leaders - are not injured because of narrow-mindedness, ignorance, and worse.

I would go one step further and say that Muslim religious ignorance and narrow-mindedness is also child abuse. Bringing up any child as a Muslim should be a felony.

Secular Blasphemy - British doctor says vaccinations 'un-Islamic', Excerpt: Dr Katme's anti-vaccine message puts not only Muslims at risk, but since vaccinations depend on herd protection, he endangers everybody in the society, especially elderly and children. Professional malpractice, I think we'll call it.

The point here is that although we could care less if 99% of Muslims disappeared from the face of the Earth, unless ALL of them go, the sick ones can bring back diseases that the Western World fought decades to eliminate. As proof, read:
Western Resistance - Muslim Myths Helping Polio To Spread, Excerpt:
In 2003, the year when there were the least new cases of polio, it was endemic in only six countries in the world - Nigeria, Niger, Egypt, Pakistan, Afghanistan and India.

Muslim Countries

Since 2003, the disease has started to reappear in countries in which it had formerly been eradicated. In the countries where it had been endemic, but numbers of cases had been decreasing, incidences began to rise. The vast majority of cases were appearing in Muslim countries and communities.

Glenn Greenwald in Just "evolution in action" points out that here in America we have our own whackos opposed to vaccinations: Excerpt: Merck, among other pharmaceutical companies, developed a highly effective vaccine against the human papilloma virus (HPV) -- by far the leading cause of cervical cancer in women -- but an entire American political movement called "social conservatism" has been desperately trying to prevent its widespread approval -- or at least persuade parents not to have their daughters vaccinated -- because HPV is a sexually transmitted disease and they therefore believe that a vaccine will be seen as an endorsement of premartal sex:

Bomber kills 3 Israelis at Red Sea resort bakery

Truce keeping as usual:

EILAT, Israel–Israeli aircraft bombed a tunnel near the Gaza-Israel border early today in response to the first suicide attack inside the country in nine months, the military said.

The air strike came a day after a Palestinian bomber killed three Israelis at a bakery in the Red Sea resort town of Eilat. The two radical groups that claimed to have sent the suicide bomber said they were trying to end weeks of Palestinian infighting by taking aim at Israel instead.

Israel has observed a truce with the Palestinians in Gaza since late November. But today's air strike signalled the Eilat bombing had put that ceasefire in danger.

The Israeli army said militants planned to use the tunnel near Gaza's Karni crossing for an attack on Israel. No casualties were reported in the air strike.

Yesterday's bombing in Eilat was praised by the Palestinians' governing Hamas movement as legitimate resistance – a position sure to hurt efforts to end a crippling economic boycott imposed by the international community.

Bombs and Bagels. This is why you never legitimize a terrorist organization by giving it political power.

PDP sending signals to terrorists to join electoral battle

Terrorists and politics:

Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Jammu and Kashmir is sending strong signals to terrorists to join politics and has supplemented this offer with a firm indication that the party would concede political space to them in the electoral battles.

The party leadership has made it clear that it wanted to change the discourse of Kashmir politics for terrorists by offering a stake to them in the politics of ballots, and declared that the infamous 1987 elections would not be repeated.

If you think about it terrorists have been in volved in politics for a while now. Look at how they influenced November's election. Why not give them a stake. Maybe they will blow less things up.

Pelosi's Solution for Iraq--Make Love, Not Jihad!

From the SOP:

(Baghdad)--The following press release was just issued by the Office of Nancy Pelosi, Speaker of the U.S. House:

While meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Baghdad this weekend, Speaker Nancy Pelosi presented her program for ending the violence and for making Iraq a respectable, civil nation in the world community.

Speaker Pelsoi titled her program "Make Love, Not Jihad." The Pelosi program is patterned after the City Charter in San Francisco and includes the following recommendations:

Gun Control

Iraq's violence is a direct result of easy access to all sorts of killing tools. The government must outlaw all weapons of mass destruction, IEDs, handguns, shotguns, rifles, machine guns and all other firearms. No exceptions.

Declare Iraq a "Terror-Free" Zone

San Francisco pioneered the "Nuclear-free" zoning concept several years ago to alert the world that The City is completely free from nuclear weapons and should not be attacked. That policy has worked beautifully, because there have been no nuclear incidents since the declaration was codified into San Francisco's City Charter.

Using the same logic, Iraq should declare itself a "terror free" zone, then just relax, and wait for the insurgents and coalition forces to leave. Read More...

This little bit of satire by John Lillipop prove the point that to satirize somthing there must be something of the truth in it. Be afraid...Be very afraid.

Coming to a Mosque Near You

Our reader Kurt K. sends us:

This is amazing footage of the hate and jihadism preached in London area mosques. Secretly captured by an undercover reporter.

http://www.shinesforall.com/2007/01/video_dispatche.html

Excerpt: Secret video footage reveals Muslim preachers exhorting followers to prepare for jihad, to hit girls for not wearing the hijab, and to create a 'state within a state'. Many of the preachers are linked to the Wahhabi strain of Islam practised in Saudi Arabia, which funds a number of Britain's leading Islamic institutions.

Old Marines Never Die

This was sent in by Texas Fred.

Stolen From: American and Proud

Dan Rather, Peter Jennings, Cokie Roberts, and a tough old U.S. Marine Sergeant were all captured by terrorists in Iraq. The leader of the terrorists told them that he would grant them each one last request before they were beheaded.

Dan Rather said, "Well, I'm a Texan; so I'd like one last bowlful of hot spicy chili." The leader nodded to an underling who left and returned with the chili. Rather ate it all and said, "Now I can die content."

Peter Jennings said, "I am Canadian, so I'd like to hear the song "O Canada" one last time." The leader nodded to a terrorist who had studied the Western world and knew the music. He returned with some rag-tag Musicians and played the anthem. Jennings sighed and declared he could now die peacefully.

Cokie Roberts said, "I'm a reporter to the end. I want to take out my tape recorder and describe the scene here and what's about to happen. Maybe someday someone will hear it and know that I was on the job till the end."

The leader directed an aide to hand over the tape recorder and Roberts dictated some comments. She then said, "Now I can die happy."

The leader turned and said, "And now, Mr. U.S. Marine, what is your final wish?"

"Kick me in the ass," said the Marine.

"What?" asked the leader? "Will you mock us in your last hour?"

"No, I'm not kidding. I want you to kick me in the ass," insisted the Marine. So the leader shoved him into the open, and kicked him in the ass.

The Marine went sprawling, but rolled to his knees, pulled a 9 mm pistol from inside his fatigues, and shot the leader dead. In the resulting confusion, he leaped to his knapsack, pulled out his M4 carbine and sprayed the Iraqis with gunfire.

In a flash, all the Iraqis were either dead or fleeing for their lives.

As the Marine was untying Rather, Jennings, and Roberts, they asked him, "Why didn't you just shoot them in the beginning? Why did you ask them to kick you in the ass first?"

"What??" replied the Marine, "And have you three a**holes report that I was the aggressor?"

Thanks Fred. There is a bit of truth to every joke. and this one nails it.

90% of Nazis were not Evil

Photo Originally uploaded by pytey.

I would love to be open-minded. I would love for the lamb to lie down with the lion, for there to be no wars and no hatred or bloodshed. Any sane person wishes for world peace. And if wishing made the world so, I would certainly be open-minded.

I know in my heart that not every single Nazi without exception was evil. It’s impossible. Some of them had to be ordinary, civilized family men who got caught up in the maelstrom and were unable to extricate themselves. Does anyone really believe that all Germans were born evil, vile creatures? That would be racist indeed. How are the Germans who now live peacefully with their European neighbors any different than the Nazis of the last century? They are the same peoples speaking the same language, listening to the same music and operas, and observing the same customs and traditions as Germans have for centuries.

So what turned them into the most evil monsters in history [excepting present day Muslims]? Three things:
1) A state religion of moral superiority over all non-Aryan races. [it is no accident that Persia changed its name to Iran (Aryan) in blessed appreciation of the Nazi ideal]
2) A Plan to Take over the World
3) An extreme minority that intimidated and threatened the majority.

Obviously, with minor change to #1, these same three principles apply to Islam.

Truly, most of these evil men, had they lived under a different system, would have lived ordinary and useful lives.

Now I know there are fine, educated, sweet, wonderful Muslim men and women in the world. Good and respectful Muslim families that abhor violence and would denounce it in the streets, if they but could without fear. Men and women who are stuck in their religion simply because they were born into it. Even here in America. But we don't see the moderate Muslim majority denouncing the extremists. So we can only conclude one of two things:

1) there is no moderate majority.
2) there is a moderate majority but they live under the same fear as Germans did under Nazism.

In either case, we cannot allow Muslims to come into this country for the same reasons we prohibited Nazis from coming here during WWII. Once Germans genuinely renounced the doctrines of Nazism we again allowed them to come to our country. If Muslims will renounce their religion, I have no problem with allowing them to live among us. But no mosques, no praying toward Mecca, no trying to make us live under Shariah law. They can become Atheists, Christians, or whatever, just not Muslims.

If I blogged about the cancer of Nazism and that we should not allow millions of Nazis to come into this country, even defeatist liberals that can't think of enough ways to destroy America, would agree with me. Certainly no one would call me a racist or bigot.

So here I am, before the next attacks on American soil are made possible by our resident, cowering weasels and defeatists such as Pelosi, Murtha, Reid, and others; here I am announcing to the world, that I am a Proud Islamophobe.

I sadly admit that 98% of my relatives were not Naziphobes. I will tell you now, that 100% of my now and future family will not fail to be Islamophobes. We will not skip blindly into the waiting chambers. My father blamed his relatives for dying in the holocaust - for refusing to be paranoid enough. Perhaps some of you will be kinder to their memory than he was, after all you may argue, no one could have foreseen or comprehended such naked and blatant evil.

Nazi Pigs
Originally uploaded by QuidnuncQuixot.
Interestingly, even if a modern person held any of Hitler's beliefs, it is unlikely he would admit he was a Nazi, although there are still a few idiots who are not ashamed to call themselves such. In the same way, some day only a handful of absolute fools or morons would ever call themselves Muslims.

Here's the deal: Hitler was a pussycat. While Nazis were in general quite a nasty lot, I do not recall any of them putting an enemy into a meat grinder feet-first just for the hell of it. If someone disappointed Hitler, he was handed a bullet to quietly do himself in. When Saddam's young boys found some soccer player who did not comport himself to their satisfaction they would drill into his ears or gouge out his eyes; just for the sport of it mind you. So here I am, a Jew, telling you that if given only the two choices, living under Nazis or under Saddam's Sunni Muslim paradise, I would choose Nazis, no question. Saddam joyfully gassed thousands of his own people, went to war against another Muslim country, and tortured his own relatives, can you imagine what he would do to despised Jews? No thank you.

How the left led us into 9/11

The LA Times
The Clinton and Carter administrations made the U.S. look like a weak, attractive target for terrorists.

In considering a funding cutoff for U.S. troops in Iraq, the liberal leadership in Congress runs the risk of making the United States more vulnerable to future attacks, not just in the Middle East but here at home. To understand this, it's not enough to revisit the factors that led to the Iraq invasion. We must consider the roots of 9/11 itself. Only by understanding the policies that sowed the seeds of 9/11 can we intelligently decide how best to proceed in fighting the war on terror.

Pundits on the left say that 9/11 was the result of a "blowback" of resistance from the Islamic world against U.S. foreign policy. At first glance, this seems to make no sense. American colonialism in the Middle East? The U.S. has no history of colonialism there. Washington's support for unelected dictatorial regimes in the region? The Muslims can't be outraged about this, because there are no other kinds of regimes in the region. U.S. support for Israel and wars against the Muslims? Yes, but the U.S. has frequently fought on the side of the Muslims, as in Afghanistan in the 1980s or in the Persian Gulf War.

But in a sense the liberal pundits are right. The U.S. made two gigantic foreign policy blunders in recent decades that did sow the seeds of 9/11. What the liberals haven't recognized is that these blunders were the direct result of their policies and actions, and were carried out by Democratic presidents — Jimmy Carter and Bill Clinton.

To understand this, we need a little perspective. Radical Islam became a global force in 1979, when it captured its first major state, Iran. Before that, radical organizations such as the Muslim Brotherhood were fighting losing battles to overthrow their local governments. This changed with the success of the Khomeini regime in Iran. The Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini was the first Muslim leader to describe the U.S. as the "Great Satan" and to counsel martyrdom and jihad against it. Iran continues to be a model for radical Muslims.

Khomeini's ascent to power was aided by Carter's policies. Carter came into office stressing his support for human rights. His advisors told him that he could not consistently support the shah of Iran, who had secret police and was widely accused of violating human rights. The administration began to withdraw its support and finally pulled the rug out from under the shah, forcing him to step down.

The result was Khomeini, whose regime was vastly more tyrannical than the shah's. The Khomeini revolution provided state sponsorship for Islamic radicalism and terrorism and paved the way for Osama bin Laden and 9/11.

Clinton's policies also helped to provoke 9/11. After the Cold War, leading Islamic radicals returned to their home countries. Bin Laden left Afghanistan and went back to Saudi Arabia; Ayman Zawahiri returned to Egypt. They focused on fighting their own rulers — what they termed the "near enemy" — in order to establish states under Islamic law. But in the mid- to late 1990s, these radicals shifted strategy. They decided to stop fighting the near enemy and to attack the "far enemy," the U.S.

The world's sole superpower would seem to be much more formidable than local Muslim rulers such as Hosni Mubarak in Egypt or the Saudi royal family. Bin Laden argued, however, that the far enemy was actually weaker and more vulnerable. He was confident that when kicked in their vital organs, Americans would pack up and run. Just like in Vietnam. Just like in Mogadishu.

Bin Laden saw his theory of American weakness vindicated during the Clinton era. In 1993, Islamic radicals bombed the World Trade Center. The Clinton administration did little. In 1996, Muslim terrorists attacked the Khobar Towers facility on a U.S. base in Saudi Arabia. No response. In 1998, Al Qaeda bombed two U.S. embassies in Africa. Clinton responded with a few perfunctory strikes in Sudan and Afghanistan. These did no real harm to Al Qaeda and only strengthened the perception of American ineptitude. In 2000, Islamic radicals bombed the U.S. destroyer Cole. Again, the Clinton team failed to act. By his own admission, Bin Laden concluded that his suspicion of American pusillanimity and weakness was correct. He became emboldened to plot the 9/11 attacks.

Still, the 2001 attacks might have been averted had the Clinton administration launched an effective strike against Bin Laden in the years leading up to them. Clinton has said he made every effort to get Bin Laden during his second term. Yet former CIA agent Michael Scheuer estimates that there were about 10 chances to capture or kill Bin Laden during this period and that the Clinton people failed to capitalize on any of them.

Between 1996 and mid-2000, Bin Laden was not in deep hiding. He gave sermons in Kandahar's largest mosque. He talked openly on his satellite phone. He also granted a number of media interviews: in 1996, with author Robert Fisk; in 1997, with Peter Arnett of CNN; in 1998, with John Miller of ABC News; in 1999, with a journalist affiliated with Time magazine. Isn't it strange that all these people could find Bin Laden but the Clinton administration couldn't?

Two lessons can be drawn from these sorry episodes. The first one, derived from Carter's actions, is: In getting rid of the bad regime, make sure that you don't get a worse one. This happened in Iran and could happen again, in Iraq, if leading Democrats in Congress have their way. The second lesson, derived from Clinton's inaction, is that the perception of weakness emboldens our enemies. If the Muslim insurgents and terrorists believe that the U.S. is divided and squeamish about winning the war on terror, they are likely to escalate their attacks on Americans abroad and at home. In that case, 9/11 will be only the beginning.

By Dinesh D'Souza, a fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, is the author, most recently, of "The Enemy at Home: The Cultural Left and Its Responsibility for 9/11."

Something Stinky in Karbala and the Green Zone

Originally posted at Right Truth

The attack in Karbala where 5 American soldiers were shot in the head made me wonder if the Iraqi police were involved or at least complicit. Now I wonder if this goes straight to top. One of the vehicles had a license plate registered to Iraq's minister of trade, Abdul Falah al-Sudani, a Shiite who belongs to the Dawa party whose members include Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki. Al-Sudani lives in the Green Zone and denied that the plate had been stolen. (Macon.com)

The attack involved 9 to 12 English-speaking militants who posed as American security forces and traveled in vehicles that looked similar to U.S. government convoys. Ownership documents were found in two of the vehicles. No one seems to know where the military uniforms or IDs came from, but the SUV's traveled to Karbala along the road leading from Najaf, where anti-American cleric Muqtada al-Sadr is headquartered.

Carrying American weapons, and wearing new U.S. military combat fatigues, the militants overtook the American forces and kidnapped the four soldiers. They then took them east of the compound and killed them. (source)

One guard, who is also is a suspect, said he'd handed his weapon to the attackers and allowed the men into the compound because they were dressed in American military uniforms, spoke English and were using interpreters.

Iraq the Model says (hat tip Degrees of Madness):

If I remember well, some time ago the head of the provincial council was arrested under charges of terrorism, so the local authority in Kerbala isn’t exactly trustworthy. The governor said there was a security breach but what I smell here is the stench of an inside job at the highest levels in Kerbala.

Like I said earlier, this was not just a brazen attack by some militia or terrorists; behind this is a message and a threat from Iran and its surrogates to turn even the calm parts of Iraq into a dangerous war zone for America and the government in Baghdad.

Now it all makes sense. Al-Sadr has been pretending to comply with American requests, asking his militia to put their guns out of site. It's all for show. Sadr is an agent of Iran.

Four of the soldiers have possible ties to Fort Richardson. U.S...

That release identified the dead as 1st Lt. Jacob N. Fritz, 25, of Verdon, Neb., Spc. Johnathan B. Chism, 22, of Gonzales, La., Pfc. Shawn P. Falter, 25, of Cortland, N.Y., and Pvt. Johnathon M. Millican, 20, of Trafford, Ala. All four were assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 377th Parachute Field Artillery Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry Division, based at Fort Richardson, Alaska.

Another news release identified a fifth man killed as Capt. Brian S. Freeman, 31, of Temecula, Calif. (source)

Capt. Freeman was a former member of the Army World Class Athlete Program who competed in bobsled and skeleton with the U.S. national team.

Bottom line, I don't trust Maliki or Sadr. Phew! Something stinks in Karbala!!!

'Ex-terrorists' event at U-M stirs outrage

From The Detroit News:

Controversy is brewing over a presentation scheduled for Tuesday night at the University of Michigan by three self-proclaimed "ex-terrorists."

The American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee has asked U-M to reconsider allowing "such hateful discussion" to take place at the university's Rackham Auditorium in Ann Arbor. Meantime, one of the former terrorists has received death threats warning him from speaking at the university, according to his representative.

U-M senior officials will meet with members of the ADC on Monday, said university spokeswoman Julie Peterson. However, the university didn't invite the group, she said.

The conservative student group Young Americans for Freedom is sponsoring the discussion called "Terrorism: The World's Greatest Threat."

But canceling such an event does not coincide with the school's mission, according to U-M officials. U-M's policy is to allow invited guests to express their views regardless of whether others disagree.

Andrew Boyd, co-chair of Young Americans for Freedom, said the three men were invited to spark dialogue on campus.

"There's a misconception about the event," Boyd said. "It's about showing the difference between Muslim extremists and the average everyday Muslim who is peaceful."

The men are Zachariah Anani, a Windsor resident, and Walid Shoebat and Kamal Saleem, who are both U.S. citizens. Anani was recently targeted by Islamist groups who have mounted a witch hunt against him, according to his spokesperson.

According to their Web site, Shoebat and Saleem are former members of the Palestine Liberation Organization. Shoebat participated in acts of terror against Israel and was later imprisoned in Jerusalem. Saleem completed his first mission to Israel at age 7.

Anani was a teenage militia fighter, where he was trained to kill Jews, according to www.3xterrorists.com. He says he killed 223 people. The ADC doubts the men's stories for "the simple fact that if they were ... 'ex-terrorists' they would all be in federal custody," according to a letter ADC sent to U-M.

The men are not swayed.

"In order to understand the negative effects of narcotics, reformed drug addicts are often called upon to talk about their experiences," Shoebat said in a statement.

"It is the same situation here. Three former terrorists are educating the world on the phenomenon of terrorism, so that people can understand."

This will be the third speaking event by the trio. The first was at Princeton University, where it had to be relocated off campus, and the other was in Philadelphia, said Keith Davies, director of the Walid Shoebat Foundation.

You think ADC could challenge CAIR's credentials while they are at it?

The Path to 9-11

Remember the movie The Path to 9/11? Remember that the democrats threatened ABC's broadcast license if they aired the movie? ABC finally edited the movie so that they could air it without the part that the Clinton administration didn't want in there.

Hannity is going to air the unedited version on Sunday night on Fox
.

Unseen footage from the controversial ABC docudrama The Path to 9/11 has been obtained by Fox News and will be shown Sunday on Hannity's America.

The scene shows Sandy Berger, played by actor Devin Dunn, refusing to authorize an attack on Osama bin Laden despite a request from CIA officials, who said he was in their sights.

Berger was a national security adviser to President Clinton. The footage, which was expunged before it aired last September, was shown by the docudrama's senior producer and writer/producer at a World Affairs Council event at California State University. The footage was shown as Fox cameras rolled.

It was interesting to me watching the news today. With the Sandy Berger/Clinton scandal swirling around - all the network news focused on was Carl Rove and counting the bodies of American Soldiers. That's why I hate the network news.

The progressive blogs are predictably having a hissy fit. A quick look around the blogsphere and I can tell you they are having a bona fide meltdown. Remember how mad Clinton got when the movie first aired? The reaction is enough to let you know there is something they don't want us to know.

Hot Air has the edited and unedited videos.

Suitably Flip wonders how Secretary Gonzales is coming with that polygraph.

After watching the videos at Hot Air Rounds Out wonders ....
I didn't watch this when originally aired. But I can see now why the MSM was up in arms to the point of frenzy over this.

Do we really want more Clinton foreign policy?

The Hillary Project notes that Bill Clinton is still trying to obstruct the truth from being revealed regarding his unwillingness to deal with Osama bin Laden.

So has all this cover-up been to just protect Bill Clinton, or has this also been to protect Hillary’s chance of becoming President? The latter now seems more evident.

Patterico:
I am confident about one thing though, the really important part of the Fox broadcast won’t be the film footage that they show - it will be the subsequent interview with writer Cyrus Nowrasteh and former CIA agent Michael Scheuer. They will no doubt be very effective in defending their respective work in light of recent revelations. That part will be informative and potentially important.

The Boston Imams

Miss Kelly says:
Lookey here:

http://misskelly.typepad.com/miss_kelly_/2007/01/mimam_masood_an.html

Finally, a US newspaper writes that three MA imams are related to Hafiz Saeed. Took them long enough!

We bloggers have known for over a month. Some of the interfaith rabbis were taken aback by the Hafiz Saeed connection, although that is not written in the article. Masood reportedly answered that question slowly and carefully.

I finally got around to critiquing the ISB op-ed published in the Globe earlier this week. Kind of rambling, but I think there's some good stuff in there.

Good lead Miss K.

Waiting For The Mahdi

From Brigette Gabriel:

Waiting for the Mahdi: Official Iranian Eschatology Outlined in Public Broadcasting Program in Iran

The website of the governmental Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) has posted a lengthy document titled "The World toward Illumination." The document is a transcript of an IRIB series on the imminent arrival of the Mahdi, the Twelfth or Hidden Imam, awaited by Shi'ites as the Messiah.(1)

The program describes in glowing terms the messianic age to be inaugurated by the Mahdi. He is to begin his uprising in Mecca, and then march on Iraq, where he will establish his "seat of world government" in the city of Kufa and subjugate the current world powers. This will be an age of unparalleled happiness; there will be completely new technologies at mankind's disposal, and "corruption, war, and rebellion will no longer exist." Neither will "liberal democratic civilization."

Various days of the year are mentioned as being propitious for the appearance of the Mahdi, though the program says that the precise date cannot be known.

The series also includes, in parts not reproduced here, a lengthy polemic against the West, focusing on Evangelical Christians, Zionism, Ronald Reagan, George W. Bush, and Hollywood. It also gives a historical survey of Western thinking, from Saint Augustine to Francis Fukuyama.

The following are excerpts from the transcripts of the World Toward Illumination program from the IRIB website, in the original English:(2)

(1): "Miracles of the Messiah Will Soon Be Here"

"...Where is man moving to? What will happen in his future? What fate will today's nations and civilizations have in the future? Will they destroy one another? Will a power, nation or civilization prevail? And finally to what direction will the speed of technology and modernity take man?...

"In the current era new interpretations of happiness and prosperity for man have been brought up. In these interpretations there is talk about welfare and worldly tranquility. Some believe that science and material progress automatically bring about prosperity, and man can attain sublimity on earth... But the world's reality shows that man more than any other time is searching for prosperity and tranquility. The daily increasing production of destructive weapons, domineering tendencies, racist wars, genocide and instability of world markets, all threaten the world's security and tranquility. Now western rulers under the slogan of liberal democracy are tyrannically and oppressively looting the capital of oppressed nations. The weakness of the family foundation, crime, violence, narcotics, human trafficking, anxiety and depression have faced the world's future with serious danger...

"...We invite you to tune in to our next programs to see how the future will turn out to be. And we invite you to listen to an inspiring poem.

"Be joyous my heart, miracles of the Messiah will soon be here

"The scent of breaths of the One we know comes from near

"Grieve not of sorrow and melancholy, as assured I was... last night

"That a Savior will come, it's clear."

(3): "How Beautiful and Auspicious Will Be the Day when the World is Cleansed of Deceit"

"How beautiful and auspicious will be the day when the world is cleansed of deceit and mischief and the government of justice is established throughout the world. On that day the perfume of life will begin to circulate within humans and the aroma of narcissus, irises and chrysanthemums will fill their soul. Undoubtedly such a day is nigh.

"Seeking pure water so thirsty am I,

"Moonlight surely appeals to my eye

"Oh bright dawn I desire you as I sigh

"The luminous sun I seek or I die..."

(6): "We Must Get Ready to Search for the Liberal Democratic Civilization in History Museums"

"...The West due to a lack of spirituality and morality is not able to respond to man's needs. Lack of attention to man's sublime needs in these societies has created social and cultural crises. Thus this civilization like those of many other Western theoreticians is just an unreal theory. It seems that in the same way that the Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini predicted the fall of communism we must get ready to search for the liberal democratic civilization in history museums."

(12): "Everything Will Be New and Fresh Like Spring"

"Undoubtedly, history will not end with the memory of man's failures; man's ultimate fate is not weakness and inability; and the sun will undoubtedly not spare its vital rays from anyone. Many Iranian poets have spoken of the rise of the sun at dawn and consider man to be worthy of living in a bright and beautiful world full of the aroma of spirituality, where there is justice and equality...

"Contrary to the views of western theoreticians, who usually depict an ambiguous and dark future for mankind, Muslim experts believe human history, despite its many ups and downs, has a very auspicious fate, and with the appearance of the Imam of the Age, Hazrat Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance), finally the world matters will gain order. Muslims believe hopes for the realization of such a happy ending for the world, are called 'Awaiting Redemption', and means waiting for man's problems to be solved by the Savior at the end of time. This awaiting influences many, and inspires them with activity and enthusiasm in confronting darkness and oppression for changing the existing situation...

"When that Promised Person who is the direct descendent of the Prophet rises up, the sun of justice and freedom will shine on the hearts and he with his kind hands will extend friendship throughout the world. His face will be attractive and his look charismatic. He is humble before God's greatness. He is a manifestation of God's glory and beauty. Imam Mahdi is the perfect human being. His behavior is praiseworthy and his manners immaculate. He is the embodiment of justice. His torch of guidance is for all mankind...

"In short, when he reappears, peace, justice and security will overcome oppression and deceit and one global government, the most perfect ever, will be established. He will make the earth prosper in a way in which no ruins will remain. Man's maturity will reach its height, full equality will be established among the people, and no one will be arrogant toward the other and will not try to dominate others. Finally, corruption, war and rebellion will no longer exist and everything will be new and fresh like spring."

(13): "Pure and Sincere People Must Be Trained to Help the Savior in His Implementation of Global Justice"

"Sometimes incidents that occur in the world are like an insignificant but infectious pimple that suddenly explodes. Some theoreticians support this view and believe that nothing should stop this volcanic explosion and we should allow corruption to extend so much that the prevailing system would disintegrate. But the uprising of Imam Mahdi... is not like this. This uprising is like a fruit that must pass through stages till it is ready to be picked. Thus, if the Savior has not yet appeared it is not because the world is not full of oppression, but because the time must come for the people to be wise enough and ready to accept justice. Pure and sincere people must be trained in order to help the Savior in his implementation of global justice..."

Monday November 20, 2006: "The Seat of the Mahdi's Global Government Will Be the City of Kufa" in Iraq

"He will appear as a handsome young man, clad in neat clothes and exuding the fragrance of paradise. His face will glow with love and kindness for the human beings and because of this reason a famous hadith from the Prophet of Islam... has referred to him as Inn-al-Mahdi Tavous ahl al-Jannah, which means 'Indeed the Mahdi will be like a Peacock among the People of Paradise.' He has a radiant forehead, black piercing eyes and a broad chest. He very much resembles his ancestor Prophet Mohammad... Heavenly light and justice accompany him. He will overcome enemies and oppressors with the help of God, and as per the promise of the Almighty the Mahdi will eradicate all corruption and injustice from the face of the earth and establish the global government of peace, justice and equity.

"Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance) will appear all of a sudden on the world scene with a voice from the skies announcing his reappearance at the holy Ka'ba in Mecca. The cloak and other special belongings of Prophet Mohammad... will be with him. He is the essence of all good and the mirror reflecting the characteristics of the 124,000 Prophets sent by God for the guidance of mankind since creation. He calls on all and says I am Baqiat-Allah or the Repository of God on earth. The Prophet had said: Mahdi will appear with a cloud moving above his head. From the sky it will be announced that the hands of the oppressors have been cut and the best of men from the progeny of Mohammad has taken over the leadership. Then the birds will lay abundant eggs and the fish will exceedingly reproduce, the rivers will flow in all their glory and the springs will gush forth from the earth, and the fruits will be multiplied."

"In our discussion of the world in the last days of the earth we had said in our previous editions of this program that no source has pointed to the exact date when the Savior will appear and only God knows about the exact timing of the reappearance of Imam Mahdi... The Prophet had said: He will certainly appear and if only a day were to be left to the end of the world God will make that day so long for Mahdi to appear and rise. There are various versions of the exact day of his reappearance. Some say it would be Friday and the date will be Ashura or the 10th of Moharram, the heart-rending martyrdom anniversary of his illustrious ancestor, Imam Husain... Others say the date will be the 25th of the month of Zil-Qa'dah and may coincide with the Spring Equinox or Nowrooz as the Iranians call [it]. A saying attributed to the Prophet's 6th infallible heir, Imam Ja'far Sadeq... says the Mahdi will appear on the Spring Equinox and God will make him defeat Dajjal the Impostor or the anti-Christ as the Christians say, who will be hanged near the dump of Kufa....

"Then he will be joined by 313 of the most devoted believers, equivalent to the number of those that had accompanied the Prophet at the Battle of Badr, the first armed encounter imposed by the infidels on the Muslims. Imam Mahdi and steadfast devotees will gather in Mecca; the people of Mecca will be surprised at the presence of so many faithful. These enlightened individuals will pledge allegiance to the Mahdi...

"After his appearance the Imam would remain in Mecca for some time, and then go to Medina. According to narrations, Sofyani, a descendant of the Prophet's archenemy Abu Sofyan, will seize Syria and attack Iraq and the Hejaz with the ferocity of a beast. The Sofyani will commit great crimes against humanity in Iraq, slaughtering people bearing the names of the infallible Imams, and his army will lay siege to the city of Kufa and to Holy Najaf. Of course, many incidents take place in this line and finally Imam Mahdi sends troops who kill the Sofyani in Beit ol-Moqaddas [i.e. Jerusalem], the Islamic holy city in Palestine that is currently under occupation of the Zionists. Soon a pious person from the progeny of Imam Hasan Mojtaba... meets with the Imam. He is a venerable God-fearing individual from Iran. Before the Imam's appearance he fights oppression and corruption and enters Iraq to lift the siege of Kufa and holy Najaf and to defeat the forces of Sofyani in Iraq. He then pledges allegiance to Imam Mahdi.

"Another beautiful moment of the Savior's appearance is the coming down of Prophet Jesus... from heaven. Hazrat Mahdi receives him courteously and asks him to lead the prayers. But Jesus says you are more qualified for this than me. We read in the book Tazkarat ol-Olia, 'the Mahdi will come with Jesus son of Mary accompanying him.' This indicates that these two great men... complement each other. Imam Mahdi will be the leader while Prophet Jesus will act as his lieutenant in the struggle against oppression and [for the] establishment of justice in the world. Jesus had himself given the tidings of the coming of God's last messenger and will see Mohammad's ideals materialize in the time of the Mahdi. The seat of the Mahdi's global government will be the city of Kufa, where his headquarters will be the Sahla Mosque, presently outside the city that was the home of Prophet Idrees or Enoch long before the great deluge of the times of Prophet Noah. From here he will dominate the east and the west to fill the earth with justice...

"God will enliven the earth through the Mahdi after the corruption and vice wrought by the oppressors and sinner[s]. Thus his appearance will take place when morality and humanity have reached a dead end. The people's yearning for justice in the midst of all the oppression allows him to carry out his mission. In our time, many pray for his appearance and each day they renew their allegiance to him. "O God, make me one of his companions, show me his respected and bright visage, and hasten his reappearance."

Monday November 27, 2006: "After His Uprising from Mecca, All of Arabia Will Submit to Him, and Then Other Parts of the World as He Marches on Iraq"

"When the sun of freedom and justice shines, the sounds of a rider coming from afar will be heard. The winds obey him, and in his presence the turbulent seas and fiery storms will reach the shore of calmness. The appearance of the Savior will make the fragrance of eternal justice embellish the soul of the earth. The Mahdi... himself will say, my existence is the cause of security and peace for the world people.

"There are various narrations on the global government of peace and justice of Imam Mahdi (may God hasten his reappearance and cleanse the Planet of all vestiges of sin and corruption). Narrations on the global government of justice, the universal government, the government of the deprived, the government of welfare and security, and each of these indicates one aspect of the Savior's government. The justice-spreading universal government encompasses all these. Prophet Mohammad... has been quoted as saying: I give you the good tidings of the Mahdi. He will rise in my Ummah [i.e. the Muslim nation], while my Ummah is entangled in differences and deviations. He will fill the earth that is immersed in oppression, with justice. And all those in heaven and earth will be content with him...

"...One of the first measures of Imam Mahdi... is fighting all centers of domination and power-mongering. In this way, Global Arrogance [i.e. the West headed by America] and its minions puffed up by their economic and military might will try to create problems but they will not be able to change anything in their favor. The Mahdi considers his programs within the framework of conventional criteria, and says: Fear God and surrender to us and hand over the affairs to us. It is up to us to quench your thirst from the spring, as we are the one[s] who take you to its source.

"The Mahdi's far-sightedness and firmness in the face of mischievous elements will strike awe. After his uprising from Mecca, all of Arabia will... submit to him and then other parts of the world as he marches upon Iraq and established his seat of global government in the city of Kufa. Then the Imam will send 10 thousand of his forces to the east and west to uproot the oppressors. At this time God will facilitate things for him and lands will come under his control one after the other. The Prophet's 5th infallible successor, Imam Mohammad Baqer... says: It is as if I see the Mahdi who has taken control of the east and the west, and all obey him.

"Thus, as is clear, in the justice-seeking government the clouds give way to bright sunshine, as the Promised Savior spreads his radiance on the earth. God's infinite kindness will give refuge to mankind and the brightness of truth and justice will be seen in all dimensions of life."

Monday December 11, 2006: "The Idea of Placing Humanity Under One Religion... is a Gift Given by Islam to Humanity"

"... Regarding the Islamic goal of the perfect and ideal state, it should be noted that the world desired by Islam is not a far-fetched idea like the utopia of the West in which the realities of today's society have no effect. Since the natural growth of man is toward sublimity, dedicated Muslims in each and every era strive to materialize the characteristics of the promised society to the best of their ability... The Father of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (may his soul rest in peace) used to emphasize this and would say: We, of course, cannot fill the world with justice now. If we could we certainly would. But since we cannot, he, the Savior must come. The world is full of oppression and if we can prevent oppression we will have carried out our part of the duty..."

"With the reappearance of Imam Mahdi... conflicts, differences and discriminations that stem from lack of faith and atheism in the society will be eliminated. The shortcomings of religions and schools of thought will be clarified and Islam will prevail as the perfect pinnacle of faith. In other words, methods will become one and oneness will appear in people's beliefs. The Mahdi will materialize the call of the holy Qur'an, which throughout its text has urged mankind to unite and worship the One and the Only God without associating partners to him. The writer of the book Imamate and Mahdaviyat, says: the idea of placing humanity under one religion irrespective of their color, gender, language, class and ethnicity is a gift given by Islam to humanity..."

Monday December 25, 2006: "The Unjust System of Distribution and Denial of the Rights of Nations Will End with the Reappearance of Imam Mahdi"

"... In the weird system of today's powerful count[r]ies, moral and spiritual values have no place and are seen as undesirable liabilities that prevent these powers from reaching economic welfare and what they call true prosperity. However, the exploitation of the weak, the unjust system of distribution and denial of the rights of nations, will end with the reappearance of Imam Mahdi...

"One of the characteristics of the global government of the Mahdi is the astounding growth of science and technology. There will be an explosion of science. As we said last week, knowledge is made of 27 letters and up to now whatever man has discovered is within the confines of only 2 letters. But when the Mahdi appears the other 25 letters of knowledge will be at the service of mankind, which is something not imaginable with the limited knowledge that we have today despite the seemingly great progress in science and technology. The Mahdi will correct man's scientific mistakes and bring up new and astonishing methods that had never occurred to man before... The Mahdi will also regain the wealth and properties that have unrightfully been usurped by invaders and oppressors and distribute divine blessings among the people. Imam Baqer... says he will divide them with such equality that there will no longer be any poor person. In Islam's logic justice and good relations among people will lead to the flow of abundant divine blessings from the sky. Since people will have the best of qualities vital rains will pour down and all the earth will be filled with greenness and freshness. The Prophet had said in this regard: in my Ummah, the Mahdi will rise and people will gain such welfare as never seen before. The sky will repeatedly rain and the earth will hide none of the things it can grow."

A dangerous eschatology given the violent hands that handle it.

Bombing at hotel in Pakistan kills 2

This just in...

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - A man set off a bomb outside the Marriott Hotel in Pakistan‘s capital on Friday, killing himself and a guard and wounding at least seven other people in an apparent suicide attack, officials said.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

Police said another hotel guard was in critical condition.

Sherpao said the explosion was the work of "anti-state elements who want to create unrest," but declined to elaborate.

An intelligence official said at least seven people were wounded. He requested anonymity because he was not authorized to speak to media.

The hotel, often frequented by Islamabad‘s foreign community, was targeted in an October 2004 bombing that wounded several people. There were no reports of foreigners hurt in Friday‘s blast.

Security was already high in Islamabad and the rest of Pakistan amid fears of sectarian violence between Shiite and Sunni Muslims during Ashoura, a Shiite religious festival starting Monday.

Another Muslim holiday, another bombing. Like peas in a pod.

Iran receives Russian air defence missiles

From Russia with Love:

DUBAI: Iran has received sophisticated Russian air defence missiles to protect its key nuclear facilities.

Officials disclosed the import of Tor-M1 missile during Iran's three-day military exercises.

These weapons are likely to deployed to safeguard Iranian nuclear facilities at Isfahan, Bushehr, Tehran and eastern Iran, Russia's ITAR-Tass news agency reported.

"We have had constructive defence transactions with Russia and we purchased Tor-M1 missiles that were recently delivered to us," Iran's Defence Minister Mostafa Mohammad Najjar was quoted as saying. Mr. Najjar, however, did not disclose the quantity of the missiles that had been received.

In New York, spokesman for the U.S. mission to the United Nations, Richard Grenell, called the development ``troublesome, given that Iran is the leading state sponsor of terror in the world.''

Also from Dubai:

At a speech in Dubai on 23 January, United States Undersecretary of State for Political Affairs Nicholas Burns told a group of academics, diplomats and journalists that a second US aircraft carrier strike group headed toward the Persian Gulf "is Washington's way of warning Iran to back down in its attempts to dominate the region."

The USS John C Stennis, along with several accompanying ships, is expected to arrive by late February in the Gulf, where it will join the USS Dwight D Eisenhower aircraft carrier group. Its presence will mark the first time since the US-led invasion of Iraq in 2003 that there have been two American carrier battle groups in the region.

A showdown in Persia? Don't count on it. More American buildings will have to fall before this congress will feel in danger again.

Brownback won't support Dems Iraq resolution

November comes a knocking...

WASHINGTON - Kansas Sen. Sam Brownback said Thursday he would not support a resolution drafted by Democrats opposing President Bush's Iraq plan, but he could back a rival proposal that contains less partisan language.

Brownback, among the first Republican lawmakers to publicly break with the president over a troop increase in Iraq, said the resolution approved this week by the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is too divisive.

"I think what we ought to be discussing now as these resolutions move forward is what we should support, not what we're opposed to, and what we can pull together on, not what we're divided on," Brownback said during a conference call with reporters.

The Senate panel on Wednesday passed a resolution that rejects Bush's plans to send 21,500 more troops to Iraq as "not in the national interest." The vote on the nonbinding measure was largely along party lines, though Sen. Chuck Hagel, R-Neb., joined Democrats in offering his support.

Told ya so...

Oil and the War Against Islamic Aggression

The major oil fields all over the world are drying up. These are The Cantarell field of Mexico, the Burgan field of Kuwait, the Daqing field of China, and the granddaddy of them all, the Ghawar field of Saudi Arabia.ncy. Virtually all of them that can are pumping in sea water to displace the oil upwards and force it out of a zillion underground pockets and into the main pool.

The Mexican Cantarell field will stop producing in 2 years and the Mexican economy will crash. It's faltering now. So when it crashes, millions more job seekers will flood into the USA unless we do something damn quick to plug up our border. That's the least of our problems. Our own oil production peaked in 1970 and has been steadily declining since. This isn't just our problem, it's worldwide. The Saudi Ghawar field, biggest of them all, is pumping a minimum of 35% "water cut" which means that at least 35% of what's coming up is seawater that has been pumped in. The figure may be much higher. I reported on the Saudi field a few months back while the Saudis were still denying it.

The price of oil right now is down, almost entirely because of speculation rather than actual market forces. Third world countries can't afford to buy oil at the new higher rates and so their economies are sinking even lower as a result of higher prices. They're dropping out of the competition for oil.

China's oil fields are dying. Quwaits are dying. South America oil fields are dying. Prudhoe Bay in Alaska is dying. What does all this mean? A great deal.

The depletion of the worlds largest oil fields, which are also the worlds oldest, has an obviously grim side. But it also has a bright side. Islam could have never raised its ugly head again the way it has without oil money, which has both funded the migration of muslim arabs to the West, built mosques in the West and financed the terrorism-promoting imams and the terrorist acts themselves.

The Islamic oil producing countries know full well that their time is short and that their wells are beginning to run dry. Without the money to finance terror and war against the West, the muslim aggression will slowly subside and their dreams of world conquest will die forever. This is why they're striking now. They have years ahead of them before the money starts running out and this is their last chance to turn all Earth into the living hell they enjoy for themselves at home, under sharia law.

This is why it's so important to fight back, put up walls, continue tirelessly to repel the enemy. We can't give in or give ground. The Islamics are constantly pushing, setting up one false "religion of peace" organization after another, such as CAIR, to attack our legal system. They're in bed now with the ACLU, which was established by a communist with the goal of subverting America. That may sound like ranting but it unfortunately happens to be true.

Europe is under heavy attack by the Islamists and many parts of Europe are on the verge of becoming Islamic nations. Only a relative few are now fighting back and Europe may well be lost unless the people themselves take up arms in spite of their feeble governments. I don't hold out much hope for that.

The North American continent, Australia, China, Russia, Japan and Israel should be able to fend off the effort at global conversion, but the real hope lies in the fact that the various arab muslim sects treat each other so viciously and brutally. The more time they spend attacking each other, the less time they have to attack us "kaffir". We don't have to practice Divide and Conquer with them, they do it all by themselves.

The "Islamic jihad" being carried out against the West is also being carried out against other muslims, and it's being done not by a single united front but by a rather large variety of separate interests. The only common goal among them is to force Islam onto people, but they all want to be the dominant sect of Islam and there are many. Thus they all end up fighting with each other for supremacy.

We should be promoting this for our own safety and in a way we are. The hornets nest stirred up by the Iraq invasion will really erupt once we leave and the slaughter will be extreme. I have little doubt that the Saudi Sunnis will take full advantage and attack Iran when Shiite Iran sides with the Iraqi Shiites to kill off all the Iraqi Sunnis and other faiths. The Middle East will erupt, and all the better for us. Oil prices will go way up but they're going to anyway and we might as well get used to the idea now. Get ready for rationing.

Massod the Fraudulent Imam

From Miss Kelly:

There was an article in today's Patriot Ledger about the federal frand jury. It has to do with Imam Muhammed Masood, who was one of the imams arrested last November in the religious visa fraud "sting." Although the Islamic Center of New England originally staunchly supported Masood, they are telling him and his family to leave the 52-acre Sharon estate. The attorney for the ICNE confirmed that members of the ICNE were called before a federal grand jury this month on the matter of alleged immigration violations. They said it, not me!

Oil and Islam don't mix

Barbary pirateFor the past few hundred years, Muslims have been minor annoyances, usually as pirates on the Barbary Coast or as slave-dealers in Africa. But the last 50 years have given Arab countries so much money that the only way they know how to spend it is to spread Islamic terror. Without oil money these sand fleas would have remained poor and ignorant dregs of humanity of little consequence and with no valuable contribution to modern civilization. Now that Arabia has our oil money they have turned into rich and ignorant dregs of humanity of violent consequence and still with no valuable contribution to modern civilization.

But wouldn't the same thing happen with extreme, religious Jews if they got tons of money? Absolutely not. Although religious Jews also start schools or Yeshivas, the students are never taught that the gentiles should be converted to Judaism or that the entire world should become Judaic. If anything, Judaism does not want people to become Jews. "Leave us alone" is the operative phrase. You will never see a Jew asking a Christian if he has accepted Moses as his personal saviour or see a Jew forcing a Muslim to convert under threat of force. So if Israel were to have all the oil instead of Muslims, the world would not only be safer but the money would be used for the betterment of mankind. One only has to see that the tiny State of Israel with a pinky-nail of the world's population and a sliver of the moneys that Arabs get from oil, has contributed more technological advances and garnered more patents, inventions, discoveries and scientific advances than the entire Muslim world COMBINED. That is so absurdedly true I have to say it twice: The entire Muslim world combined.

On a visit to Israel in October 2005, Microsoft chairman, Bill Gates, said, "People in high tech are very aware that Israel–compared to its small size–has some amazing technological achievements. There is a greater concentration of talented high-tech manpower here in comparison to other countries–almost to the extent of Silicon Valley." [juf.org]

Everyone wants to invest in Israel: ISRAEL - A POWERHOUSE FOR TECHNOLOGY, Excerpt:
Certainly interest in Israeli companies from abroad is higher than ever. Foreign investment in Israeli companies is growing every year, as are mergers and acquisitions. Since the start of 2006, foreign investors have acquired more than 30 Israeli companies, including startups, at a value of more than $10 billion. The Manufacturers Association of Israel expects that direct foreign investment will grow to between $12-13 billion by the end of the year, compared to $5.6b. in 2005.

In July, in the middle of the Lebanon war, personal computer giant, Hewlett-Packard purchased Mercury Interactive for $4.5 billion in the largest ever acquisition of an Israeli high-tech company. This was followed almost immediately afterwards by the $1.55b. purchase of Kfar-Saba based M-Systems, a pioneer in flash disk technology, by SanDisk Corp. EMC purchased three Israeli start-ups this year, Kashya ($153m.), nLayers, and Proactivity. While Xerox acquired XMPie for $54m.

Vardi quotes figures that show that in 2005, venture capitalists invested $1.34 billion in Israeli companies, making the country the second highest destination for VC capital after the US. The UK, for example, a country of 60 million, compared to Israel's seven million, came in at third place with $1.29b. in VC investment.

Here are a few recent Israeli innovations:
'DreamBox' surveillance system from Israel protects American water supply, Excerpt:
[December 31, 2006] If you were an industrial terrorist aiming to harm a civilian American population center, what target would you choose? Water supplies would be a natural choice, which is why the Homeland Security Department and other federal and local agencies are utilizing the most advanced security measures to protect those sites from sabotage.

That's also why a major water authority based on the east coast of the US has selected an Israeli-developed solution to safeguard the utility's multiple sites from hazardous threats and malicious activity

optic videoIsraeli optical breakthrough poised to change the world of mobile entertainment , Excerpt:
[December 17, 2006] ... the problem with most of portable digital gadgets on the market is that you have to squint to see the picture. Unless you want to lug around a laptop, peering into a tiny screen on an ipod, cell phone, or even one of the new palm-sized portable video recorders (PVR) may get the job done, but they're no match for the full large-screen viewing experience.

That's where Lumus comes in. The Israeli company has developed 'designer' eyeglasses with proprietary optic lenses which promise to make the squint problems passé. Lightweight, fashionable, and offering a large see-through screen with high resolution in full color, Lumus is set to lead a new era in video viewing.

Israeli startup transforms sewage sludge into fuel, Excerpt:
[December 07, 2006] Sewage sludge is the last place where you'd expect to find something valuable. But the brains behind Israeli startup BioPetrol say it is exactly the place where it is possible to find gasoline and natural gas. The company has developed a method of extracting oil out of sewage sludge, and converting it into various petroleum products.

pirate shipI could list Israeli scientific accomplishments for years and not run out. On the other hand, Saudi Arabia is awash with billions in oil money and what do they invest in? Madrassas that spawn suicide bombers and soldiers for Jihad. That's it. Arabs have contributed nothing to civilization. If I'm wrong, please leave a comment and let me know one patent number in the past 50 years for one single Saudi invention. One. [... waiting ...]

I think it is time that the world seriously consider taking the oil fields from the corrupt, ignorant and wasteful present-day pirates.

35,000 Iraq civilians died in 2006, UN says

A real "who-dun-it"?
The UN today said almost 35,000 civilians were killed in Iraq last year - a sharp increase on the numbers previously reported by the Iraqi government.
Gianni Magazzeni, the chief of the UN assistance mission for Iraq, said 34,452 civilians were killed and 36,685 wounded last year.

Iraqi government figures, issued in early January, put last year's civilian death toll at 12,357.

When asked about the difference, Mr Magazzeni said the UN figures had been compiled from information obtained through the Iraqi health ministry, hospitals across the country and the Medico-Legal Institute in the capital, Baghdad.

"Without significant progress in the rule of law, sectarian violence will continue indefinitely and eventually spiral out of control," he warned.

Mr Magazzeni said 6,376 civilians were killed in violence in November and December. Of those, 4,731 died in Baghdad, most from gunshot wounds. He said the figure was a slight decrease from the previous two month period.

The mission's latest bimonthly report also said casualty figures from some areas had not yet been included in the December total.

How many of these were insurgents? Or their victims? Watch as the MSM spins these figures to look like the coalitiion killed all of these. Remember they are killing each other by the busload. Read Magazzeni's warning: it is sectarian violence and the lack of the rule of law. The lazy Iraqis need to step up.

Two former Saddam comrades executed

Saddam had a brother and his head *popped* off:

Two of Saddam Hussein's former comrades were executed in Baghdad Monday, including his half-brother Barzan al-Tikriti, the government said.

Iraqi government spokesman Ali al-Dabbagh told a news conference in Baghdad that Tikriti, who headed the intelligence service under Saddam, and the former head of the Revolutionary Court Awad al-Bandar, were hanged at dawn "according to legal conditions."

He added, however, that in "a rare case," Tikriti's head was dismembered at the time of the hanging, which forensic experts said could happen if the execution was carried out in an inappropriate manner.

Director of Jordan's National Forensic Center, Momen al-Hadidi, told United Press International the hanging seemed to have been "inferior" and lacked "international standards provided in the rope" in terms of its quality and length.

International standards in a hanging rope? That seems oddly humane considering the butchers we are talking about. PC and the press prevail once more.

Where are all moderate Muslims?

I found this article entitled "Where are all moderate Muslims?" by JILL CARROLL. I believe that Jill is very blind to what is going on and the roots of Islamic teaching. While I agree that there is moderate Muslims. I do not agree with Mrs Carrolls thesis. Here is a break down of the article and my response:

The question is problematic because of what it assumes: that Islam is naturally predisposed to extremist interpretation; that most of the up to 10 million Muslims in the United States are not moderate, but radical; that those who claim to be moderate aren't because they don't stand up and denounce the extremists. None of these assumptions is supported by evidence. In fact, evidence exists to the contrary.

I tend to disagree there is much evidence to support the idea that many Muslim organizations that are supposed to be "moderate" are not. For instance CAIR (Council on American Islamic Relations) has had many people that while working for them have been brought up on Terror charges. They have had people that openly support Hamas. Sure they have condemned specific "acts" of terrorism but they will not label groups like Hamas and Hezbollah as terrorist organizations. Thats a bit of a problem considering the fact they are the groups that are committing terrorist acts not to mention they are the enemy of our country. So why will CAIR not denounce these terrorist organizations by name? CAIR is very problematic and I have barely scrapped the surface. This is not a Liberal or Conservative issue. This was showed by Barbra Boxer recently when she took back an award she had given to a member of CAIR. Also you should take a look at this video. You will notice that the member of CAIR will not denounce Hamas and Bezbollah. Also take a look at the rest of my post about CAIR here.
If CAIR and other Muslim organizations wanted to be truly moderate. If they really wanted to defeat terror why is it when a group like the Free Muslim Coalition has an anti-terror rally in DC that CAIR and many organizations don't support it? Ibrahim Hooper the spokesman from CAIR had this to say about this organization: "groups such as the Free Muslim Coalition Against Terrorism and the American Islamic Congress do not represent mainstream American Islam."
"They're free to reflect their viewpoint," he said. "We have our views, and we believe our views reflect the mainstream of the American Islamic community." SOURCE

I'd like to know what view points of the Free Muslim Coalition he doesn't agree with? To me they seem to be taking a firm stance against terrorism isn't that supposed to be a good thing? On top of that it seems that there was around 50 people that showed up for this rally against Terrorism. Many of them seemed to be Christians and Jews. Read here. Why is it that many Muslims can show out in masses for anti-Israel protest and protest against Cartoons. Take a look here Yet when there is a protest against terrorism and terrorist groups hardly anyone shows?

We have not had so much as a backpack bomb in this country since 9/11, and it's not because our security measures are so foolproof. Our largely terror-free experience comes because we have a free, prosperous society governed by a stable rule of law that offers tremendous opportunities for life and happiness, including religious expression. Muslims, like so many other religious, ethnic and racial groups in America, are integrated into all areas of life in all parts of the country, all sorts of neighborhoods, in all sorts of professions. They go to work, pay their taxes, raise their kids and participate in faith communities like most other citizens and residents of this country. They peacefully co-exist with others in this demographically pluralistic nation, just like almost everyone else does. They are our neighbors, co-workers, clients, friends and in-laws.

Agreed there are Muslims that do want a peaceful existence with unbelievers. Thank God they choose to ignore or do not know the deep rooted jihad ideology in Islam. As for the reason we have not been attacked since 9/11 I believe many plots have been foiled. Many of these attacks were not on the scale of 9/11 but they were attacks by Islamist. Example there was a plot to blow up a mall in Chicago read here. Also there was also an Iranian that ran over students at North Carolina University. He did it in the name of Allah and to take revenge on America.Read here. Further I believe that many of the Islamist wait until they have built up enough people to attack. That is another reason we don't see attacks on our soil right now. This was showed by the prophet of Islam Muhammad and the Treaty of Hudaybiya. He made a treaty until he could build a big enough army to attack. You can read more about that here.

Yet, we act like they've come straight from the burning streets of Baghdad or the caves of Tora Bora with plans to blow us up. We see imams praying in the airport and have them taken off the plane. We see women wearing a hijab get on a bus or subway, and we feel ourselves tense up. Or, as happened recently when I attended a large interfaith dinner here in Houston and the well-known president of a respected Muslim organization got up to bless the food in Arabic, someone at a nearby table said, "We'd better hope he's not calling for jihad!"

First of all the situation at the airport is very watered down here. The Imams were not just praying. That is not why they were pulled off the plane. First of all they were hard making anti-American comments by some witnesses and they alligned their seating arrangement like the hijackers on 9/11. They also ask for seatbelt extensions they never used. All this and much more has been documented here. So it was not that they were just praying. Not to mention one of the Imams had some ties to organizations that were not to good. Read here. Many Muslims fly everyday and are not pulled of the plane. These men were acting suspicious that is why they were pulled off.

As for the mocking of the statement "We'd better hope he's not calling for jihad". I fully agree that and we should know what is going on in mosque and what is being taught. They have found that many Mosque here in America are teaching hatred and have books and material teaching extremist ideologies in many of the major mosques. You can find more information about this here.
It has been also be reported by a Sufi Muslim that 80 percent of Mosque in America are funded by extremist. More on that here.

I believe that most people would agree what I have just outlined is very troublesome. So why cant justifiable questions be asked of Muslims about what they believe concerning the issues I have shown? I am not making the Extremist believe what they do. I am simply pointing out what they believe and the cold reality that we do not want to face.

What if we Lose?

What happens if the US turns tail and runs? What happens if we say the price paid for liberty is too high? What happens to the US when the leftists get their desire fulfilled? Puling out of IRaq is detrimental to the Iraqis and the Americans. It also will cause a reaction towards our allies. This is not an assumption nor conjecture. This is historical fact.

Based on historical responses of the terrorists, any withdraw based on anything short of victory is deemed a victory for the terrorists. They will be dancing in the streets all around the Middle East, North Korea, Malaysia, and Venezuela. The affect on world politics will sway the world towards China and Russia. The Cold War victory will be considered a rouse. Any nation that allied itself with the United Sates will have to revisit that position and more than likely deem us unreliable and untrustworthy. The Islamists will have achieved what the Soviet Union couldn't. The naysayers and the appeasers will get exactly what they asked for. A beaten United States that has no pull or authority to help itself let alone anyone else. The idea of liberty will be seen as a joke and thrown to the garbage pile of history.

Any Iraqi, Shiite or Sunni, that contributed to building the new government and assisted the US in it's endeavor will be deemed a traitor and killed. The killing fields will be relative garden beds compared to what will happen in Iraq as well as throughout the Middle East. The sites we saw after Saddams gassing of the Kurds will become commonplace. Tribal warfare will return. Iran and Syria will move in to take over by a proxy "leader". Another major oil field will be under the control of fanatical Islamists. If you thought $3 gas was bad, runaway from Iraq.

The terrorist claim of victory will cause more terror acts. The nightmare that France has been dealing with will get worse. Englands bombing on 7/07 will become regular. Spain will end up returning to the Moorish state it was a couple hundred years ago. The Islamist allies in South America will be emboldened and economic pressure will be applied. The depression has nothing on what is coming if we decide to runaway. Saudi Arabia will have to look elsewhere for it's security. Where might that be? Maybe Russia, maybe China, maybe both. Russia would love to get back at us. Vladimir Putin doesn't see the loss of the Cold War as being caused by a failed ideology. He see's it as a loss for Mother Russia. Payback will be ten fold.

If we leave before victory is achieved, we will have no allies. We will be no better than the French during WWII. We will be kissing the boot of whoever runs the world just so we can have a scrap of bread to eat. It doesn't take a genius to figure any of this out. Read some history books. Not modern ones revised for political correctness. Older books that didn't care about someone's politics. The enemy does not think or act like us. They do not see history the way we do. They see themselves as suffering retribution for leaving the way of the prophet. This is what incites them. To see us infidels prospering while they suffer does not force them to face reality. It sends them even deeper into dementia. It's sad to see leftist's try to take all of us with them.

Losing is not an option that we or our children can afford. In life there are winners and losers. It's a simple approach. It is one that people don't like. No one wants to be a loser. If you can't win you do your best to make the enemy think they lost. Islamists are doing everything they can to do this. Tragically we are letting them.

"Peace Loving" Imam Deported to Middle East

Fawaz Damrah
From Brigette Gabriel:

A Common Voice article by Jim Kouri, CPP

While the Council on American-Islamic Relations, or CAIR, may not send out press releases celebrating the capture, imprisonment and deportation of an imam, Americans should be aware that some clerics from the "religion of peace" may require closer scrutiny by law enforcement.

The US government last Friday deported a former Cleveland imam to the Palestinian territories after he was convicted by a federal jury of lying about his involvement with a designated terrorist organization.

Fawaz Damrah, 46, previously the imam of Ohio's largest mosque, raised money in the early 1990s for the group Palestinian Islamic Jihad, which is designated by the US State Department as a foreign terrorist organization.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials initiated the removal process against Damrah after the US Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Ohio successfully prosecuted Damrah for lying on his naturalization application by not disclosing his affiliation with the terrorist organization.

Immigration Judge Marsha Nettles subsequently ordered Damrah removed from the United States for providing material support to a terrorist organization, following the imam's one-year in federal prison.

The PIJ has carried out a long campaign of terror through suicide bombings and assassinations. In February 1990, the PIJ attacked a tour bus in Egypt, killing 11 people, including nine Israelis. The PIJ has also threatened Western interests and targeted US officials for assassination. In recent weeks, the PIJ has fired rockets into Israel despite an official cease-fire in Gaza.

Evidence presented during Damrah's criminal trial showed that he exploited the PIJ's terrorist attacks during fundraising activities for the organization. On videotape shown in court of a 1991 fundraising event, Damrah is seen explaining that, "...whoever donates... it is as if he too is fighting the holy war, and he will be rewarded like him, even if he stays home."

During other fundraising events Damrah said, "Terrorism and terrorism alone is the path to liberation."

Meanwhile, Muslims in the Detroit, MI area have repeatedly supported the imam, claiming that he is a "peace loving and religious man."

Upon arrival in Israel's international airport, the imam was met by Israeli security agents and arrested. The Israeli government hasn't commented on what they will do with Damrah or what charges will be brought against him.

Why doesn't this kind of stuff get media attention? It's why we are here.

Syria: Middle East peace not currently possible

Commitment is in the eye of the beholder.

Peace in the Middle East was an impossibility in light of US President George Bush's announcement to send more troops to Iraq, Syrian Foreign Minister Farouk al-Shara said on Thursday, according to a report on Israel Radio.

"There is no reason to expect that the peace process will be restarted without the clear commitment of the Americans," al-Shara said.

Yes but commitment to what?

Meanwhile the perception of our commitment wavers:

The Democratic congressional election victory in November showed that "American voters expect us to help get us out of Iraq," Sen. Joseph Biden of Delaware, a 2008 presidential hopeful and chairman of the Foreign Relations Committee, said as his panel heard independent experts on Iraq.

Sen. Richard Lugar of Indiana, "The president and his team need to explain what objectives we are trying to achieve if forces are expanded, where and how they will be used," and how long more troops may be needed.

This is political nitpicking in a time of war that will make us vulnerable in the future.

A Muslim For President?

Are Americans ready for a Muslim President? Have you given that possibility any real thought? We now have Rep. Keith Ellison, a freshman Minnesota Democrat, and the first Muslim in congress. I have no idea if he has presidential ambitions, but it's something any politician must think about. Now it is something American people need to think about.

I don't like to deal in rumor and unsubstantiated claims. Having said that, I will mention the following simply for discussion purposes in this post, a 'what if' situation. Layla at The HILL Chronicles , says this to her readers about Barack Obama:

There have been many rumors and much controversy regarding Barack Obama’s past. Namely the fact that he was raised Muslim, but is now a professing Christian. There are some that do not believe he is really a Christian and say once a Muslim always a Muslim. And in the wake of how Rep. Ellison carried on one would be fool hearty not to thoroughly look at Obama with a magnifying glass. You decide. About Obama’s upbringing here is some general information:
Barack Obama was born in 1961 in Hawaii to a white mother from Kansas and black father from Kenya who met while attending the University of Hawaii. His mother Anna, as Obama describes her in his 1995 memoir Dreams from My Father: A Story of Race and Inheritance, was “a lonely witness for secular humanism, a soldier for New Deal, Peace Corps, position-paper liberalism.”

His father, also named Barack (Swahili for “One who is blessed by God,” and perhaps via Arabic and Semitic roots related to the Hebrew baruch, “blessed”) Obama, left his rural Luo-speaking village and his Muslim father to become an “agnostic” and study economics abroad. His son was two when the elder Barack left the boy and his mother to return to Harvard University and then to Kenya, where he became a globe-traveling economist for the government.

When young Obama was six, his mother married an Indonesian oil manager, a “non-practicing Muslim,” and the family moved to Jakarta, where his half-sister Maya was born. In this exotic Islamic country, wrote Obama’s good friend, the liberal lawyer and best-selling novelist Scott Turow, Barack Obama spent “two years in a Muslim school, then two more in a Catholic school.”

On the other side of the spectrum is Austin Cline that wrote and op-ed called, Barack Obama, Islam, and Rumor-Mongering. In the article Cline quotes Adam Yoshida who states “problems” with Obama:

I think that someone whose name is one letter removed from “Osama” and whose farther was a Moslem will obviously be starting with some serious disadvantages. And, while I’m at it, I’ll also ad that there are (unconfirmed) rumours that Obama himself is secretly a Muslim. Now, I don’t believe them but, if Obama ever runs for President, I won’t mind spreading them.

[snip]

Yet Barrak Obama called himself a man of faith in 2004:

“I am a Christian.… So, I have a deep faith. I’m rooted in the Christian tradition. I believe that there are many paths to the same place, and that is a belief that there is a higher power, a belief that we are connected as a people.

“That there are values that transcend race or culture, that move us forward, and there’s an obligation for all of us individually as well as collectively to take responsibility to make those values lived.”

You can "Listen to BlowOUT with Layla on Barack Obama" at The HILL chronicles and you can also read the rest of her article here. This story, if there is one, is hers and I'm sure she will be posting more if more information becomes available.

I think Americans are probably willing to elect a president from any religion, as long as he is the right man/woman for the job ... UNLESS he/she is Muslim. I can't see that happening in my lifetime. Americans are pretty open and accepting, but the potential ramifications of an Islamic president are just too much for us in the near future, or ever as far as I am concerned. Call me Islamophobic if you want.

I welcome your opinions, comments on this subject. Whether you agree with anything in this article or not, discussion on the subject of a Muslim President of the United States is what we need right now. Talk to me

MS-13 in Tennessee

La Mara Salvatrucha, or MS-13 is referred to as a dangerous gang, but they are more than a gang. They are murderers, rapists, thieves, and terrorists. They are a violent international criminal organization composed primarily of immigrants (many illegal aliens) or descendants of immigrants from El Salvador.

Now they are in Tennessee. The Department of Justice announced the indictment of 13 members of MS-13 today which alleges that gang members killed three people and attempted to kill at least seven others. The indictment further alleges that MS-13 was organized in "cliques," including the Thompson Place Locos Salvatruchos clique (TPLS), which operated in Nashville.

Marasalvatruchamember (MS-13 member with common tattoos) The MS-13 gang has cliques, or factions, located throughout the United States and is unique in that it retains its ties to its Salvadoran counterparts. In 2005, the FBI declared Mara Salvatrucha to be the most dangerous gang not only in the United States, but the entire globe.

Membership is believed to total over 50,000 in the United States alone. MS-13 criminal activities include drug smuggling and sales, black market gun sales, human trafficking, assassinations for hire, theft, and assaults on law enforcement officials. (Wikipedia)

According to the U.S. Department of Justice, the 13 have been 'indicted by a federal grand jury in the Middle District of Tennessee on charges that they conspired to participate in a violent RICO enterprise responsible for killings and other violent crimes.

The one-count racketeering indictment names the following 13 individuals, all of whom are currently in federal or state custody:

* Oscar Serrano, a/k/a "Diablin"

* Escolastico Serrano, a/k/a "Chito"

* Omar Hirbin Gomez, a/k/a "Lil Homie"

* David Alexander Gonzalez, a/k/a "Psycho"

* Ernesto Isai Mendez-Tovar, a/k/a "Joker," a/k/a "Choey"

* Francisco Dago Mendez, a/k/a "Silent"

* Walter Hernandez, a/k/a "Spanky"

* Henry Garballo-Vasquez, a/k/a "Cuervo"

* Eliseo Iglesias, a/k/a "Smokey"

* Ronald Fuentes, a/k/a "Spia"

* Ericka Cortez, a/k/a "Shorty"

* Geovanni Pena, a/k/a "Rata," and

* Jose Alfaro, a/k/a "Liche." (source)

Assistant Attorney General Fisher said, "We will utilize the same tools we used to put Mafia leaders behind prison bars to confront the threat posed by violent criminal enterprises like the MS-13." Tennessee has a problem with illegal aliens, and some MS-13 members fall into that category. They 'originated in Los Angeles and quickly spread across the country, including to Middle Tennessee, and currently include approximately 10,000 members in at least 10 states, Mexico, Honduras and El Salvador, making it one of the largest street gangs in the United States.'

"MS 13 makes up one percent of one percent of the Latino community in Nashville," said Jim Cavanaugh with the ATF (Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms). [snip]

If convicted, the defendants face life in prison. (source)

More on illegals in Tennessee from stickNstein, An Illegal Immigration Magnet…….Tennessee Lawmakers talk Tough…… :

An article at The Tennessean.com says folks are getting mad and the new crop of politicians coming back to the Capitol for this years’ session are feeling it.
“This is my country. I fought for this country. I hold this country deeply in my heart,” said Brown, 40, of Hermitage. “I am not going to let illegal immigrants come in and intimidate us.”

His sentiments are held by many in Middle Tennessee — part of a broader national chorus calling out for something to be done about illegal immigration. The National Conference of State Legislatures last week forecast that illegal immigration would be the hottest issue for legislators across the country this year.

KEEPING UP THE HEAT……..Politicians in Washington as well as State Legislatures think the half hearted, un-funded, and un-enforced excuses for legislation passed to get themselves re-elected
last year have lulled Americans to sleep about illegal immigration. [snip]

But a Tennessee lawmaker STATED:

“We need to demagnetize the state. We need to stop Tennessee from being a magnet for illegal immigrants,”said Rep. Glen Casada, R-Franklin.

Maybe Tennessee is finally waking up to the big problem we have here. Getting rid of MS-13 members is a good first step.

Nazanin Afshin-Jam and Nazanin Fatehi

nazanin afshin-jamNazanin Fatehi went through her re-trial today in Iran. In her first trial she was sentenced to death by hanging for the death of a man she had stabbed when he and two other men attempted to rape her and her neice. She was granted a second trial because international attention was brought to the case through the efforts of a former Miss Canada, Nazanin Afshin-Jam.

Unfortunately, the plight of Nazanin Fatehi is not uncommon in Ahmadinejad's Iran. The role of women has not only be devalued, but their plight in Iran is horrific. They are not allowed to be raped and they are not allowed to defend themselves when they are raped. Either way, they are condemned to death. When they are hanged, they are left hanging as an example to other women. They are executed for 'crimes against chastity'.

The value of a woman's life in Iran is half that of a man's in terms of blood money, and her testimony in court is also worth half that of a man. [source]

nazanin fetehiSeventeen-year-old Nazanin Fatehi and her 16-year-old neice had met their boyfriends to ride motorcycles. They were sitting in a park when three men approached them and began to be aggressive towards the girls. The two boyfriends fled the scene, leaving the two girls to fend for themselves. When the men tore off Nazanin's head scarf and dress she started stabbing them. When she got free of the men, she grabbed her neice and fled.

She was charged with and convicted of murder and sentenced to death by public hanging. In her re-trial today the judges determined that the previous finding of the court was in error and therefore that the death of the would-be rapist was not intentional. This is wonderful news. But the disposition of the case is still not determined and Nazanin Fatehi remains in prision. No one seems to know how the judges will decide her fate for what they have determined was not an intentional killing.

Many girls in similar situations in Iran have been publically hung
. The difference in this case seems to be the international attention and pressure on the Iranian government.

CAIR speaks about Boxer taking back award

Over at Little Green Footballs they have posted a video from CNN showing Ibrahim hooper talking about the situation with Boxer taking back an award from CAIR. You can read more about that incident here.
Watch the video of the interview here.
A few things I noticed from this interview with Hooper.

1. He really showed how Anti-Israel CAIR really is. He also pretty much says no Muslim can be Pro-Israel. I disagree with you Hooper. How about the people over at http://www.arabsforisrael.com and how about this Muslim at a Pro Israel rally here. Sure the Muslims that support Israel are few and far between. But why does your organization CAIR have to be Anti-Israel?

2. If your organization is against terrorism why is it that you wont denounce groups like Hamas and Hezbollah by name? Sure you will condemn acts of violence but why wont you say "We are against Hamas and Hezbollah and what they stand for." Is it because you have people within CAIR that support these groups? I believe it is as you can read here. Until you Condemn groups like Hamas and Hezbollah that are enemies of the United States you are no friend of our country.

Pending Civil War

What does it take to win a war? Obviously more than we are presently doing. I have stated numerous times that we haven't fought an all out war since WWII. Korea and Vietnam were approached as limited warfare. We stopped before true victory could be attained or refused to go after victory. The first Gulf War was the same. We send troops in and the bad guys ran away. Only to return after we left. This present war in Afghanistan and Iraq is going along the same line. War wasn't conducted. Yes people were killed and bombed. This is not an indicator od true war. We toppled governments but defeated no enemy. The majority had run away to hide so they could fight another day.

True war is utter destruction and carnage. Bombs, bullets, and fire. war is destruction until the enemy creams uncle. This didn't happen. The enemy hinted at uncle and we stopped. We wanted the war to be over so it was. The problem didn't go away it only changed names. Terrorism is a tool of the enemy. The enemy needs to be named what it is, Islamism. This title hurts people feelings. Too bad. I hate having to here about the inquisition. I'm not even Catholic and somehow I get lumped into this. So be it. I'm more than capable of defending and chastising my co-faithful.

Islamists are on the rise. Birth rates and immigration patterns indicate that they will be the majority in European nations by 2025. At his point Europe and America will cease being allies, if that hasn't happened already. If America is involved with it's own internal problems, we will be a non-player in just about everything. Fight the terrorists get labeled bigoted. Don't fight the terrorists become oppressed. Diplomacy doesn't work with those whose end goal is domination. Where's James Bond when we need him?

If we aren't willing to fight we should all learn where Mecca is at all times. Extreme as that sounds, it is true. What appeared unlikely just 10 years ago is coming to fruition. Appeasement and cowardice are ruling the day. If you thought the Civil War you read about in the history books was bad, wait until the next one. This one will not be just for the survival of a union. It will be for the survival of Humanity itself.

Muslim Congressman Wants Immediate Withdrawl from Iraq

Click for Video
File Under: NO DUH!

WASHINGTON - The first Muslim member of Congress says the solution to Iraq lies in an immediate withdrawal of military forces and focusing instead on political and diplomatic efforts.

"We could describe it as a redeployment or withdrawal, but I think we have run the course in terms of our ability to resolve this conflict militarily," said Rep. Keith Ellison, a freshman Minnesota Democrat.

"I think we need to have a political and economic and diplomatic engagement, and we need to encourage the forces that are in Iraq to begin to resolve the violence in Iraq," Ellison said Tuesday during an interview with The Associated Press.

Ellison argued that President Bush's expected plan to send 20,000 more troops to Iraq is "way too late, way too little" to make a difference.

"So rather than do something small and ineffective, why not get about the business of what we're going to have to do eventually, which is to begin to end the occupation?" he said.

Spoken like a true believer.

Philippines kills senior Abu Sayyaf leader

Another on bites the dust...

Manila (dpa) - A senior leader of the al-Qaeda-linked Muslim Abu Sayyaf group was killed in a clash with government troops on a southern Philippine island, the military chief said Wednesday.

General Hermogenes Esperon said Binang Sali, chief of the Abu Sayyaf's urban terror unit, was killed late Tuesday in a brief firefight in Patikul town on Jolo island, 1,000 kilometres south of Manila.

"As the chief of the Abu Sayyaf urban terror group, Sali was largely responsible for the bombings in Jolo," he said in a statement.

Esperon said troops recovered the rebel's body and a pistol after the firefight.

"His neutralization translates to one bomber less that could carry out an attack on any target during the Association of South-East Asian Nations (ASEAN) summit," he added.

Major Eugene Batara, a regional military spokesman, said government troops have been trailing Sali for several weeks until soldiers finally caught up with his group on Tuesday.

"Our troops did not suffer any casualty in the brief clash," he said. "Sali's men immediately withdrew under cover of darkness."

Batara said soldiers in the area were not able to determine if there were any more casualties in the rebels' side.

The military and police were placed on red alert on Wednesday, two days before leaders from 16 countries were scheduled to start arriving in Cebu province, 585 kilometres south of Manila, for the ASEAN and East Asian summits.

The struggle continues...as they determine that 9 bombs exploded in Bangkok.

The Tale Of Two Nazanins

From the Help Nazanin Fateh website:

On January 3, 2006, 18-year-old Nazanin Mahabad Fatehi was sentenced to death for murder by court in Iran after she stabbed one of three men who attempted to rape her and her 16-year-old niece in a park in Karaj (a suburb of Tehran) in March 2005. She was seventeen at the time. Iran is signatory to international treaties which forbid them to execute any one under the age of 18; however they continue to do so.

The injustice of this case propelled Nazanin Afshin-Jam to take immediate action and start a petition to help save the life of her namesake. The petition now has over 200 000 signatures from around the world.

Since initiating the Save Nazanin Campaign with Mina Ahadi- the Head of the International Committee Against Execution and Stoning- and through the help of other human rights groups and individuals, they have been able to engage the UN, Canadian Parliament, the EU, Amnesty International and others to pressure the Iranian Officials to spare the life of this child.

Please visit this website and sign this petition. You know we talk alot about the injustices in the Muslim world, now let's do something about it.

U.S. Hits Al Qaeda In Somalia

Well I was wrong...I guess Bush is willing to go after Al-Qaeda in Somalia after all.

MOGADISHU, Somalia A U.S. air strike hit targets in southern Somalia where Islamic militants were believed to be sheltering suspects in the 1998 bombings of two U.S. embassies, Somali officials and witnesses said Tuesday. Many people were reported killed.

Monday's attack was the first overt military action by the U.S. in Somalia since the 1990s and the legacy of a botched intervention — known as "Black Hawk Down" — that left 18 U.S. servicemen dead.

Helicopter gunships launched new attacks Tuesday near the scene of the U.S. air strike, although it was not clear if they were American or Ethiopian aircraft, and it was not known if there were any casualties.

U.S. warships have been seeking to capture al Qaeda members thought to be fleeing Somalia after Ethiopia invaded Dec. 24 in support of the government and drove the Islamic militia out of the capital and toward the Kenyan border.

The White House would not confirm the attack, nor would the Pentagon.

But a U.S. government official said at least one AC-130 gunship was used. The official spoke on condition of anonymity because of the operation's sensitivity.

AC-130 gunships have elaborate sensors that can go after targets day or night. They are operated by the Special Operations Command and have been used heavily against the Taliban in Afghanistan.

I commented yesterday that Somalia probably wouldn't get any help from the US given their track record with Black Hawk Down. I completely overlooked a possible air assualt against Al-Qaeda militants being chased out by Ethiopian ground troops. My bad...

Remarkable turnaround for Mogadishu

Victory In Yusuf?

Somali President Abdullahi Yusuf entered Mogadishu on Monday to cap a remarkable turnaround in the capital the Islamists ruled for six months until they were ousted before the New Year, a government source said.

If confirmed, the arrival of Yusuf, protected by his own soldiers plus Ethiopian troops who helped the government drive out the Islamists, would be the 72-year-old veteran soldier's first time in Mogadishu since taking office in 2004.

"The president has arrived in Mogadishu. He is now resting at Nasa Hablod hotel. We are now preparing his house in Villa Somalia, where he will be staying," a government source, who declined to be named, told Reuters.

The bullet-scarred Villa Somalia compound is the former presidential palace of dictator Mohamed Siad Barre, whose 1991 ouster as Somalia's last national president in 1991 triggered more than 15 years of anarchy.

Yusuf had stayed out of Mogadishu, where he is an outsider and still has many enemies from his time as warlord based in the semi-autonomous northern Puntland region.

Wow the American equivilant might be like George Bush entering San Francisco. I'm not sure whether it is a good thing to have a hated ex-warlord as a president but I geuss anything beats Sharia law. Come to think of it, the Polosi crowd already think of GWB as a "ex"war-lord. Given the track record at Mogadishu , Yusuf should probably think GWB an ex if looking for help.

Iraq's Leader Says Campaign Will Make Baghdad Safer

Arms control:

In a speech on military issues, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said a new Baghdad security plan has gone through several revisions and is now ready.

Mr. Maliki said the goal of the plan is to protect the Iraqi people and to ensure that weapons are in the hands of government forces, not militias, regardless of their sectarian or political affiliation. He said Iraq's armed forces will not permit anyone to act as a replacement to the democratically elected sovereign government.

The prime minister's announcement follows reports from Washington that President Bush will be sending more U.S. troops to Iraq. The president is expected to outline that plan publicly sometime in the coming week.

In his remarks Saturday, Prime Minister Maliki also responded to criticism that followed the execution of Saddam Hussein.

Mr. Maliki said Saddam got a fair trial, something he denied to most of the people put to death during his rule. The prime minister called the execution an internal matter and urged foreign governments to stop meddling in Iraqi affairs.

Good enough for me but obviously not for this guy!

He’s hanged, mid-prayer and the taunts continue.

So, within a few moments, one of the world’s most reviled despots became a martyr, showing more dignity than any “official” in the room.

Bush, who slept through the execution (Surprise!) but later issued a statement praising the Iraqi government reacted to the new “Ox-Bow Incident” taint by doing what he does best. Pulling a Sergeant Shultz, he essentially proffered an “I know nussink” response.

Nouri al-Maliki’s government began to tap dance so feverishly, it resembled Gregory Hines on speed.

Thanks Ed. I did a bit of dancing too.

I post this in awe of the seeming embracing of a madman. These people are so distraught over the way the execution was handled that they lose sight of the executed, painting his gallow demeanor "dignified" and somehow "honorable". This ignorant embrace seeks to overshadow the lives and safety of the millions who USED TO BE under the threat of the man dangling in that cellphone video.

Abbas Terms Hamas Forces "illegal" As Violence Continues

AP photo
What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday termed "illegal" the Hamas-controlled armed Executive Force, unless the members are integrated into official security services.

His remarks came amid ongoing internal Palestinian violence.

During the last week, Fatah and Hamas have both conducted kidnapping operations in both the West Bank and Gaza Strip, mostly targeting each other's members. A Peruvian photographer, working for the French news agency AFP, was also kidnapped and remains in captivity.

So the idea here seems to be who is more illegal: Fatah or Hamas? As long as they act like terrorists, neither means squat to me.

Beyond Blossoms was founded in 2003 by Josh Grossman and Gina Maschek. The idea for the company flowered when they needed to write a business plan for an entrepreneurship class in grad school. "We were looking for a business that would allow us to be creative and sell something that people love. Flowers are the perfect item," Josh states. After graduating, the two budding (get it budding?) entrepreneurs began operations.

Vatican: Next Pope will be Muslim

Danish cartoon protests in Hong KongPhoto Credit: Sam Graham (click on image for larger view)

What a year! Muslims, Muslims, everywhere. We had cartoon riots, Minnesota voters send first Muslim to Capitol Hill, New UN ambassador a Muslim, the first female Muslim in space, Muslims taking over Catholic Churches in Belgium, and one-fourth of the world is now Muslim.

Although Pope Benedict XVI seems to be in good health, he is nearly 80 years old. Considering his near fatal encounter with Islam last September, it is probably likely that the 117 cardinal electors will consider making the next Pope a Muslim.

A little history: The Vatican held Muslims (as well as apostate Christians) in contempt since the time of Pope Boniface VIII (c. 1235 – October 11, 1303) with his pronouncement "extra ecclesiam nulla salus" or "If you ain't Catholic, you're going to hell."

But that all changed in October of 1965 when His Holiness Pope Paul VI proclaimed the DECLARATION ON THE RELATION OF THE CHURCH TO NON-CHRISTIAN RELIGIONS - NOSTRA AETATE: "Since in the course of centuries not a few quarrels and hostilities have arisen between Christians and Moslems, this sacred synod urges all to forget the past and to work sincerely for mutual understanding and to preserve as well as to promote together for the benefit of all mankind social justice and moral welfare, as well as peace and freedom."

The next Pope will face a declining Christian population and a fast exploding Muslim community in Europe which has been pressing for Shariah Law to be used in secular European courts.

Christians have declined worldwide and only gained significant population in Africa. In 1955 there were 16 million Catholics in Africa; in 1978 there were 55 million, and in 2004 almost 149 million. [Statisical Yearbook of the Catholic Church] Although this may seem as if Christians as a percentage are growing it is misleading: in actual fact Africa is now mostly Muslim. What's really happening is that Africans (both Christians and Muslims) are breeding faster than nature and Muslim terror can moderate. Of course, a lot of this is the fault of well-intentioned, but misguided American Philanthropy.

nun opposing iraq warIn case you're wondering whether Muslims are even interested in taking over the Vatican: Saudi Sheikh Muhammad bin Abd Al-Rahman Al-'Arifi, Imam of the mosque of King Fahd Defense Academy, discussed the coming Muslim conquest of the Vatican. Citing a Hadith in an article posted on the Kalemat website in 2002, he stated: "… We will control the land of the Vatican; we will control Rome and introduce Islam in it. Yes, the Christians, who carve crosses on the breasts of the Muslims … will yet pay us the Jiziya [poll tax paid by non-Muslims under Muslim rule], in humiliation, or they will convert to Islam…" [frontpagemag]

Since the whole world seems hell-bent on knee-bending to Islam, I fully expect the next Pope to indeed be Muslim. Oh well, at least some nuns will not have to make major changes to their habits.

Iran: Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei dead?

Pajamas media is reporting that Ayatollah Ali Khamenei maybe dead. It will be interesting to see if this is true. If it is true it will be interesting to see what will happen next in Iran. Read the whole story here.

UPDATE FROM MICHAEL LEDEEN (Fri. Jan 5):
The source still insists Khamenei is dead, but I cannot find any direct or indirect confirmation. To my knowledge only one person says Khamenei is dead. That said, the regime would have every reason to keep the fact secret, and Khamenei’s physical condition has certainly been grave. In addition to the reports of his emergency hospitalization, his message to the Islamic Community on the Eid festival was released, not publicly read, as he had always done in the past. He has made no public appearances for several days, and Persian web sites have declared—several days ago now—that he cannot carry out his responsibilities and will have to be replaced. The struggle for succession is well under way.

Is use of torture legitimate?

I have received comments from a visitor to my blog that has brought up the topic of torture. I have been playing comment tag with him since. I figured I would try to explain my position on the topic in a post. The question, as the title states, is the use of torture legitimate?

When I was younger I could never understand the need to use torture when interrogating a prisoner of war. I had read and seen movies depicting the worthless use of torture for the sake of torture. This was sickening and displayed, to me, a madness within humanity. When I thought of torture I always thought of the innocent man, wrongfully accused and caught up in something he had no control over. When I thought of torture during war, I pictured the scenes from "The Deerhunter." I allowed these visions to control my thoughts about the use of torture.

During my first few years in the military I still held this belief. While discussing with a Vietnam veteran I brought up this belief he presented a simple hypothetical that I'm sure alot of people have heard. If you had captured a man who, you were sure, knew of a plan to kill your mother, what would you do to get that information? Of course I didn't like that hypothetical. What are the odds that something like that would actually happen? He reworded it. If you had captured somebody and believed this guy had information about a plot to kill your shipmate or shipmates, how far would you go to obtain the information? I still didn't like it, but his point had been made.

If providing a warm bed, meals, and prayer rooms was all it took to get somebody to spill the beans there would be no torture. All soldiers, friend or foe, are trained to resist the best they can, from interrogation techniques used by the opposing forces. In quite a few cases, a simple beating up doesn't get any information. Should it stop there in hopes that the plot can perchance be foiled? Should lives hang in the balance on the hope that the plot doesn't come to fruition?

Torture - Spanish Inquisition styleAs I am older now I have a different view on torture. Not because I believe it to be 100% affective. It is not. It may not be 50, 30, or 20% affective. If your job is to win a war and protect your comrades in arms as well as those placed under your care then you must be willing to do whatever is necessary. Allowing people to be murdered just because you don't want a man to be considered a martyr is worse than the torture that could have attained the information to save them. Allowing others to be slaughtered because you don't have the wherewithal to obtain the information, ditto.

War is not evil. Only the ideas that lead to war can be deemed evil or good. True torture, though beyond most of our full comprehension, falls into the same category. To most sane people, both these actions create a sense of shame and guilt. This is to be shared by all humanity. It is because we are human, that things like this occur. Yes, I am very cynical in regards to me and my fellow human beings. We human beings have a tendency to put other human beings into situations and decisions that they will regret for the rest of their lives. No matter if all means have been used, or if time is of the essence, the decision to torture another human being will live with the torturer forever. If he is a just man, he will spend the rest of his live trying to figure out ways that could have prevented the torture. He may even convince himself that there was a way around it. This creates an insanity that only Human Beings create and only Human Beings live with. What a wonderful creature we are.

New UN ambassador a Muslim

I have Been seeing a lot of stories that Bush is going to be naming Zalmay Khalilzad as our new UN ambassador. Zalmay Khalilzad was our ambassador to Iraq. I really don't know a lot about Khalilzad but I'll be honest I'm a little uneasy about this choice.

This man may do a fine job I do not know.

But I just don't understand why our country would have a Muslim representing us in the UN. That would be like Pakistan having a Christian as there UN ambassador. It just doesn't make since to me. I found a website claiming Khalilzad had connections to a Radical Islamic group here. Who knows if it is even true but one thing is for sure though many are uneasy about this choice. It will be interesting if Bush announces him this morning at 9:50 am.

CENTCOM: What Extremists are Saying - Al-Zawahiri

I'm a media whore. Really! I am!
From CENTCOM: That new audiotape from Al-Zawahiri

A jihadist website is observed on 5 January to post several links to 5-minute and 30-second audio message by Al-Qa'ida's second-in-command Ayman al-Zawahiri entitled "Rise up and Support Your Brothers in Somalia."

Following is the text of the audio message, dated Dhu al-Hijjah 1427 hegira, corresponding to January 2007, produced by Al-Sahahb Media Productions:

"In the name of God, praise be to God, and prayers and peace be upon God's Prophet, his household, companions, and supporters. My Muslim brothers everywhere, God's peace and blessings be upon you.

While I am addressing you today, the Crusader invading Ethiopian forces are violating the Islamic land of dear Somalia. Moreover, the Security Council is plotting to approve this invasion by issuing its resolution to dispatch international forces to Somalia and by its failure to issue a resolution that calls for the withdrawal of the Ethiopian forces from Somalia. Here, I am urging the Islamic nation in Somalia to be steadfast in this new Crusader battlefield, which America, its allies, and the United Nations are waging against Islam and Muslims.

The United Nations, which divided Palestine and provided a legal cover for invading Iraq and Afghanistan, is offering today a new service to the Crusader alliance led by America against the Islamic and mujahid Somalia.

My Muslim brothers in Somalia: Do not be terrified by America's power as you have defeated it before, thanks to God and His grace.

Today, America is weaker than before as the mujahidin dealt a fatal blow to it in Afghanistan and Iraq. Hence, it sent its slaves to you. Therefore, do not be affected by the first shock, it is just worthless propaganda, arrogance, and haughtiness. The real battle will begin by launching your campaigns against the Ethiopian forces with God's help and might. The faithful groups-- in their pursuit of death for the sake of God-- will devour the Crusader invading Ethiopian Army, which has launched an aggression against the lands of Islam, God willing.

Yawn! Religious zealots are such a bore.

ANALYSIS-Somali Islamists weakened but not defeated

Al-Reuters spins the Islamists as the good guys. Click for video.
Analysis from Al-Reuters:

NAIROBI, Jan 5 (Reuters) - If words are matched by deeds, expect Somalia's Islamists to rise from the ashes of a defeat by Ethiopian troops who forced them from strongholds into hiding.

The movement seemed unstoppable six months ago when it seized Mogadishu from U.S.-backed warlords, opened long-abandoned facilities like an international airport, created its own police force and dispensed justice through sharia law.

But faced with an onslaught by Ethiopian tanks, troops and jets defending the interim government, the Islamists' control over much of south Somalia crumbled in just two weeks.

Though looking at their weakest yet, the Islamists -- who formed the Somalia Islamic Courts Council (SICC) and numbered between 3,000-4,000 fighters at their height -- are not a spent force and may resurface rebranded and reformed, analysts say.

Addis Ababa need only look at history to realise that.

Between 1992 and 1998, traditionally Christian Ethiopia invaded Muslim Somalia to attack members of al-Itithaad al-Islaami, largely dismantling the militant group Washington says is linked to foreign terrorists.

But a decade later, the leader of the group's military wing, Sheikh Hassan Dahir Aweys, re-emerged as the chairman of the "shuura" or consultative council of the SICC.

"There's no reason to believe Aweys will disappear forever," said a foreign-based Somali analyst, who declined to be named because he often travels to his homeland. "I'm confident this is not the last time we see the Islamic Courts."

Indeed...so are the islamists

Yo Mamma, Osama!
"If the world thinks we are dead, they should know we are alive. We will rise from the ashes," spokesman Abdirahim Ali Mudey told Reuters from a hideout.

Another voice from a cave seems confident too, as Al Qaeda urges Somali Islamists to attack Ethiopians.

Islam's war with itself

A very creative young artist, Sabahat Nawaz being interviewed by a news television channel. Her work titled 'Narcissism' in the background using the medium 'Fiber' (Fabric, thread and string on canvas) is on display at V.M Art Gallery. Karachi. Photo Credit: Jamal Ashiqain

A group art show of six graduate young artists opened June 2006 at V.M Art Gallery in Karachi, Pakistan. Among the paintings on display the fiber art work titled "Narcissism" by Sabahat Nawaz really stands out, the artist used fiber in the form of fabrics, threads and strings on canvas to create a stunning display of colors, shapes and curves. This all seems modern and civilized but in contrast: Oman Tribune - Man’s ears, nose cut off in Pakistan, Excerpt:
MULTAN (Pakistan) Armed men cut off the ears and nose of a Pakistani man after he and his family refused to hand over his wife, police said on Wednesday. The wife belonged to the armed men's group. The couple had married out of love.

The attackers also chopped the ears off the man's brother and severed his mother's hand.

Mohammed Iqbal's wife, Shehnaz, was not at home when about 15 armed members attacked in the central city of Multan on Tuesday, demanding she be turned over. "The assailants, who were armed with small arms, daggers and axes, tortured Iqbal and cut off his ears and nose when he refused to produce Shenhaz," Naeem-ul-Hassan, a deputy superintendent of police said.

"They dragged us on the floor and thrashed us before cutting our limbs," Mohammed Yasin, Iqbal's brother said from Nishtar hospital, where he was being treated along with his brother and mother.

Shehnaz married Iqbal last year and the couple left Multan along with Iqbal's family apparently for fear of reprisals from Shehnaz's relatives.

Seems Iqbal married out of his class and his wife's family decided to cut off his nose to spite his race. Such crimes, including honor killings, are very common in countries where marriages without the consent of the bride's families are forbidden by tribal and feudal tradition.

At first you may wonder why there is such a disconnect between the photo above and the photo right.

Armed men cut off the ears and nose of a Pakistani man who married one of their tribe for love after he and his family refused to hand over his wife, police said on Wednesday. REUTERS/Asim Tanveer Mohammad Iqbal (C), Mohammad Yasin (front) and their mother Manzooran (covered in brown blanket) are treated at a hospital in Multan January 3, 2007.

The truth is that this has been normal behaviour in this part of the country well before the invention of Islam 1400 years ago. However, Mohammed made it even easier by codifying and blessing these barbaric acts. Since then they have been cutting off noses and slashing the throats of their daughters without interference from anyone. The Internet, however, shines a light on these dark evils. Many Pakistanis themselves see American movies, watch our TV shows, see our sexy ads for L'Oreal and want to live our life-style. Unfortunately, being sexy or marrying for love does not mix with Islam. In this instance, Marx was wrong, religion is not the opiate of the masses, in Islam religion is the amphetamine of the masses; nothing stirs a poor, ignorant person to anger and violence more than Islam. Rather than try to raise everyone to the level of modern civilization, Islam wants to bring everyone down to the same level of existence as goat-herders in Yemen.

Visit any Islamic website and you read the same bullcrap over and over: Islam is superior to modern civilization; Muslim homes usually have more than one parent (yeah, some homes have 5 parents and the reason there are more parents in Muslim homes is that the women can't leave for fear of torture or death); that there is less rape (actually they mean to say there are fewer rape convictions since you need 4 male or 8 female witness) because the women are more modestly dressed; that Islam is growing faster than any other religion because people see its beauty and truthiness (as if conversions at the point of a gun never happen); blah, blah, and merciful blessings and on and on, dealing out al-Taqiyya as if cards in a crooked poker parlor.

Here are some billboards that lure Pakistanis into wanting a modern style of life but are in conflict with Islamic teachings. It will be interesting to see which culture eventually wins out. One thing for certain, both cannot co-exist for long.

billboards in pakistanPhoto Credit: John Milton, Excerpt: The major roads, large shopping arcades, hospitals, prayer houses house these billboards everywhere in Lahore. The in vogue collective psyche these days has become one of 'maza karo-moj karo-masti karo'. The ad babes with their smiles and waists lure the sight of a nation who as a rule and as a matter of tradition doesn't even believe in marrying with one's own choice. Mixed gathering are so very common yet are talked against about. Total hypocrisy has resulted in the crop of this new culture where existentialism meets our demands of body and mind at all levels and later we watch IRF (islamic research foundation) channel or QTV (quran tv) channel to satisfy our hearts and minds that we are still adhering to the 'golden' principles of Islam and are a part of the 'great Islamic society'. That society as a matter of plain and naked fact has died many decades ago and today we are only reaping what army and corrupt clergy and politicians sowed in post independence era. (click on image for larger view)

In an unrelated Muslim matter, I changed my mind about Keith Ellison. I can't wait to see him vote for some unnecessary local project just so I can read this headline:

Muslim Congressman votes for PORK!

A Tale of Two Rallies

We had a counter protest to the candlelight vigil by the Grannies for Peace Tuesday night at Union Square Park in Manhattan. Immediately they did what they could to block us by stepping in front of our banner and shouting us down. They were absolutely intolerant of our right to speak and had to be asked several times by the police to please stand back and to not interfere or to prevent us from protesting. It wasn't easy.

A very large group of people began to gather. As you would expect on 14th Street is very crowded, most were passersby stopping to watch and take pictures. But things started to get unruly when a few rabble rousers started whipping the giddy herd into a heightened state by jumping around and chanting 'no justice, no peace.' It doesn't take much, and it is amazing when you watch mob mentality sweeping through like a fire. They stayed for quite a while hurling invectives and low insults of every kind at one of our people who is a very brave woman who lost her brother in the World Trade Center. The things they said to her were disgraceful but she was undaunted.

After a while the situation began to degenerate and the police actually had to create a perimeter around us because the hecklers were getting too close and it was clear it would have gotten out of hand. How incredible is it that in the middle of New York City people are so intolerant of a different point of view, it brings them to violence. What made all of this worth it was when two US soldiers who happened to be passing by at different times walked through the angry throng to publicly thank us and shake hands. One of the members of our group was interviewed by the Associated Press in an article which appeared in the International Herald Tribune.

The photos that I took can be seen here.

Saddam Hussein's Lynch Mob

A big web debate is on about whether the execution of Saddam Hussein was conducted by a lynch mob and was more sectarian violence than the exacting of justice.

The Australian's Washington correspondent Geoff Elliott has his take on it:

Look at Saddam's bloody life, not death: US

THE Bush administration was in damage control yesterday over the leaked Saddam Hussein execution video, saying the furore should not distract from the tyrant's bloody rule.

White House officials were trying to hide their embarrassment over the shocking footage of Saddam, as Iraqi officials arrested three men for mocking him minutes before his death and posting a video of it on the internet.

The scenes were described in Washington as more akin to a sectarian lynching than an example of justice being served. The unauthorised video threatens to turn the ousted dictator into a martyr.

It also emerged yesterday that Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki had direct approval from the White House to go ahead with the hanging.

US officials in Iraq initially blocked the push to kill Saddam within days of his appeal against the death sentence failing. "They had said it was impossible to execute Saddam so soon," a senior official said.

"The other option was to contact the White House to get permission."

Mr Maliki spoke to someone "very high up", telling them, "you need to give him to us", the official said.

President George W. Bush was not personally involved, said White House spokesman Scott Stanzel.

Iraqi authorities alleged yesterday that the two guards and one official under arrest were outsiders who had infiltrated the chamber and shouted insults while recording video on a mobile phone. The men were said to be from Sadr City, stronghold of the radical Shia cleric Moqtada al-Sadr, whose name they chanted before Saddam's death.

Ok... so a couple of his enemies infiltrate the hanging. One needs only to remember what kind of man was hung to quickly get over it.

Just imagine if George W. Bush were in his place...what kind of people would invade and film his hanging?

Consider that these folks are on the same side.

I have always heard that precious metals are one of the best investment commodities. This is because precious metals such as silver and gold are assets that are both tangible and liquid (i.e. easily traded), unlike real estate which is tangible but not liquid, or company shares and bonds which are liquid but not tangible. Some gold buyers think gold deserves special treatment based on its cultural value and use as money, while others consider gold a commodity, like copper or lead. Muslims dismiss 1976 refugee decision link to unrest

Found this story from Australia about the 1976 influx of Muslim refugees. Of course it couldn't be the conflict with Muslim culture that is causing unrest they say. Click here for the full story. Here are a few of the highlights.

Cabinet documents from 1976, released this week, reveal immigration authorities warned the Fraser government that it was accepting too many Lebanese Muslim refugees without the "required qualities" for successful integration.

Looks like whoever wrote these documents in 1976 knew what they were talking about. Then again the word "integration" is a dieing thing these days. Everyone seems to think multi-culturism is the way. No longer do we encourage people integrate into our culture. We instead encourage them to preserve their culture in our country. It is obscene to assume that all cultures are compatible with the western countries.

Ameer Ali, the head of the Government's Muslim Community Reference Group, played down any links between the 30-year-old decision and recent unrest in Sydney.

"That doesn't have any link with that matter. To suggest it does is rather preposterous," Dr Ali said.

"Preposterous" you say? How else to explain a Imman saying "Women are like uncovered meat" and saying that 9/11 was an act of God. You also have Muslim youth rioting in the streets of Sydney and the government worrying about Muslims being "isolated." Not to menion to calls to jihad in Australia.
Please explain how the influx of Muslim refugees didn't cause this?

Meanwhile, the former Palestine ambassador to Australia, Ali Kazak, yesterday blamed Israeli spy agency Mossad for claims that former Labor prime minister Bob Hawke was the target of a Palestinian assassination plot in the 1970s.

Mr Kazak said Mossad had designed the plot as part of its efforts to discredit the Palestine authority.

Oh yes of course it was a Zionist conspiracy! If all else fails blame the Jews.

Apparently Mr Kazak has history of hate for Israel. Big surprise! He also had this to say about Yasser Arafats death.

It's such a sad time for us all, Yasser Arafat was such a kind leader," he said.

Somalia must fight

Ethiopia comes to the aid of their neighbor’s fledgling government and defeated the Islamists. Now the tragedy commences. Ethiopia does not have the ability to stay and support the Somali government. They will have to withdraw soon. This is when the Islamists will return with a vengeance. The Somali government is not strong enough to keep them at bay. If the UN sends “Peacekeepers” into the region, things will get worse. The UN will want the Somali government to make deals with the Islamic opposition. This is unacceptable, but it will happen. Mark my words. It doesn’t take some world events expert to see what comes next.

History proves itself over and over. Only those that refuse to study and learn from history are doomed to repeat it. Unfortunately those of us who have no say in policy will suffer the consequences. This brief moment of victory will be replaced by despair soon enough. We have the will to fight back but lack the resolve to defeat the enemy. Islam is spreading, not because of military victories; in fact it’s quite the opposite. They are winning despite losing. It is the politicians and diplomats that are allowing Islam to win. Propaganda and victimhood is their main weapon. Despite murdering and torture they get the “world community” feeling sorry for them and vouching for their actions.

This is the world we live in. The wicked are cared for while the righteous are castigated. It is nice to see Islam on the run in Somalia. I will enjoy it while I can. What comes next will negate everything that has been done thus far. The enemy will be allowed back in and given cover under the “World Umbrella”. Somalia will be worse off now. The vacuum caused by Ethiopia leaving will create greater chaos than they have experienced so far. The Somali government will need help in fighting this enemy, not dealing with it. Then again, this is only applicable if you’ve paid attention to history.

New UN chief's Saddam gaffe on first day of work

UN's Ban on the death penalty (no pun intended):

Ban Ki Moon, the former South Korean Foreign Minister, received a warm welcome from staff at the UN headquarters on Manhattan's East River when he turned up for his first day at work yesterday.

But his spokeswoman was forced to issue a clarification after Mr Ban said that capital punishment should be a decision for individual member states.

The UN has an official stance opposing capital punishment and Ban’s predecessor Kofi Annan reiterated it frequently. The organisation's top envoy in Iraq, Ashraf Qazi, restated it again after the former Iraqi dictator was hanged on Saturday.

Mr Ban, however, took a different approach, never mentioning the UN's ban on the death penalty in all its international tribunals, and the right to life enshrined in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights adopted by the General Assembly in 1948.

"Saddam Hussein was responsible for committing heinous crimes and unspeakable atrocities against Iraqi people and we should never forget victims of his crime," Mr Ban said in response to a question about Saddam’s execution. "The issue of capital punishment is for each and every member state to decide."

It was unclear whether Mr Ban was simply unaware of UN policy or did not agree with it, but his new spokeswoman, the Haitian journalist Michele Montas, insisted that there was no change despite what she called "his own nuance".

The Times Online article seems to think he made a mistake. I don't think so. The important thing was in what he said and not what he didn't say. With the UN's obvious slant toward Islam, it amazes me how many Arab States carry out punishments far more grizly than Saddam's short, clean little rope dance. Just think of his "bad first day" had he called them out.

Questioning Justice

Justice was served. The trial and execution of Saddam Hussein was justice.

It was not a perfect trial, none are. The screeching from the anti-war, anti-American, and Islamist crowd is nothing but background noise. Had Saddam stayed in power these executions would be occurring a hundred times a day. The very people calling the trial and execution unjust would be screaming that we aren’t doing anything about it. These very people were talking about removing Saddam before it was accomplished. Now they want to know what justification we had in doing so. These very people, who lambaste and castigate governments for dealing with Despot’s instead of toppling them, change sides as soon as the despot is toppled. How is this justified?

These same people scream for their government to protect them and then do everything they can to prevent the government from doing so. They want to know how the dots weren’t connected then take the pencil away from the government. These people want everything but refuse to pay for it. They want others to pay for it. They believe they have a right to the money that I earn. They believe they have a right to the house that I live in. They believe they have a right to take the food from my table and put it on their’s. They believe that the government should make this happen. How did this mindset come about?

What makes a person believe he has a right to something that others have? What makes a person scream for justice then scream against it when it has happened? What makes a person believe that the man that topples the evil is actually the evil one? What makes people believe that the world would be better if Saddam were still in power? How many tortured, raped, and murdered Iraqis must there have been before the Untied States was legitimate in its actions? How many Mothers, Fathers, and Grandparents should have been taken from their families before intervention would have been acceptable? Why does Saddam have more of a right to life than his subjects did? I have nothing but questions and none of them can be answered by the anti-war, anti-American, Islamist crowd without showing themselves to be hypocritical liars.

Saddam deserved to die. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad deserves to die. Khalid Misha’al deserves to die. Hassan Nasrallah deserves to die. Any head of a terror organization deserves to die. Anyone who sends others, strapped with bombs to commit murder, deserves to die. The idiot that puts the bomb on his person deserves to die. Saddam execution was justice and justifiable.

The death of Saddam put certainty into a nation that hasn’t had that for awhile. Saddam will not make a surprise escape and come back later to punish those who revolted. There will be no more dying under his orders. The Iraqis have a legitimate chance to build anew. Whether they do it is up to them. All the screaming from the bleeding heart fascist’s does not matter. The only purpose they serve is to provide opeds to the NYT, LAT, Washington Post, and other bleeding heart rags and websites. Saddam is dead. Thank G-d.

Jesus and Imam Mahdi returning together

Oh God!
If you're interested in prophecy, Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has suggested that 'Jesus would return to the world along with the emergence of the descendant of the Islam's holy prophet, Imam Mahdi'. It is well known that Ahmadinejad sees himself as the chosen one to bring forth the 12th Imam, to 'pave the path for the glorious reappearance of Imam Mahdi'. The suggestion that Jesus and the 12th Imam would return to earth at the same time is something new and quite disturbing.

Ahmadinejad sees Jesus and Mahdi working together to 'wipe away every tinge of oppression, pain and agony from the face of the world'. The Mahdi 'will reign on earth for seven years before bringing about a final judgment and the end of the world'. Sound familiar? In a speech (reported by WND and Ynet), Ahmadinejad offered New Year's greeting to Christians and asked WWJD (What Would Jesus Do)?

What would Jesus do if he were present in the world today? What would he do before some of the oppressive powers of the world who are in fact residing in Christian countries? Which powers would he revive and which of them would he destroy?" asked the Iranian leader.

My question is, WWMD (What Will Mahdi Do)? Spruce Goose has the answer (emphasis mine):

The Islamic Republic of Iran broadcasting website said in a program called "The World toward Illumination," that the Mahdi will form an army to defeat the enemies of Islam in a series of apocalyptic battles, in which the Mahdi will overcome his archvillain in Jerusalem.

The Mahdi's far sightedness and firmness in the face of mischievous elements will strike awe. After his uprising from Mecca all of Arabia will be submit to him and then other parts of the world as he marches upon Iraq and established his seat of global government in the city of Kufa.

Then the Imam will send 10 thousand of his forces to the east and west to uproot the oppressors. At this time God will facilitate things for him and lands will come under his control one after the other. ...

After his appearance the Imam would remain in Mecca for some time, and then go to Medina. ... a descendant of the Prophet's archenemy Abu Sofyan will seize Syria and attack Iraq and the Hejaz with the ferocity of a beast ... finally Imam Mahdi sends troops who kill the Sofyani in Beit ol-Moqaddas (Jerusalem), the Islamic holy city in Palestine that is currently under occupation of the Zionists.

The Iranian series also claims the Mahdi will reappear on Earth with Jesus:

"We read in the book Tazkarat ol-Olia, 'the Mahdi will come with Jesus son of Mary accompanying him.' ... Imam Mahdi will be the leader while Prophet Jesus will act as his lieutenant in the struggle against oppression and establishment of justice in the world. Jesus had himself given the tidings of the coming of God's last messenger and will see Mohammad's ideals materialize in the time of the Mahdi."

More from the Spruce Goose on the Imam's plans for you:

When the Imam emerges he will enlighten people by discussing religion and when people become totally aware of the nature of religion, their conscience would not permit them to reject what is right. Those who obstinately refuse to accept religion will have the sword of the Imam will decisively come down on their neck.”

Just what "religion" is that? One world government religion? Or just plain Muslim? I have never known a less compassionate religion than Islam.

Get ready folks, things could get very interesting.

Blogroll Buzz: Sweetness and Light - The Many Faces of Eid

Muslims around the world are wrapping up their celebration of Eid ul-Adha. It is celebrated by Muslims worldwide as a commemoration of Prophet Ibrahim's (Abraham's) willingness to sacrifice his son Ismael for God. Of course this is the Islamic rip-off of the Torah story of Abraham and Isaac, but what's the difference, right?

Sweetness and Light shows the difference in a New Year's Day blog post.

While the photo above is how CNN wants you to perceive Eid, S&L shows you the darker side of the party.

And then this one takes it personal.

New Delhi: A 45-year-old Muslim man on Monday slit his throat with a knife and sacrificed himself at the shrine of Ghazi Baba in Bahraich District in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Eid-ul-Zuha, police said.

A note was found in which Moharrum Ali had written, "I was sacrificing my life as I once dreamt Allah asking me to offer myself for sacrifice," Superintendent of Police (SP) Pramod Kumar told PTI.

Oooookay...

Why is the religion of peace so violent? Stoning rituals...butchery...sounds like just another day in paradise.

Why Trusting a Moderate Muslim is Dangerous

I know that most Muslims are fine people and make fine citizens in most situations.

However, I wonder if we recognize the difficulty Muslims from certain societies face in maintaining any real, practical allegiance to a Western society. There is an issue endemic to Islamic culture that we Westerners tend to overlook in our natural desire to be tolerant and inclusive of Muslims.

The Qur'an and many commentators are explicit to point out that for a Muslim to pledge allegiance to a non-Muslim government is illicit and places that Muslim outside the protection of the Islamic Umma.

S.5:51 “O ye who believe! take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors: They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily Allah guideth not a people unjust.”

The classical commentator Ibn Kathir says of this verse “The Blessed and Exalted One forbids to his servants the making of allegiances with the Jews and Christians, who are the enemies of Islam and His people, - fight them of Allah! - then he informs that they are only allies of one another. He then threatens those who practice this (i.e. such forbidden allegiances) saying ‘he amongst you that turns to them for friendship is of them’. He then states directly “That means that those who make allegiances with Jews and Christians are among the hypocrites.”

Maududi is clear in comments saying “In view of the degenerate moral condition of the Jews and the Christians, the Believers have been warned not to make them their friends and confidants. Likewise they should be on their guard against the evil designs of the hypocrites, the disbelievers and the like and should rely on the true Believers alone.”

If a Muslim lives at peace in, or worse still as a citizen of, an avowedly non-Muslim society s/he is subject to the charge of being a hypocrite. Remember that in Qur’anic usage “hypocrite” does not mean merely that one is failing to observe faithfully the dictates of one’s religious faith; it designates those Muslims upon whom the Muslim community cannot rely in times of conflict and war.

The Qur’an directly equates such hypocrites with Jews and Christians:

S.59:11 “Have you not seen those who have become hypocrites? They say to those of their brethren who disbelieve from among the followers of the Book: If you are driven forth, we shall certainly go forth with you, and we will never obey any one concerning you, and if you are fought against, we will certainly help you, and Allah bears witness that they are most surely liars.”

Allah’s command regarding sthese persons is unequivocal: S.9:73 "O Prophet! strive hard against the unbelievers and the hypocrites and be unyielding to them; and their abode is hell, and evil is the destination."

Now how do Muslims square these passages with living within Western societies? Simply by considering their lives in Western lands as missionary (dawa’) in nature, supportive of, and ostensibly, preparatory for jihad.

So what does this mean in practice in our era? Is there a hidden danger here? Should we get paranoid concerning Muslims like our society once was in suspecting the loyalties of Roman Catholics? (Just go back to J.F.K.’s election to see what I mean) While I do believe that there is a certain degree of danger that there could be a kind of jihadist fifth column in a Western society, that does not seem to me to be our biggest worry. History shows us times when loyal Muslim citizens of Western non-Muslim nations existed.

Yet, I think that we would do well at least to be asking ourselves how we could defend against one particular dangerous scenario. Every Muslim, regardless of how moderate his personal views, could well be approached by more jihadist-inclined Muslims and have demands placed upon him. He will be susceptible to these demands because of two powerful influences.

One, he does not wish to be identified with the hypocrites who oppose Allah and his army. He wishes to be a true believer. This moderate Muslim would not easily do a major act of betrayal to his host Western nation, but he is susceptible to emotional manipulation, therefore, in a desire to prove his Islamic bona fides he may well be willing to do things that support the jihadist cause. Would they be overt acts? Probably not, but they may be acts of support that would make an overt attack possible. Therefore, the emotionally/religiously manipulated Muslim represents a potential danger, as he becomes a controllable instrument for jihadi agendas.

Two, jihadists have a long track record of attacking fellow Muslims mercilessly. Algeria’s FIS is a good example of such brutality. This makes even the most moderate Muslim extremely susceptible to coercion. So let’s say that you are a nice Muslim guy with moderate views regarding the sharia’ and no Islamist agenda in mind. You work in a small company where you track shipments. You simply push paper. No big thing. No high clearance CIA stuff. Then one Friday after you are done praying at the mosque a nice young man and his older friend say they want to talk to you. They seem nice, maybe a bit religious, but nice.

The three of you go for a short walk and they tell you that they want you to help them put a simple little package on a certain shipment. You don’t understand at first and tell them that that kind of thing is not your department. Then the older guy of the two smiles and says, “You know that Allah has told us to not make allegiance with the infidels. Our first loyalty must be to Allah and the Umma Islamiyya. We are all called to serve the cause of the holy Prophet.”

You say, “Well I got to go. I got the evening shift.”

The younger man grabs you and spins you toward him. Then he shows you a couple of photos. You immediately recognize your younger sister and your nephews. They live in Cairo (or Beirut, or Casablanca, or Basra etc.). The younger man hisses, “Your sister is very beautiful. I’m sure that her children would be heart-broken if anything happened to her. A car wreck or a group of sexually frustrated deviants can be easily arranged.”

You might fight it. You might not. Anyway, this represents one of the jihadists’ most frightening and dangerous tools. Is our society even grappling with the implications?

S.9:33 “He it is Who sent His Messenger with guidance and the religion of truth, that He might cause it to prevail over all religions, though the polytheists may be averse.”

My New Years Resolution: Help Defeat Jihad!

Thats right I have made it my new years resolution to raise awareness of the threat of Islamic terrorism.

This is something I will do either until the day I die or until the leadership of our nation understands the threat. This year I hope and pray that the leadership will finally understand what we are up against and who the real enemy is. I believe we all need to show our appreciation to Congressmen like Virgil Goode (R-VA) who understand the threat we are facing. We even need to voice our approval of Barbra Boxer's decision to rescind and award given to a member of CAIR. Regardless of what party someone is with we need to recognize them for taking a stand. So this year I would like to see the mailboxes and fax machines flooded of our representatives about the threat of Islamic terrorism and what must be done. I am working on a letter to send to Barbra Boxer telling her that I appreciate her concern over CAIR and that I stand behind her on the issue. I also am sending a letter to other representatives letting them know what Boxer has done letting them know I back her and that i would like to see more of this. I plan on doing the same thing with Virgil Goode.

I believe most Americans feel the way we do here at JDJ but not very many of us are letting the leadership know that we are tired of the blindness and politically correctness. Maybe my plan will not get the attention of the leaders of our country but I must try! I love my country to much to stand back and do nothing. I ask anyone who is willing to go here and click on the map to look up the representatives for that state. Then email, call, fax, write them about how we feel and what believe is right! Happy New Year to everyone and I pray we may see the defeat of Jihad this year.

Happy New Year from Al-Qaida

Hajjy New Year.

Media whore Paris Hilton...uh...Ayman al-Zawahri speaks. But is anyone listening?

Al-Qaida leader calls moderate Arabs 'traitors'

CAIRO, Egypt--The deputy leader of al-Qaida accused moderate Arab leaders of being traitors for cooperating with the United States in a message posted on the Internet yesterday to mark the most important Islamic holiday.

Ayman al-Zawahri's message wished the Palestinian people a happy Eid al-Adha, but lashed out at moderate Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas and his Fatah movement. "Those who had sold Palestine, the secular traitors, cannot be your brothers. Do not recognize their legitimacy. ... And don't sit with them," al-Zawahri said in a 15-minute audiotape message that was posted on a Web site that is commonly used by Islamic insurgents.

What do the faithful have to say about that?

More than 2.5 million Muslim haj pilgrims performed devil-stoning rites on Sunday, amid tight security to prevent overcrowding and protests following the execution of Saddam Hussein.

"The number one Satan is America," said Iraqi pilgrim Suleiman Awadallah, who described himself as "a resistance fighter", after performing the stoning ritual.

"The prayers of all Muslims when they cast their stones at the devil must be directed at (U.S. President George) Bush and his devilish allies in America and the Arab world."

Ahmed al-Dosary from Kuwait agreed. "I prayed for myself, my family and for the end of the main evil, the United States."

Those devils...
